This is a FREE festival that happens the last Sunday in September in Downtown Vancouver. It's great for all ages and has readings, activities, exhibitors and more. It's not just for the book lovers as The Word On The Street Vancouver promotes reading and literacy for young and old.
Canada Writes Tent, Authors Tent, Kids Tent, Raise-a-Reader Corner and The Word Under The Street, and Writing Talks are all venues with a wide variety of programming.
I love checking out the local authors in the Canada Writes Tent, attending writing/publishing talks at Writing Talks, looking at all the comics and 'zines at WUTS, and checking out the magazine exhibitors. My best souvenir from the festival (besides signed books) is a bookmark with my name on it written by the West Coast Calligraphy Society (by donation).
