Review from Carol K.
This place was recommended by the front desk clerk at the Grande Rockies. I was with a group of 6, so the consensus was to go there. I had no choice even after reading all the horrible reviews on Yelp.
From the outside, it looked pretty nice. The decor was kind of a lodge style pub/restaurant. Since I walked in expecting "chicken" and a Red Robins style meal, I was pleasantly surprised that my experience was not completely horrible.
I ordered the ribs with a side of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Fortunately my ribs were actually ribs, and not "ribs," but hey were a bit on the dry side. My coleslaw was complete crap. It tasted like oil covered cabbage. Thankfully, my mashed potatoes were fantastic - but can you really mess up mashed potatoes?
The service was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. After finding out that Joe S. was from Portland, of course this place would only be 2-stars for a Portlander. On that note, I feel confident to give it a 3.

Our service really made this experience, well....confusing. 3 people were working on this Sunday afternoon, one sitting, one doing her hair and the other did not seem too concerned with well....service.
We were going to eat, but the menu's, beer and eventual bill took a hour and a half....so we simply did not want to waste anymore time.
I will re-review when the time is write, I love Canmore too much to allow an apparent gem like this go without a second chance. -

Beautiful venue. Unrecognizable, dried out "chicken" parts. Took 45 minutes to replace it. And the waitress tried to avoid us for the entire meal. They took it off the bill, but I sure wish I had read the other Yelp reviews before we went.

Large patio with 360 degrees of mountain views. Heaters for the brisk wind. Beautiful bar area with slate blacksplash, tall leather stools, copper top tables and a few televisions with US open.
Had some shrimp tacos and duck & brie spring rolls to begin. Both very large portions and could be a meal easily.
Dishes at the table were chicken & portabello mushroom with roasted vegetables, chicken tortilla soup, and panko salmon salad. All the dishes were really good with ample portions.
Service was very attentive and friendly. Menu had a lot of variety to please any palate. -

Over priced for what you get. 8$ a beer. The beer was good! The out door eating area was nice but the bbq chicken wasn't that great.

Way overpriced for what they are. They have mediocre pub fair, but priced way above their quality level. Service was ok, but nothing great. I would not go back.

Overpriced, mediocre food (when they have it (and they won't tell you when they don't until you order it)), brain-dead staff, the worst music north of the Rio Grande (yes, that bad), and they can't even pour a hot cup of coffee. (Or charge your credit card anything approaching the actual amount of your bill. And then make you stand there for 20 minutes, staring at the deceptively expensive interiors, as they call your bank to correct the error, when you'd rather be walking out in disgust.)

Really nice patio, a great place to while away an afternoon. The food was very disappointing. Hamburger and ribs were both dried out. I suspect the ribs were smoked as advertised but also heavily steamed. The ribs had a good smoked taste but were dessicated.

This place looked great at first glance. It looked like it would be a good place for lunch. Loved the outdoor seating. However, when we went to the front, we can see 3 employees who didn't seem too concern that we were there. They were moving sluggishly and weren't too eager to greet us. Finally, we were greeted (without much excitement) by a waitress who showed us to our table. There was a lack of customer service from her, probably due in part to her shift ending because we ended up with a new waitress. Our new waitress was friendly. I was very surprised that the ambiance was very subdued. The music was low, the customers talked quietly and the waitress and employees were robotic. I felt like being in a dead zone. Now onto the food... The food was decent, like any mediocre restaurants. I would compare it to a Red Robins or something like that. Well, I think Red Robins might be better and cheaper. It wasn't worth the $19. I do agree with the other Yelpers that it was overpriced considering the quality. This would have gotten 3 stars from me if the service wasn't so bad and the price wasn't so high.

So disappointing.
We fetched up in Canmore to see the end of the TransRockies bike race, and went into this (apparently) fetching bar and grill. It had a nice looking patio that was a bit busy, but the seating person told us we could park in the lounge until a space cleared. The bartender took our drink order, and things went downhill from there.
Despite the "Welcome TransRockies Racers" signage, they apparently were not ready to have more than a couple of customers that day. The seating girl was apparently on her first day there, and was trying valiantly to deal with the crowd. The bar seemed to be swamped, even though what they did mostly was pour beers. 15 minutes in, we were taken out to a table on the patio. No drinks yet. 5 minutes later, our drinks found us. 20 minutes in. No waitress. 40 minutes in. Still no waitress. Eventually, we collared the seating girl, and she went to find us a waitress. 45 minutes after sitting down in the bar we had menus in our hands. Weak. The waitress was apparently fooled by the fact that we had drinks that she didn't deliver, and somehow thought that another (invisible) waitress had magically showed up to serve that one table. Once collared, she was quite attentive.
I reserve my ire for the management of the place. The guy spent his time wandering around the patio, looking bored, and occasionally chatting up some patrons. He was nattily dressed in dirty jeans and a gray/blue sweatshirt that had food stains all over his ponderous gut. He did nothing to help the staff deal with the crowd (save occasionally picking at an abandoned plate), and provided no leadership at all. A good restaurant will have good staff if the management gives them direction and sets standards. This guy clearly did none of that. The place has a great location, a large patio, and nice decor. It's wasted by mismanagement.
