KW is lacking in proper Greek restaurants. I think it's because nobody in their right mind would try to compete with Three Kretans.
I have had supper at Three Kretans twice - once several years ago and again last week. I can't explain why I had not gone back in so long, perhaps I was being foolish?
This place _feels_ greek. The atmosphere is delightful. If you order some water with your meal the waiter brings glasses of ice and a glass bottle of water (it's the european way). We ordered more than water :)
The food is fantastic. I had the Three Kretans pikilia (a bunch of meats) and my wife had moussaka. For dessert, it was the best Baklava we can remember eating in the city. -

The Event: Dinner for 2...in the mood for Greek ;)
The Good: Service, Portion size, Owner is very open to feedback
The Bad: Taste of food (chicken shawarma), Soggy baklava, Tzadziki that looks/tastes like plain yogurt
Highlights: Personable owner who walks around table to table making sure everything is OK; we did give her feedback as she asked for it.

Established in 1995
Family owned and operated for 14 years, come and experience a taste of Greece. Angelo & Doxa immigrated to Canada from the island of Krete. In 1996, they decided that Kitchener needed a Greek dining experience where customers would feel welcome and a part of the family in warm, casual atmosphere. Soon after, the Three Kretans were born. Named after their 3 sons - Gus, Zack, and Niko - they succeeded in bringing the tastes of their native Greece back to KW. With fresh ingredients and traditional Greek dishes and desserts prepared daily, Three Kretans has established itself as being Kitchener-Waterloo's premiere authentic Greek restaurant for over 14 years. OPA!
