The Tim Hortons takeout cup should be named Toronto's official flower, given you see so many of them on the ground. You can't walk a block in Toronto these days without seeing a Tim turd on the ground. C'mon, we got dog owners 20 years ago to poop 'n' scoop. Why can't Tim Hortons educated its customers not to trash our fair city?  They work so hard to cultivate this idea Tim Hortons = a big part of Canadian national identity. But all I see is their customers are huge pigs without any pride in their city or country. They view any flat surface as their trash can.

Three years ago there was a move to impose a deposit scheme on takeout coffee. The logic is simple: beer bottles have nearly a 100% return rate. Areas where there are deposits on cans and bottles are picked up the moment they're tossed by an underground workforce of kids and street people. Check any bus stop in Toronto and it's probably covered in a pile of Tim Turds that could feed a human for a day if each had a 20 cent deposit.

Needless to say Tim Hortons opposed this and the matter dropped. And then we got a 5 cent bag fee, despite bags not really being a huge problem in terms of street trash.

Tim Hortons might serve up good coffee and donuts but it's not really keen to be part of an obvious solution. For that, Tims, you get a universal 1 star. Boo.

It's a Timmy's. You get donuts, coffee, tea, etc. It does have a Coldstone ice cream outlet, too, which is also good.

Just don't eat the chili. I warn you now.
