Review from Emily-Anne P.
Vancouver, BC
So here's my problem. I'm an Island girl at heart and I grew up with Thrifty's as my local grocery store. It was Island owned and operated, "smiles in the isles for you, at Thrifty Foods."
I can tell you, that is no longer true. I don't normally go to Thrifty's because it's not near my house, but I decided today to pop in and get dinner ingredients.
Well it sucked. In addition to all the produce looking like it was flown in from half way around the world with insufficient light and water, it was really expensive.
The meats, however, were the worst part. I expected, being Victoria, that there would be some sort of organic meat option. I was specifically looking for chicken, but I would have changed my source if it meant I could get organic.
I couldn't.
I think it's really sad that since Thrifty's sold a few years ago the quality of the produce and service has steadily declined. The reason I'm giving the Tuscany Village Thrifty's a bad review is that it is so close to other amazing grocery options. So my thoughts, go somewhere else, I will.
