so the scoop usually is that you end up getting some cheesy wedding band that does always sub par versions of what you love to listen to and we're all supposed to accept it.
well, no way no how is what we said, and we searched for the perfect dj. well, in the late eighties some guy named Piers Baker was living in Halifax, throwing down killer parties for the Haligonian chapters of countless fraternities and started to make a name for himself.
that name became Third From The Sun. over twenty years later he has one of the largest and most well known dj companies in the city and hes played music for huge events like the Conan OBrien show (when it came to toronto), done the wrap parties for hollywood films like My Big Fat Greek Wedding and done wonders to convince a bunch of worrying parents that are used to shmaltzy wedding bands that he can make everyone rip up the dance floor any day on any big fat jewish wedding too.
for our big fat jewish wedding we came over to piers house, which of course was very chill and huge by the by, in the wonderful little village of parkdale, and he welcomed any requests we had, asked us about our musical interests and was ready to throw his own mix into the mix as we wanted.
on the day, he was excellent, looked classy (no gogo dancers with chicken steps) and people loved it. he's got the credentials and another 17 djs that work for him that have their own cache to boast of.
If you do like a little hoopla added in, he can provide lights of varying sizes and strengths and of course, the ever romantic disco ball.
