Fine dining experience at a reasonable price.

What is with these people giving the restaurant so-so reviews because it's not a fast food restaurant or because they only went for drinks and thought the bartender was poor?  It's not Burger King or a night club. This is a fine dining restaurant people, and it definitely lives up to that reputation.

Six of us made reservations this evening prior to seeing the Lion King at the nearby QE Theatre. We arrived at 5:00 PM, plenty of time for a great meal before the show which started at 7:30. Our server, and all of the staff, were extremely professional and attentive. From beginning to end they made it a memorable experience.

The menu - it definitely isn't lacking great selections for pretty much any taste. I had the Rack of Australian Lamb, perfectly prepared medium rare as requested with a delicate mint sauce and pureed potatos. The presentation was excellent, the food delicious. We wrapped up the dinner with a delicious Cherries Jubilee. We finished dining and made it to the show with time to spare. I'm not sure why one reviewer expected to get a "quick bite" here. If you want that, don't go to a fine dining restaurant - try the bistro next door.

It was a memorable dinner - we will definitely be back. With a couple of good bottles of wine, the evening was about $90.00 / person. More than reasonable.

Great staff, excellent service, terrific food. Enjoy!

Three and a half stars ? Common Yelp people.  I never do this but, they deserve at least 4.

This restaurant is a fine dining restaurant and it does live up to expectations.  No, really.

The service is amazing as a fine dining service should.  The food was impeccable and the pricing is actually pretty good compared to the other similar places in Vancouver.  For 115$ we had:  One french onion soup, one red lentil soup, one Caesar salad, Escalope of Quebec Veal (that tasted exactly like my mom's, WOW (I'm from Quebec deehhhh)) and Wild Tiger Prawns and Baja Scallops (that were out of this world delicious).  Oh, I don't want to forget my Irish Coffee.... :)

The ambiance is over the top fancy (fancy cutlery and fancy decor).  The place is very romantic (especially if it's your partner's birthday and you have one of those roses delivery from OpenTable waiting on the table for her).  We had our plates coming on our table with that silver cover and the waiter did that funny One, Two, Three, in German for some reasons.

We had an amazing time and everything was perfect.  If you're into European-French kind of dining, then it's a nice place for romance and good food.  Enjoy!

This place is a blast. My boyfriend won a package including a 1 night stay at the Georgian court and a 3 course dinner at the William Tell Restaurant.
Man is that place stuffy. We felt a little out of place because everyone that was there was from out of town and they had money. When we told the waiter my boyfriend won the package at his Christmas party he laughed.
We had no idea what to order, but settled on steak.........now this is the big ta da moment. It took 2 servers to bring our dinner over and in a sychronized fashion they each counted out loud: Une, deux, trois and both of them lifted the cover off of our plates. My boyfriend laughed his head off. Granted he is a baffoon at the best of times,,,,but it was pretty funny.
The food was great all kidding aside. I mean it was not the usual weekend dinner you go to but it was a special moment.

It's not the most stylish kind of restaurant.
But REALLY good service and really good food.
The decor is traditional and beautiful.

The wine the waiter recommended for the veal I had was perfect.

I was just greedy for ordering the Creme Brulee Trio for the dessert...since I was so full lol it wasn't the best tasting dessert I had or anything but was very satisfying.

Good food and fantastic service, but the waiters felt like they were trying too hard. Every part of the meal was a big showy production.

The lobster bisque was great,  but my bananas foster was mostly just meh. I was thoroughly impressed, however, with how the waiter managed to peel the banana without touching it!

The service really is top notch, the food so-so.
They serve basic fare which is nice but I usually like a little more zip to my meals, otherwise i'll just make it myself.
I went here for a business lunch and the food was good.
This place is not great to get a quick bite though, its more of a sit down place so if you were looking to eat in a rush, better hit this place up another time.

At the insistence of a family member, we went back for the third year in a row for a family celebration. I didn't enjoy the first two visits and didn't expect much the third time....and I was right.

For appy, I ordered a Pacific trio (at $15.50), described as "Cold poached wild Tiger prawn with a pickled cucumber salad. Spicy wild BC salmon tartare with gaufreutte potato crisps and Baja scallop seviche". The ONE prawn sliced in half was tasty, the salmon tartare (probably the size of an egg) was fine but you would have to develop a taste for tartare, but the scallop was definitely a disappointment. Two (maybe 3??) VERY thinly slices of no more than 2mm each (note: not pieces). Taste wise passable but price wise, it was a bit rich.

Main entree of rack of lamb was fine although the last of four pieces was a bit burnt at the edge. Dessert was cherries cooked in liqueur with ice cream which was probably best part of the meal.

What was more disappointing was the service. First, we requested the private room in the back which we enjoyed the past two years. But this time the hostess who took the reservation said we have to spend a minimum of $1000 to use the room. So we ended up in the main dining room. We noted that the private room was not occupied at all throughout our dinner that night. And the main dining room had five tables at any given time. So why the fuss?

Then there was the irritating waiter. First, when we asked to take a group photo for us, he counted 123 in Japanese....when we're Chinese. Not that we have anything against Japanese but why bother?

When he came to gather up the utensils to prepare for another set of knives and forks, for some reason he took my bread plate (but no one else's). I was puzzled, not just because I was just about to enjoy the bread, but why he just took mine. So I asked him whether there was a special reason for taking my plate away. With no apology, he said he'll bring it back, at which time he explained that it was to make more room for my entree. A: When the entree arrived, I didn't think I needed more space as the entree plate was not huge. B: Don't make up BS stories. Just apologize, and bring the bloody plate back.

But I've learned my lesson. Next time I'll insist on a better place. Period.

Get there before they close for good at the end of the year!

It's a throwback to elegant fine dining and three hour dinners.  If you can't be patient and wait that long, then don't bother going.

You will get great food and outstanding service.  There are a bunch of tableside presentations that they will do and they're a lot of fun.

It can be a bit pricey, but this isn't McDonald's for crying out loud.
