Friday foodie night! The Whip has great beer selection, and a vintage-motorcycle-hipster-yuppie ambiance. Is that possible?
There was a serious wait, but I was with some pretty rad people so it didn't matter to much. :)
The appys were decent, better than average but not the best I've had. Thai chicken strips were yummy but nothing special. The salmon tartar was prepared well and had a beautiful and delicate sauce but the fish itself was not top quality sashimi. Half the pieces were buttery and lovely and half were slightly stringy.
The poutine was very good, but we couldn't finish it since there was a little too much gravy for my taste.
I still had an awesome time, service was absolutely top-notch for such a busy place!
Would go again to try mains!

Ate here after the sun run on April 15th for brunch. I don't think the staff was prepared for all the hungry racers. Big lineup at the door. Took a while to be noticed but food came out quickly once ordered.
Pulled pork eggs Benny was tasty, eggs cooked perfectly, generous portion of pulled pork and hash browns were a mix of yam and potato. Great dish, I'd order it again and recommend it.
Chorizo Hash was lacking something. It could have used some cheese, more sour cream and an egg on top. Still a good flavour but more of a side dish.

Hidden away just off of Main St., The Whip is a bright, spacious and laidback place that is very popular for brunch. With an outdoor patio, indoor seating and a second level, there's plenty of seating for everyone. Their long tables are Perfect for large groups.

The Menu is lovely with plenty of options of meatatarians, vegetarians and vegans. The meat options are local and organic. The vegan tofu scramble is delicious with the tofu cooked and seasoned to perfection and served with a nice stack of toast. The beet and black bean veggie burger is also very tasty... It did taste a little beety but I like beets. Burgers come with the option of fries, yam fries or salad. Everything was presented nicely and served hot. My only beef is that there aren't any alternative bread options.

The Whip is also a great place for drinks with a wonderful selection of beers. They feature a cask and have a rotation tap. Service is friendly and efficient. Lovely place that is not terribly overcrowded but still buzzing for a weekend brunch!

What's not to love about the Whip? They serve up delicious comfort food (the cod on the kaiser roll is fab), they have a great selection of micro-brews on tap, the waitstaff is friendly, they support local artists, and, being located in an old brick heritage building, it's got Gastown's charm without the crowds of tourists and too-cool-for-school hipsters. (I still maintain the Mount Pleasant breed of hipster is different than the Gastown hipster, but I digress...) PLUS, you have an excuse to make that most cathartic of noises: wuh-tchhhh!

This bumpin' restaurant just off of Main street is one of the best places to come for a nice burger and beer. A word of caution though, it does tend to get busy and loud, so don't bother coming by if you're a) too hungry and therefore angry (hangry) to wait for a table, or b) looking for quiet, intimate conversation with your dinner companions. If you're looking for delicious brews and ethically-sourced food in a fun atmosphere, this is your place.

The beer is always pretty good and the food is always better than I want it to be. I have a grudge against this place that 1) I can't remember the origin of and 2) has never stopped me from eating here, so i'm basing this rating on actual facts instead of my weird gut feeling, but I'm taking a star off because after my 2nd-latest visit I could smell garlic aioli (this would redundant, by the way, if this aioli wasn't actually mayonnaise. head's up) the next morning. Two tooth-brushings later. It's not like I didn't try.

I'm about sick of visible hippie-art when I'm trying to eat, but God bless those hippies for trying I guess.

Oh also, when I'm paying $9 for breakfast drinks, I'd like more booze in them. I mean come on, I'm drinking at brunchtime. Have a goddamn heart.

I went here a few years ago (2008?) for dinner with a group, so it may have changed since then. The service was bad despite there being a group of 10 of us with a reservation. The food was okay but a little odd and certainly eclectic, and for the small portions, it was a bit pricey for us students.

