This was the best recommendation I received while in Niagara Falls! Our host at the hostel told us that it would be like a time warp when we walked through the door... and she was so right! The prices haven't changed in decades and neither has the decor. It's a classic 50s diner, with a simple and cheap menu, great service, and good food.
A sample from the menu: I ordered two eggs with toast and jam for $1.35 and my boyfriend got 2 eggs, bacon, homefries, and toast for $2.40!
Everything is made right in front of you on a single griddle. We sat at the counter and chatted with our server, who gave us recommendations on where to go while in Niagara Falls.
Also, don't forget about free coffee with any breakfast meal, Monday-Friday! -

I love these little places. It definately a coffee shop atmopshere. Not much fanfare about the inside, with a few tables and a long counter. You can't come to this place and be stuck up.
You will find a bit of everybody in there. When we arrived it was pretty busy and full. While waiting the people who were waiting behind us, pointed out an empty table. I said it is not clean, they stated you have to clean it yourself!!!!
OKKKK, my wife and I went to the table and were not excited about picking up other's mess, but a staff came over and cleaned the table to our relief...lol.
As stated the prices are great. we both ordered full breakfast meals, my wife had coffee and I had orange juice and the bill totaled around $8.
BTW we did place our dirty dishes and the dirty container! -

Finding this restaurant and restaurants of such ilk is the exact reason that i love yelp! It is such a great find and there is no way that i would have walked in myself. They are busy in the mornings and we had to wait for a few mins (~ 5 mins) to be seated, no biggie. My boyfriend wanted to turn away because it was not so high end, but i insisted we stay. Prices are really low and I loved the quick service. We had breakfast and was out of there very quickly. We had Vegetable omelette, which came with toast and home fries and Scrambled egg, toast combo. We had free coffee since we stopped there on a monday and total was $5. It is a steal considering some starbucks coffee are the same price!
Check it out, i really want such small businesses to survive and live long. And locals seem to love it! Btw, it is opp. to library in the intersection of portage and Main st. It is right next to 1917 Main st, so go to that address and you will see this restaurant right next to it! :) Enjoy. -

If your not too chi-chi then please visit this coffee shop. I felt like I was walking into Mel's Diner. I loved this place , my snobbish kids on the other hand did not. Food was excellent, Coffee awesome and price unreal. Family of four total for breakfast was $ 18. We sat at the counter because all the booths were taken by the locals. But it was worth it. The address is not complete here but it is right by the library. I almost forgot very important bring cash because they do not take cards. Plenty of street parking.

This place is quite a little gem, a wonderful local hangout that probably looks much as it did in the 60's. The prices are unbelievably reasonable and the portions quite large. I had the "Bob Fink' which is basically an egg scramble of everything they happen to have that day. Instead of eating breakfast in your hotel restaurant, head a little way into the real Niagara Falls and then you'll know "Why" I think its such a nice little place.
