A fabulous time shopping at Tiffany & Co.
I came here to buy a bunch of stuff because I was on a shopping spree. Yes, I do those from time to time, so please ignore while I spend all my money in one place... *SPOILED BRAT* :P JK JK JK.. I came here to buy some products, one for myself and one for my best friend's GF Valentines present.
I came here to find my lovely new Tiffany Blue tote bag for the summer. I needed a new bag since mine is starting to wear out. The sales clerk lady was happy that I was there to buy. Not surprised, and help me a lot when shopping, we gave me a glass of water to quench my thirst and then proceed to give me a chocolate... I was filled up by the end of the time I was there.
Then I proceed to the glass tables to find the bracelette for my best friend's GF. I said it was a valentines present for her and that she was petite. I knew exactualy what to get her, and I approached the iconic Tiffany Blue heart bracelette. I pointed at it and she brought it out for me. I was admiring it myself as I want one like it, and then said, it's for her... LOL. I will come back to get one of it later after this purchase.
To say the experience was fun. I will be back for more products and I might get my engagement ring here as well! Yes, I have finally become a Tiffany lover. -

Ok, i'm back on the bandwagon. After my recent reviews (and drama) at the Oakridge over the ring size, I just simply returned it at the DT location due to its weird policy, only the dt can accept returns as indicated on back of receipt.
And here's the surprise: no questions asked! expecting a hassle and a ton of questions like at other places, who seemed to take offense that you're returning anything, but she was very professional, and still completed the transaction with a smile when she credited my credit card. -

I'm just CRAZY about Tiffany's!

I was browsing this store with my sister, and I have to say - the service was great.
No pressure, attentive sales people showing us items in the showcase - the service here can't be beat.
Personally, I love Tiffany, and this is a little piece of a beautiful sparkly heaven that makes dreams come true. Stop in for anything, something for you, or a gift for someone else...
I think I spotted something my sis would love for Christmas, and this is where I'm getting it from.
Way to represent the brand, I'll be back! -

So here's the thing: I have never had stepped a foot in this establishment before...until now (only because there was a mission at hand).
Had I been the kind of girl that jumps on every current fashion-trend bandwagon there was and love to advertise to people with all the brand names I wear, I would have gotten myself one of those Tiffany's dangling charm bracelets with the heart charm that has the Tiffany brand on it that says "Please Return to Tiffany & Co. New York" that every other girl seem to have on their wrist -- kind of reminds me of a parcel tag...but I digress. No, I had my sights set on something more unique, timeless, simple and does not provide free advertising: The Elsa Peretti (Trademark) Open Heart necklace. I have been searching for this necklace, or a decent version of this necklace since I saw it on one of my friends back in high school in 8th grade, and did not realize nor concluded that it came from Tiffany's until recently (I finally got around to asking where she got it from).
And that, is the only reason why we stepped into this establishment. Despite the high publicity this company has had in the media and the hype around this place had been created, I was somewhat disappointed. Sure there are shiny things sparkling everywhere, the famous greenish/blue tone of the Tiffany boxes...the selection of jewelry seemed somewhat limited. We took not more than 10 minutes to walk around and look at everything before my masculine-objective-like thinking kicked in: Go to necklace, ask to take a look at it, try it on, pay and get out.
That is exactly what we did -- I was even asked if I wanted to take a look around further, but there was nothing that caught my eye...Most likely the first thought that comes into my mind when a guy presents me with a Tiffany's box is, "I wonder how many other girls have this exact same [insert subject jewelry here]?"
Customer service was ok -- the representative I was with overstepped the inquiry boundaries a couple of times while she was helping me out though.
Overall conclusion: Going to Tiffany's or receiving a Tiffany's gift really is about the experience and the preconceived notion that it is special. But unless you have some sort of engraving done or you have been looking for that one piece that you could not find anywhere else for years and years, I would not see why you cannot find an even better selection in other jewelry stores. For myself, I probably will not be heading back any time in the near future unless I need my necklace polished. -

Ahh, I forgot to write about Tiffany & Co.
How could I forget? It was where I take all my mistresses to go shopping for the bling. (jk).
On one occasion, we were here and was looking at the birthstone rings and ear rings and they were about $1k and up.
She loved the store and the experience of just being there, but alas, it came down to her practicality and knowing that my wallet is getting thin. It's nice to know that she cares about my financial status.
So it came down to this. Jewlery or the Infinity?
She opted for the Infinity, which by name sounds way more cool, and it's way way bigger and she can show it off to her friends more effectively.
And what better way than to have matching his and her cars in the same colour!
Unfortunately Tiffany & Co would not leave us without something.
Regardless, I still had a smile on my face, and that lasted till we got to Luis Vuitton. -