I like the old-fashioned pub feel of the interior, although the wooden chairs are not that comfortable. Location is good, close to Main and Broadway, on a quiet side street. The service was very accommodating: they didn't rush us out at all, even though we were finished and there were people waiting (on seeing this, we got up anyways so the newcomers could have the table).

Some of the menu items are very good and reasonably priced (eg. ample-sized pulled pork sandwich with copious no-extra-charge yam fries for $13), while some are not (eg. 8 bbq chicken wings, also $13).

In the end, it's the price that makes difference between 3 stars and 4. An appetizer, a meal, a mixed drink and a beer came to nearly $50 with tax and tip.

Walking up to a it around the corner, red lights, named "The Whip," I thought my friend was taking us to some weird sex club. Turns out it's actually a cozy place with a great atmosphere and yummy shots. I absolutely loved the staff, so cool and friendly. Everything came quickly, you can squeeze in even when it's crazy crowded... and you really don't mind. The cocktails I tried were a bit savory for my taste, but decently strong. The salmon fritters are tasty and the wasabi aeoli on the side was to die for. This place is just a sweet injection of happy.

I may be biased because my super-awesome boyfriend works here, but I have to give The Whip a good review!

It's one of those awesome, upper scale, genuine East Van kind of places. Servers that behave like human beings, and are often genuinely helpful. The Whip has often been compared to/referred to as being in competition with The Wallflower. The Wallflower definitely wins as far as vegetarian/gluten free food, but The Whip really kicks it's butt when it comes to service.

Honestly, I think the food is a wee bit overpriced, and it is crowded as all heck on weekend nights. Be warned that they don't take reservations! If you plan to meet your friends there at, say, 8PM, be an awesome dude and show up at 7:40 so you can secure a table and you don't *all* have to stand around waiting for a while. They have a bar AND a patio where you can drink while you wait, though. Woohoo!

Sorry to break it to you: this place kind of sucks.

I've heard so many awesome things about The Whip and many of my friends go here religiously, so I was pretty excited when my husband and I stumbled upon it while killing some time in the Main street area.

The restaurant itself is kind of cool, and apparently it's a gallery as well? There was some neat artwork hanging on the walls. The whole place has a very rustic-meets-industrial feel to it; long wooden tables surrounded by bare and dirty concrete walls. I guess this is what's cool and trendy these days, but still nothing to write home about.

Our waiter was very nice but the service was so slow. Totally not his fault, he was working so hard but it was only him and one other girl working, which was odd because it was a Saturday evening.

Our drinks were overpriced for what they were, and the yam fries are some of the worst I've ever had, and coming from someone with low food standards that's pretty bad. I always want to give the benefit of the doubt to a place like this because it has so much potential. Was it just a bad night? Maybe it was because they were understaffed?

    Maybe.

I know I won't be going out of my way to come here again, especially when I can get yam fries that are actually good and twice as many drinks for the same price at my favourite pub. Sorry.

How have I never written about The Whip? I love The Whip!

Let's start with the atmosphere. Great patio along 6th just off Main. This is one of those few patios in this city that doesn't suffer from traffic nearby. Inside there is a bar area, followed by a long hall with tables and benches and an upstairs area overlooking it all. They display art by local artists and I've shazammed more than a few tunes here.

The beer list is adventurous. I can get my Red Racer ESB on tap here, but I often share a big bottle of some Californian microbrew with my partner. They also have a cask night every Sunday at 4 PM and drink specials every night of the week.

The food is pretty good too! While the burgers and sandwiches are just good, it's the other items on the menu that are often surprisingly good. For instance, the pierogies are incredible. Their pulled pork poutine makes me salivate. They've also got a half-baked chocolate chip cookie that you just have to know to get.

I go to The Whip more than I should and less than I want. And I've never had bad service. Do yourself a favour and check it out!

