I have been going to Lane for massages sine the start of the new year and I am very pleased with how my muscle injuries have been recoperating. I have been going for two specific injuries (hamstring and rotator cuff) and it is all I can do to not be calling every day for a massage! Lane is very professional and curteious, keeps you well informed, and Also checks with you periodically just you make sure all is well :) I recomend him to many friends and collegues. I  am certAin that you will be fully satisfied with your experience if you choose Lane!

Had another reeeeeeelaxing massage. This time I really noticed all the effort and small details they put into the decor, ambiance, and furniture.   All the little details helped me visually transition from office to relaxation.  Funny is that I never noticed how important ambiance is when I was at other massage clinics / spas.    For example here, the massage table is seriously the most comfortable table ever, heated, ultra soft nd layers of warm cozy sheets and quilts, perfect!    Other places throw a paper thin, not so soft sheet over you.   And the massage room, they went all out on and have a mural on the wall of blue skies and clouds from floor to ceiling.  You literally are floating on a cloud after a massage here. I have had a lot of massages, but this place does the BEST job in creating the perfect massage environment.  Well done!

I bought a massage for me and my wife from Lane simply because we have been a little stressed out and deserved to treat ourselves to something nice.  Let me tell you, it was money well spent and was the highlight of our week.  Both my wife and I would recommend Lane's services to any of our friends.

I went to see Lane today for a massage.  I think I can remember only one other time getting a massage by a male.  Lane is very professional and gives a great massage.  He is very informative and accommodates requests.  The scalp and shoulder massage are an incredible finishing touch.  I'll definitely be back and refer others.  Great location, very pleasant atmosphere in the spa and easy parking!

Specialties

Swedish Massage - I pride myself on using just the right pressure with each person I work on.  I'm always sure to ask about comfort level a few times during each session, because everyone's sensitivity to pressure is unique.

Deep Tissue Massage - Deep Tissue doesn't have to be excruciating.  Yes, there is pressure, but I work in the realm of "Delicious Discomfort".  I work with each client, using deep guided breathing and visualization techniques to maintain maximum relaxation and minimal pain during the session.

Hot Stones - If you're looking for a treatment that's a bit different, then Hot Stones is for you.  Stones warmed to 140 degrees are placed on the body (not directly on the skin) and also used to perform the massage.  Feel the heat and energy of the stones melt your troubles away.

We serve areas all along the coast from Pacific Beach, Mission Bay and Clairemont through La Jolla and UTC, up to Del Mar and Carmel Valley

History

Established in 1999

I began studying massage in early 1999 at the International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB).  I began working for one of the instructors as an outcall therapist that fall, and registered my business name with a fellow student.  That student is no longer doing massage (motherhood), but the name has survived.  In 2000 I began working at various resorts and health clubs and continued to do outcalls on the side.

I continued to work primarily in high-end health clubs until early 2008.  I decided it was time to work for myself full-time, and began doing outcalls exclusively.  I soon realized that I needed to provide a space for those clients whose homes were not conducive to an in-home massage.

In late 2008 I found Wendy, of Wendy XO Skincare.  She has a nice little spa just off the 5 freeway and Mission Bay Drive.  I currently share a space there for those clients who prefer going to the spa to get services.  We have esthetics and makeup services there, as well.

Meet the Business Owner: Lane R.

I consider myself a facilitator, rather than a healer.  I believe each person has an innate ability to heal themselves, and my role as a therapist is to help you to tap into that inner healing ability.  Whether it's simply showing you how good it feels to fully relax during a Swedish massage, or helping you with guided breathing and visualization techniques during a Deep Tissue massage, you will leave feeling more centered and "connected" than when you came in.

I also studied Tai Chi principles to improve my body mechanics.  This is vitally important as it allows me to keep my hands relaxed and sensitive during the session, and draw the strength and power up from my legs.  Since my hands are not efforting, I can gauge much more easily what is happening in the body.  The effect for the client is they feel firm yet gentle pressure being applied, and a solid connection.  This is more than simply getting oil rubbed on your body.