So I just watched that movie Blood Diamond last night. Then today my friend pulls me inside Tiffany's to look at a gift for her mom. Wow, that was unsettling. All I could think of was that movie! However, I tried to subtly ask and the lady assured me that Tiffany's only trades with the most socially responsible.
As for the store. There were many many people working behind the glass cases. I saw the typical jewelry. I didn't realize that Tiffany's also sold silver baby rattles. Really? Who needs that?
This place is a bit extreme for me. I'm not sure that I could buy something here and not feel dumb. However, if someone gave me a gift from here... there's a good chance I'd appreciate it. Sad but true. -

Guys, you need to listen to me on this review!!!
This store will solve world peace, feed the hungry and has the ability to solve any of your problems. I am speaking with respect to how we can make our wives, girl friends, lovers, etc. adore us even more than they already do. I have never been able to efford any type of diamond ring from this store, but I have bought a lot from their "Return to Tiffany" series.
Don't let the name scare you off either, the prices are high but the quality of their product is fantastic. Also, there is nothing better than bringing home a little blue box and seeing the look on their faces. I don't even bother wrapping it!!! -

Shiny things make me happy. And if they're sparkly too, then I'm even happier.
I have gotten a few things from this Tiffanys location and I have never been happier in terms of customer service and quality. If I take back one of my sterling silver rings even 3 years after I initially bought it to get it polished, and they polish it within 10 minutes and give it back to me all sparkly - complimentary, of course.
And contrary to popular belief, there is some affordable jewelry to be boughten from Tiffanys. It obviously wont be in the diamond and white gold section, but they have some fabulous designs in the sterling silver section. I have come to notice however that my service depends on what I am wearing to the store that particular day.... Interesting... -

I love expensive stores where the staff are actually nice to you. While aimlessly wandering about in the Vancouver Tiffany store and gazing in wild wonder at all the shiny things, one of the salesmen in the diamond section engaged me in conversation about cut, colour, and quality of the rings. He even let me try on a ring with a huge shiny diamond - that I could never actually afford in a million years - but it was fun to pretend.
I joked about making a break for it, although I'm sure it I actually did run out the door, I'd be swiftly tackled by Tiffany and Co.'s tall, muscular security guards. Who, by the way, are also very pleasant and greet you on the way in and out.
Much of the store is given over to beautiful silver jewelry and giftware, so there's something for even the diamond-budget-challenged. I'm not sure if I even saw a sterling silver telephone dialer. In any case, it's certainly true what Audrey Hepburn said about Tiffany's in that movie: nothing very bad could happen to you there! -

3.5 stars.
My rating for Tiffany would have been a 5* if I yelped in high school or undergrad, but its star rating keeps dropping slowly over the years for me.
I'll always have a soft spot for Tiffany - it was one of my first "splurge" jewelry purchases in high school, and over the years, many milestones have been associated with T&Co gifts including holidays to my e-ring and our wedding bands.
And of course my trend purchases - remember the silver heart dangle bracelet that everyone had like 7 years ago??? And the Peretti initial necklace? Gotta thank Tiffany for that!
I think its appeal is that it's one of the only designer jewelry stores to carry silver, making affordable to most. They also have "younger" designs too.
I've never been loyal to a particular Tiffany store - I just go to whichever one is convenient and of course, for the bigger purchases, will alternate between Canada and the US depending on how the exchange/tax works in my favor.
The Vancouver one is okay and nice layout. Selection is good. Service is not that stellar in this location. My service varies depending on what I wear here - sad, but true. I was in yesterday post-pride and wearing crazy colors to get my e-ring and diamond band cleaned - terrible service and wait time. The friendliest guy that day was the security guard - LOL!
Contrast to a few visits ago when I was with a girlfriend, both of us happening to be toting Birkins that day... well, needless to say we had a SA pretty much run up to us at the door to help.
Ugh - I hate that. Tiffany was never like that before, and I notice this more at this location than others.
I'm still partial to some of Tiffany's designs, especially the less mainstream ones now that I've pretty much maxed out all the Peretti I can handle! I am currently obsessing over their colored diamonds with the halo setting - LOL, hopefully hubby will read this for our next big anniversary or Christmas :)
BTW - to update Anita K's post, Tiffany normally charges for silver cleaning now. Only gold and platinum are complimentary. -

As a reasonably patriotic Canadian, I try to buy my sparklies at Birk's, but over and over again I've been drawn back to Tiffany & co. Today was no exception - The staff are consistently friendlier & less condescending than at that aforementioned Vancouver landmark, and the selection at Tiffany is better, particularly when it comes to silver. Plus, there's nothing better than presenting one of those little 'blue boxes' to someone special...

Being on the receiving end of a blue box all but guarantees a sensational surprise. At Tiffany & Co.'s Burrard Street boutique, the brand is going strong, and is as popular as ever. Some customers come in to drool over the engagement rings, while registered newlyweds can pick up patent blue leather luggage tags for their honeymoon and a horseshoe key ring for the new house.

I can't believe I'm reviewing this place. I think I'm a guy' guy so I'm not trying to throw my boys under the bus but if you haven't got your girl something from tiffany you need to. I had no idea of the power of a little blue box. The staff is surprizingly not pretentious but I did walk out spending a small fortune but that smile and deep brown eyes were all worth it.