As I write this I'm @ The Whip sipping a beer.   I've always liked the ambiance here, artsy and pub'esque at the same time.  I ordered the chicken sandwich with fries.    I have a bit of an issue when my food hits my table faster than my drink,  I wondered when it arrived if they had actually cooked it.....I mean raw chicken is NASTY (not that I'm a raw chicken connoisseur).  But yup, it was cooked, maybe several hours before I ordered it though, it was cold....and if you read my other reviews you'll  notice I have an issue with cold food.....(with the exception of salad). The servers are great and it's a great place to grab a beer on a sunny afternoon and hang with friends but the food is better off for when you're drunk or hungover.....

The Whip is a pretty solid little place. Awesome vibe, friendly laid back (if a liiiiittle bit slow) service and the food is always ON it.  Love that there is a seated restaurant area, then a standing bar-area, and ALSO an outdoor patio. Something for everyone. This is an awesome place to start off a friday or saturday night with a group of friends.

Oh- the Pulled Pork Poutine is pretty ridiculous.

Our office staff really like this place, they have good comfort food their fries are delicious and the aioli mmmm so good. The only bad thing l tried was the cheesecake, it was weird flavor pistachio and chocolate, very nasty, and one day l got a burger where the patty was burnt and the bun was over a day old and microwaved... but the rest of the times l really like the pulled pork sanwich my fav!!

Best veggie burger I have had in ages.  The patty is made there and has beets in it!

No extra charge for yam fries is a win.

Service is still sloooow.  But friendly.

Cans of Lucky have gone up to $3.75.  Islanders and hipsters, shed a tear.

Despite the slowish service I find myself always wanting to come here after floor hockey.  The beer selection is the bomb and I just feel comfortable here.

if it wasn't for the slow service I would give this place 5 stars.  Until they step it up, I will keep my 4 stars.

The location, staff and drink list is 4 star, but the food is a 2. I've had plenty of great nights here, just not much great food. $8 for a plate of yam fries? Get over yourself.

My girlfriend and I came by the other night for a beer on the patio because it was sunny and warm - a rarity this summer - and ordered a couple drinks plus the prawn and scallop skewers. The three tiny skewers held tiny prawns and tiny scallops, which had been previously frozen and had NO seasoning. What a ripoff.

I used to love The Whip, but then I ate their food.

Sure, the drinks are good and fun, but man, the food I ate was awful. I ordered salmon tartar and it was tasteless and soggy with sauce. My boyfriend had the coconut breaded scallops and was supremely disappointed. I actually regret  that I did not sending my dish back.

I may go back for drinks, but right now I'm very disenchanted with The Whip.

I thoroughly enjoy The Whip. Good food, good beer... there isn't really much else I ask for.

Friends of mine were visiting and we decided to pop in on our way to Car Free Days and wow am I ever glad I did.

I had the visiting cask, the R&B Raspberry Hefeweizen which was divine. R&B makes good beer, but this hef will become a summer staple, that's for sure.

My friends had the stuffed french toast and the goat cheese, samble & tomato omelette which were both absolutely fabulous and I had the California benny.

The benny was perfect, egg perfectly done, hollandaise sauce was not too rich, perfectly roasted tomato and just a few home fries. Awesome.

The reason I knock one star off this fabulous breakfast was the service. Our server was clearly busy, but unfortunately quite forgetful. Normally I just accept that people are busy, but I found her attitude to be unpleasant. Other than that, everything was great!

I stand by my 2 stars. Met up with a friend, ordered the turkey burger which came with a bright pink "cranberry aioli". Uh. No. An aioli is basically mayonnaise with garlic. Key ingredient...garlic. There was NO garlic in there. It was a hot mess. Looked like they just added red food colouring to mayo and basically tasted as much. I had to scrape it off the bun because it made me want to gag a little. Seriously one of the worst burgers.

Otherwise, same as usual...very slow service, bill was wrong blah blah.

