Review from Eric B.
I was in line up a short time ago at this Tim Hortons. While patiently waiting my turn, I noticed this homeless guy pick up several condiments and then proceed to demand free coffee from the counter person. The guy must have been a "regular" who had worn out his welcome, as she kindly but firmly asked him leave (again). He then muttered some profanity and started to turn around.
At that point, the guy in front of me speaks up and confronts him: "Excuse Me! Did you just call her a f*cking bitch? I think you should apologize!" And after a little more grumbling, he muttered "I'm sorry" and beat a hasty retreat.
That Tim's moment elicited a round of applause and an urban lesson on how courtesy sometimes needs to be shouted out (safely). -

I intentionally checked in here so I would remember to yelp about it.
The service was very slow, the staff were disinterested and aloof.
My coffee was cold, my chili was burnt and I generally was not impressed. -

This Timmy's sucks.
It is in a crazy busy area of downtown and there's almost always a line up (they literally have the airport style ribbon cattle herding fencey stuff all over).
So I would assume that this location has the doughnut process down to a fine art.
Not so much. I have missed the angry yelly lady so far, but I have definitely had the quiet talker not so good at hearing cashier. Parts of my chicken salad sandwich filling today were literally still frozen. Yuk. Made me think that this must be how it comes, as a frozen block of mayo/chicken and then thawed to perfection. "Always fresh, always Tim Hortons".

It's just one of those mornings where you have a craving for something, anything.. and in my case - a french vanilla.
However, I'd just like to thank the lady at the register for yelling angrily at me declaring that there was none left... not only leaving me cranky for the rest of the day, but also providing me with a half-ass job putting little to no cream cheese on my bagel.
It's not like there was a big lineup on a Sunday rainy morning. I'm not sure who put sandpaper on her toilet seat.Listed in: World away from Starbucks..

Tim Hortons is like the Canadian McDonald's minus the burgers and fries. It is an establishment. The location on Pender is within the Pacific Centre complex, but it all the way at the end near Holt Renfrew. Almost like it is separate from the mall. It is street level however which is more convenient.
Got a quick coffee drink to go for under $2 which was decent. Though the service was kind of leisurely here. And I thought it was weird when the person making the drink pulled out a large dairy product bag and squirted it into the cup. They do seem to have a good selection of baked items here, but alas I gobbled a Maxim's danish with the coffee instead.
Overall my feeling is that Tim Hortons is very much the equivalent of a McDonald's. It is a decent place to go when you are in a hurry, but is way down on the list with added thought of where to go.
