This is one of the best bookstores in the city and is defiantly worth a look whether you are looking for a play or just something new and interesting to read that you probably wouldn't; find somewhere else.
Its specialty is obviously play scripts and their choices are beyond belief. Whether you are looking for a copy of a new Canadian play or an old Jacobean work of theatre, they will probably be able to sort you out. And if there is a chance that they do not have, they are more than happy to place special orders. After all, they are a specialty shop.
Other than play scripts however, they also have a great biography section. Some rare finds about some rare people.
They also carry screenplays and a plethora of performance magazines from Quebec to New York to London and beyond.
They have two floors in an old Toronto house which gives the store some theatricality of its own.
You can go in looking for nothing and I'm betting you will be walking out with something.
Prices can be a little high for some things as it builds off of the U.K. prices for rarities, but is most often worth the plunge.
