WOW! Definitely not what you'd expected from a "Diner". Very nice decor, comfortable atmosphere and the wait staff are probably the friendliest and most outgoing I have encountered anywhere. They have a full breakfast menu that should satisfy any breakfast taste and prices are very reasonable. The four in our party had different variations of the classic two-egg breakfast and everything was done to perfection. All-in-all, an exceptional breakfast experience that would be a great start to any day. The Wellington Diner will definitely be one of our regular breakfast spots.

Came here on a Tuesday morning for breakfast. Was pretty surprised to see at least 4 tables of patrons. I arrived at 11:10am, 10 mins too late to take advantage of their $5 breakfast, which includes 2 eggs, bacon/ham/sausage, potatoes and coffee/tea. Instead I had to pay $7.99 for it. booo
My over-medium eggs were a bit rubbery and the bacon was dry and hard. The potatoes were sooooo good. The coffee was alright. The restaurant itself was nice and the service was great. -

First time we went, our orders took so incredibly long that - even without complaining - they gave us free gift certificates. A nice touch that makes you forgive bad service (or kitchen mishap, as they put it). So we went back again, and this time our food came within forty minutes but the service was equally scattered. Lots of staff running around (all seemingly teenagers) but never there when you need them.
Okay, that's fine but the food is all fresh out of the freezer and utterly bland. The menu is a typical unimaginative mix of diner/pub grub that you find almost everywhere in this town, except not as good as the standard joint. The prices - even by Ottawa's overpriced standards - are high compared to the poor quality of food (you know, like a fourteen dollar salad). For us, two sandwiches and one drink came to something like $40 bucks with tip. There must be a decent diner somewhere in this town, no? -

Stopped here for a breakfast and I must say that the food and service was very good. They have a fine breakfast selection for all the yuppies in us!

This is an awesome local diner for families. The staff are always friendly and the service is quick enough for young children. Also, there are lots of good choices on the menu for even the pickiest child. The wraps and salads are delicious and the breakfasts are very generous portions. Try the 99cent cappuccinos with a slice of the cheesecake, mmmmm!
