Go to Thyme & Times Past if you are looking for a different gift for someone. Most of the items here are vintage and there is some really cool stuff! Since I went in the Christmas season, there was an especially interesting collection of Christmas tree ornaments. Being a cook, I also found the kitchen items interesting, as many of them were really old and would look great as a decoration in my kitchen!
Other items are new, like some of the jewelry.
It was the owners daughter who served me and she was very knowledgeable about the store. You could tell that she was passionate about working here and by the way she talked, her Mother is even more. A very friendly place! -

I was shopping one evening in Beechwood, that upscale and hipster neighbourhood just north of Vanier, and I was thinking that the street was missing some sort of "shoppe" - someplace historic and traditional. And suddenly, right next to the vegetarian store, I discovered Thyme & Times Past. What a delightful store. It is part antique store, and part craft store. And the crafts are like someone is trying to keep traditional craft arts alive and well - pottery, candles, etc. They even had antique-style clothing for sale - nightshirts and whatnot. If you think that they don't do things the way they used to, you need to shop here. Handmade natural soaps, herbs, Christmas decorations (not "holiday" decorations!)...it is a truly a look into times past.

History
Established in 2002
Thyme and Times Past opened its doors in December 2002 following an extensive search for products and suppliers . From the beginning there has been an "Old World" feeling about the merchandise available. Products were found in Europe, the U.K. ,Canada ,South Africa and South America . The collections of vintage teapots and kitchenalia are in new condition ready to be used . We make things that are old new again.....
Meet the Business Owner: Lynda B.
Thyme & times Past owner Lynda B. has made it her personal mission to provide good quality hand-made items old and new in her shop . Raised on a farm in rural Ontario and having had the opportunity to see other parts of the world she learned how to value simpler times and Old World traditions. A practical and thoughtful environmentalist as well as an experienced gardener she has wiilingly given advise to her customers about many subjects. A very dedicated and friendly person she has contributed her time and expertise to many local groups and individuals .