A go-to place to meet up with friends, the Whip has a something to offer pretty much everyone I'm with on any particular occasion. The atmosphere has plenty of energy but is still super chill, and despite the multiple changes in ownership over the last few of years, the quality of food and service has remained consistently good.

I've been to countless birthday gatherings and going-away parties here, and the staff always seem so accommodating to our group's size. There's never any pressure to give up our tables, and so long as we book ahead, there's always plenty of room for everyone -- no knocking elbows!

It can get pretty loud on the weekend, so it's best to go with your game voice on. But as a relatively hip, super relaxed, non-offensive, mixed-bag kind of place to grab a drink and a bite to eat with some friends, the Whip is as good as it gets.

    Also: yam fries, nachos.

I was teetering between 4 and 5 stars. Here's the deal:

The food and drinks selection is friggin' awesome!  I've been here both for brunch and dinner.  Their burger and fries are so delicious! Definitely one of the best burgers in Vancouver! The meat is local, the bun is awesome. And the fries are fantastically addictive, and come with a yummy stoneground mustard aioli.

The stuffed french toast is amazing!  It's on sourdough bread, and ours were stuffed with fresh strawberries and cream cheese.  It was so so so yummy! And only $8. It's so filling on its own. But I opted to get a side of bacon so I could have something salty with it.

The reason why I'm teetering is because the first time I came for a group meeting in which several people who don't know each other were going to meet up. And they were to come anytime after 7. Plus we wanted room to move around and mingle. Anywhere from 20-40 people were expected. We asked the management if the Whip could be conducive to this type of meeting if we could have the upstairs and they said yes.  But when we got there, only a large long table was reserved and could fit at max 30 people and I think we had around 40 at some point. They had to turn some of our group away which was unfortunate.  We ended up going somewhere else. But we could have given them so much more drinks business. I don't know why they didn't give us the upstairs area. It looked empty.  It was pretty disappointing.

On top of that, the service can be a bit slow. It took a while at brunch to get our bill and pay. BUt it wasn't such a big deal.

I tried The Whip for the first time today for brunch - the food was pretty good and decently priced (my shrimp & pesto omelet was tasty and a nice different combo for brunch) - they also had the "man-mosa" of rock creek cider & orange juice which was both cheap and delicious.

the clientel was kind of a mixed bag, no problem with the hipsters or local families, more just a problem with the couple making out in the booth next to mine  - though of course this is no fault of the restaurant.

They do get the blame for the service though - our waitress forgot one of the drink orders and we had to reorder it (not the worst thing in the world) but then we had our plates cleared and were sitting for about 10 minutes before our waitress came over to ask if we wanted the bill.  We said yes and then proceeded to wait another 10-15 minutes before flagging her down and asking for it again.

Definitely a decent place and I would like to try this place for lunch or dinner but I'm not going to be rushing back to here any time soon

The Whip has never disappointed - brunch, dinner with groups, or just fun drinks the only reason I've ever stopped going there is because at one point I was there too often.

I've never had a bad meal here - seriously! My latest excursion was (of course) brunch with my friends.  I was the first one up, and who wakes first usually gets to choose the location (especially when I'm the only one who went home before 4am and therefore am the only one who can speak in full sentences before 1pm.)  Coffee was nice and frequent, I had a fabulously priced "man-mosa" which is Rock Creek cider and orange juice - rad, and a veggie eggs benedict.  The hollandaise was decadently thick and creamy and amazing, eggs were perfect, hash browns were crispy!   Service was spectacular, which still impresses me extra with my friends on a Sunday morning - this particular one had a few of us still showing remnants of clown make-up from the night before.  Yes, clown make-up.  My life is fun.

If you're feeling like some nice drinks, the "7 deadly sins" martini list and "4 virtues" sangria list is lovely and just the beginning of a whole lot of beverages to get you through the night.

The layout is also really pleasant - there enough little corners and spaces for each group to have a private meal, and there are several spaces that work for larger groups.  And one of my favorite parts - there is always different art on the walls by local artists to look at (and purchase if you are so inclined.)

