Good, simple breakfast food for the right price. In particular, the vegetarian benny is delicious. It beat cafe deux's veg benny hands down imho. Comes with avocado and grilled potatoes that have whole grilled cloves of garlic with them. It is like they know my tastes perfectly. They close at 2pm which makes things hard for a late waker like me. Also who does not like breakfast for dinner, and if such people exist, what is wrong with them?
The space is kind of small too. They do fill up sometimes but that is not usual. -

Theresa's is back! After closing down due to a fire last year, Theresa's recently re-opened and it's back to its former laid-back glory. For those who don't know, Theresa's is a hippy-run, organic diner that serves up healthy, inexpensive (around $8) breakfasts. My personal favourite is the Graveley, which comes with eggs, toast, garlic potatoes, avocado and tomato. Yum!
This place may not have a lot of ambiance, but the staff are super friendly and it has a nice community vibe. It's the perfect place to come in to have a nice breakfast and read the paper. -

Tiny, minimalist breakfast spot (maybe lunch spot too) on the Drive. Alt-staff, and the kind of vibe that I was surprised to find meat on the menu. Generous pours of quality coffee. Yummy bacon.
Their breakfast sandwich, alas, was tragic. Just a fried egg on a boring white bun. There was a wee bit of cheese too, but the whole thing looked so forlorn. No veggies, no flavour. My lady luckily had ordered a side of bacon and could supplement the sandwich with it.
Bus your own tables. Attitude-free staff on my visits. A la carte ordering rings your breakfast bill up pretty quickly but the place is tiny and I guess that's what's needed to survive.
Co-op. Lots of organic stuff. Ate here two mornings in a row last visit to Vancouver, and once again this time. A nice, genuine feel. -

Fun! Fun! Fun!
Interesting tiny spot on Commercial Drive both employee owned and run. The employees were quite nice and the breakfast menu was pretty diverse for such a small place. I had the cinnamon stuffed french toast which was two slices of oat-like bread stuffed with yummy cheese and cinnamon...mmm all for $4. As has been mentioned they ask that you please bus your own table and know that they don't take credit cards so make sure to have some Canadian cash for the occasion. -

In my ongoing quest to find breakfast joints that can accommodate my need for scrambled tofu (stupid egg allergy ruining breakfast!) while not denying my loved ones their eggs and bacon, we headed to Theresa's this weekend.
I want to like Theresa's. Their menu seemed reasonable enough.
But the food. Oh my goodness, it was so lacklustre. The food was barely warm. My scrambled tofu was unbearably sweet. Just awful.
My companion's "lox" consisted of two eggs, a piece of toast and one slice of smoked salmon. It was ridiculously anemic.
I will never return to Theresa's. I just can't forgive restaurants that ruin breakfast, my favourite of the meals. -

When my boyfriend is in town, we have a tendency to eat breakfast at Theresa's nearly everyday he is here. He is addicted to the toast and potatoes and I love a place where the food comes out in the blink of an eye, tastes brilliant and costs little.
Theresa's isn't open for very long and you have to get your own water and coffee, so if this isn't your vibe, don't go. Otherwise, this is the top place for brekkie on the Drive before 2pm. Delish! -

I love it! It's a fuss free breakfast joint with finger licking good food! You order at the counter and pay.. take a seat, and you get up and fill your own water, get your own condiments and utensils - and the servers simply bring you your meal. And once you're all done eating, you pick up your dirty dishes and just put them in the dirty dishes tub.
The staff is great, and you really get that relaxed and funky vibe from the place. On weekends sometimes it's hard to get a table!
ps. the potatoes are the best part of all the breakfast choices! -

Two words. So gross!
The tofu scramble is unbelievably sweet, and in my option inedible. The toast was soggy, the eggs were alright and the avocado was brown. The coffee was good, not great. My breakfast cost $9. What a waste.
I tried eating here once before the fire and it was the same experience. I just really wanted to be able to support a local business that is literally downstairs from where i live.
If i was rating the service i would give a good 4 stars out of 5 (the staff are awesome), but unfortunately I'm rating the food and yelp forces you to at least designate one star. -

Pancakes! But only the first time, the second time I tapped out early. It's diner breakfast, which only works once in a while.

On days when I don't go to work but need a quiet place to hole up with my laptop, I frequently find myself at Theresa's. No fuss is a great way to describe this place. It's a simple menu, simple service, nothing super special, you get what you pay for. The service is very friendly. The wireless keeps me coming back.
The only downsides for me: The place closes at 2pm, although the workers have all been pretty nice about letting me sit a few minutes longer. I kinda wish there were more choices on the menu that didn't involve toast and potatoes. I smell like a vat of grease when I leave.
But overall, I kinda like the friendliness of this place. It's doing it's own thing, it isn't stuffy, it's reliable (until 2). -

props for organic goods, and employee-owned-operated, etc.
otherwise, meh. Potatoes tasted odd. Bread was good, the rest was unremarkable. -

Employee owned and operated cute organic-focused cafe. It was cheap and the food was delicious. The home fries were well seasoned and tasty. $2 for eggs + $1 for potatoes = $3 for a lot of tasty breakfast. My dining companion got stuffed french toast which was also good.