Mmm, ginger beer!  I had no idea what that when I first read it; it's just another term for ginger ale, but more gingery, I guess.

I came here with my friend after shopping at the nearby Plenty warehouse sale, and we started off with an order of the nachos.  They were HUGE.  We were pretty much full after eating them but unfortunately we had already ordered our entrees before we saw the giant plates.

I had the mussels, which were prepared with a soy-sauce base, and, while tasty, were a little on the salty side.  Also I was sad that I couldn't really drink much of the broth for that reason, because that's one of the things I enjoy about eating mussels!  My friend got the lamb shanks and they were tender and delicious, and definitely in a generous portion.

It was a game night and unfortunately the 'Nucks lost against the Blackhawks, but luckily that streak didn't continue :)  The bar started off pretty bare, but slowly more and more locals started trickling in until it was standing room only and fairly crowded.

Service was quite friendly.  The server saw that there may not be a lot of olives on our nachos so she went and brought us a big cup of them, without us having to say anything.

A great little neighbourhood spot!  Oh, also it is an art gallery too!

I would like to give the Whip a little more than 3 but not quite 4, and not necessarily because of the food, but mainly because the two things that I wanted to have they were out of - that just leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth (oh snap!) when I go to a restaurant, especially when it's something I'm really excited to taste, for example, in this case, the Blackened Cod - lemongrass jam? come on, that sounds amazing!

Anyhow, that aside, the place is cool - the music is great, the people chill and out for a good time, and the location easy to get to.  The food is good, based on what I ended up getting - one of the specials - the Shiraz and honey albacore tuna.   The cocktail menu is quite diverse and fun, so if you're looking for somewhere to go for drinks and a few appetizers this would be an excellent place.  One of the best parts of my night (as i'm sure it is for many that go here) was the 1/2 Baked Cookie - absolute molton cookie goodness (still hot and gooey since it's served in the skillet) topped with ice cream and whipped cream.  Yum!

I really, really like this place. Cozy and friendly atmosphere. Lots of beer on tap, plenty of cocktails to choose from, nice selection of shooters if you're feeling really ambitious.  Food is surprisingly good. I can vouch for the mussels, poutine, steak bites, and strawberry spinach salad. Skip the pizza though - kind of blah.

The Whip was chosen for our Sunday brunch today which was exciting since I've heard good things but haven't ever eaten here. There are so many great brunch places in Mount Pleasant it's ridiculous.

I was sort of torn between the California Benny and the Havana Rice Bowl, but beans won me over and I went with the bowl.

It came with seasoned rice, salsa, sour cream, baked beans, a single (perfectly) poached egg and cheese. Everything was delicious and it was so filling that I wasn't sure I would be able to move when the time came to stand up and leave.

I was surprised that it only came with one egg, but considering how filling it was, I didn't feel ripped off in the end.

Our waitress was pretty quick and the restaurant was mostly empty so we got her full attention and she kept refilling my coffee like a ninja. I only saw it happen once, but there were a few occasions that I looked down and my coffee was closer to the top than I remembered it being. Haha.

I stole a few bites of chunky hashbrowns from my friend's plate and it was pretty awesome. They come with chunks of yam mixed in which is interesting.. I've never seen that before.

I'm going to try the California Benny next time! The Havana Rice bowl is great, but I think it would be better with black beans instead. Maybe that's just me though.

I really want to like The Whip! You know, years ago, I really did like this place - it had a different menu and a different feel, but then again, I was not quite as seasoned of a restaurant reviewer at that point. Maybe The Whip hasn't gotten crappier, but I'm not the only person who's said that.

A shame - the location is incredible, a huge heritage space with great potential. It's also stumbling distance from my front door. Unfortunately, I have been disappointed several times recently.

    1. Ordered the spring rolls, $8. They came out still cold in the middle and very greasy from the deep fryer. They were not even as good as the ones I have bought from Costco before. There were three of them. For $8, in case you didn't see that part.

    2. When the server came over to ask how the spring rolls were, and I said "okay," he rolled his eyes at us. Yes. I didn't even get a chance to say "they're still frozen" before I was treated poorly. This was not the only time I got snooty service here, but it does stand out.

    3. Went to try the vegan tofu scramble a few weeks later. Service was great that time, but unfortunately, the food sucked. For $11, I got tofu seasoned only with salt and pepper - yum? - with tomato and mushrooms in it. If I'm paying $11 for a meal I expect it to be flavoured.

So, my opinion is that the super-hip staff sometimes can't help but communicate through body language that they think they are way more important and interesting than their customers, and the food is overpriced and poorly prepared.

I'm giving them two stars because they do have vegan options on the menu and the space is so beautiful, but I will not go there again.

I love The Whip, especially in the summer if I can get a good patio seat. They have a great selection of beers, whiskeys and vodkas. Love the poutine. It's done right! They have good selection of vegetarian options, so it's a good place to go with a group of people (if you can get a table). The food isn't spectacular, but I think it's much better than average pub fare.

The servers can be a bit hit or miss, but they seem to come at exactly the right times for drink refills and food orders. I've been to the Whip about 10 or 11 times, and I've never had a bad experience. One time the server left a drink off my bill, and I pointed it out, and she said "oh, well I forgot about bringing it to you and you had to ask again, so it was on the house". How nice of her.

The only thing I don't like about The Whip are the washrooms. When it's busy, there are always lineups, and they could be cleaned a little more often throughout the night.

The Whip is a great little bar and restaurant. It has a quaint, charming feel. Their selection of beers is good with a chalice size for a little extra pop.

The food is a nice twist on bar food with fun, tasty treats, and meaty options. I like the place. It's a hip, cool place outside the normal downtown area and a little off the beaten path.

It's a cool place to drop by for a bite and drink, hang out, relax and lounge. It's a little dark and sometimes loud, but that comes with the territory.

The food and presentation was amazing, but the service was a little lacking:

    - forgot to give toast ordered with meal (had to ask for it... at least it's just toast and they can make it in 5 min)
    - no toast options besides sourdough
    - waited a long time for orders to be taken
    - waited a long time once bill presented to come and take bills

I'd probably come back at a less busy time if possible.

Whip it. Whip it real good.

What really makes this place is the setting; tall windows embedded in sheets of walls that just scream "art studio." As it should- this restaurant also doubles as an art gallery that I only wish that I could move-in and call "home."

The artwork is fantastically different from your standard, "here's something pretty to look at while you wait for your food." Honestly, I think I was still looking at it even after I had received my meal.

They have a variety of meals for all of breakfast, lunch and dinner and I would dare to say that it serves as an excellent place for all hobbit-timed meals.

The only thing that saddened me was that I could not order half of one eggs bennedict, and half of another- I urge those who are charged with the responsibility of creating the masterpiece of a menu, to reconsider.

Recommended Main Deal: Eggs bennie, of course.

    Score: HYAH! *cracks whip*

    order this:

1 pint of fat tug ipa
1 plate of fish and chips with three (3) pieces and colesalw - no fries

then go to heaven - or maybe order another pint of fat tug ipa

their fish and chips - hold the chips - are the best!

the fries are fine - but the fish is great

I never even knew this place existed!

Tucked away on a quiet street, The Whip still manages to maintain the hip, laidback style of other Main Street eateries. Brick walls, dim lighting, second-level seating overlooking the floor, and cool contemporary art on the walls really adds to the atmosphere (and normally I don't even like contemporary art!)

The drinks menu is pretty vast, with some pretty creative names: for example, the Lilo drop-shot - a Red-headed slut dropped into coke. So witty. ; )

I ordered the organic chicken nicose (served with seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes) and my friend ordered the pulled pork sandwich with yam fries. We also shared a 1 L carafe of the Justice sangria (hey, it works out to be a better deal; 1 L of sangria is $17).

The mashed potatoes were absolutely amazing! So creamy and garlicky. The chicken breasts were good, not dry as you might expect, and they're served with a good portion of creamy basil and sundried tomato sauce. The yam fries were also really good, nice and crispy and served with a yummy dip.

Will be back to try the other dishes that caught our eyes!

Menu: large drink menu, standard appies like nachos, edamame beans, and perogies; salads, a good selection of burgers and sandwiches, pasta, meat, and veggie options.
Service: a little lacking. Our server, while nice and friendly, asked how our food was once, then pretty much disappeared for the rest of the night. Good thing we didn't need anything from her. Granted, it was a Friday night and the restaurant was pretty busy. I won't hold it against her.
Price: burgers and sandwiches are about $11-14, mains are about $12-20.
Ambiance: nice decor, as mentioned previously. Downside to the restaurant - the music is really loud, so you have to lean in close to have a conversation, or raise your voice to be heard.

I can't believe how many 4 star reviews this place got... Here's my experience: Food- blah. Drinks- weak sauce. Service- shitty.

My friend and I shared the duck puff pastry pizza & carbonara fettuccini. Pizza was alright- you can't really mess up puff pastry. The fettuccini was par to something you'd get at a Boston Pizza. Blah. Our mojitos were supposely 1.5oz... but I could barely taste any booze. Boo.

Service was in the pits. Our server barely remembered we were there. Took forever for her to get our drink order. Then it took even longer for our food order. Water didn't get refilled until the bill came (wft?).  Didn't get asked if I wanted another mojito.

    Blacklisted!

This place gets really busy in the evening, even weekday evenings.  Excellent beer selection.  Due to its popularity, service is on the slow side.  Decor is pretty good.  This is one of those places you go to with a group of friends, get some beers and pass time while your food (standard bar grub) eventually arrives.

My go-to Mount Pleasant drink place if I'm with a big group. The Whip's large main floor and somewhat segregated upstairs section are perfect for decent-sized birthday parties and get togethers. They play great music and showcase an ever-changing lineup of local art. Order nachos and a round of craft beer!

The BF and I came here on Sunday morning for a casual brunch, yes we were actually up by noon, so it was a real brunch, not a dinner/lunch= dunch.

The place was not very busy, so we were were seated right away at a little table for four. Our server, who I believe was named Heather, was super chipper and funny, but not so much that it would be irritating first thing in the morning before your caffeine intake. I ordered the goat cheese, samble and tomato omelet, which was spicier than I had anticipated, but still yummy. I liked that the hashbrowns had a few pieces of yam mixed in with the potatoes. The BF had the Havana Rice Bowl, which looked delish, and I was hoping he'd feed me a bite, but he was far too hunger-over, and I thought if I stuck my fork on his plate my hand might get stabbed.

The service was great, the food was yummy and cheap (I think each plate was $9?), the music was Tom Petty (which I think is great!) I will be back at the Whhhhip (say it like Stewie Griffin) whay before you know hit!

We've always seen this place on the bus on the way home from work and been wanting to try it out. We had a chance this weekend and was pleasantly surprised at how good the brunch was... It's a pretty limited menu, but what's on it is delicious. I ordered my usual two eggs with bacon and toast. My over easy eggs were cooked just right, tasty crisp potatoes that had sweet potatoes in it -- a nice touch. Yummy lightly buttered toast done on the grill instead of a generic toaster.

My wife had the eggs benny which she enjoyed.. ala californian.. served with grilled tomatos and avocado. The hollandaise sauce was generous which is always nice.

Service is quick and friendly. I love the building that the restaurant is located in..  this place is another great option to add to Mount Pleasant's pletora of brunch/breakfast places.
