The cupcakes are so good here. I'm drooling just writing this review...
The shoppe is absolutely adorable. Located right on college and a little west of Ossignton, it is very easily accessible by TTC (506 Streetcar or 63 Bus). They have tons of great flavours. First location I ever seen Spicy Chai Cupcake! Also, their cupcakes are just a little cheaper (I believe around $2.60 per cupcake) than the other tasty cupcake stores (e.g., Cora's Kitchen in Kensington or Dlish on Queen Street West - both stores are $3 a cupcake plus tax)
I wished I lived nearby here, so I can come everyday. -

Oh glorious joy!
I LOVED every minute I was in here. The staff are lovely, friendly and so attentive. We booked a table for tea and cake for a friends birthday. BlogTO voted it the best in Toronto and I can see why! All the cupcakes are set on beautiful cake stands and they have a decent selection. Being gluten free, I was feeling a bit anxious that I was going to have to sit and drool while the others indulged! Fear not...delicious GF vanilla cupcakes!
Drinks are good, I stuck with english breakfast but other friends had latte's and hot chocolate. I really wish I could have had the chocolate truffle cupcake as it looked amazing. I am going to have any cakes I need for a special occasion made here, they look fantastic.
They also had cookie monster cupcakes...Cute!
Will I be back again...I think the stars speak for themselves! -

Their red velvet cupcakes are the BEST in Toronto. The green tea cupcakes are a close second, IMO (although they're seldom made.)
$2.50 per cupcake plus tax. Yum. -

Let me be perfectly clear. These cup-cakes. and in fact, the full size cakes, are not to be criticized. They are perfect. As perfect as the babes that run this place. Anyone who feels otherwise can answer to these two fisticuffs I keep in my pockets. No lie.

Simply fabulous! Since The Wedding Cake Shoppe opened my family and I have bought all our cakes & macaroons from here! You can tell they take care to make each cake unique to each customer. In the past 24 months, I have personally purchased cupcakes, macaroons, crocumbouche, two graduation cakes, 25th anniversary cake, an Engagement cake, Bridal Shower Cake, Stag Cake, Wedding cake and Mini Cakes! Would NEVER go anywhere else!

I went in recently for my second visit to see if the cupcakes were as good as I recall. Yay! They were. I don't get the negative reviews because honestly, these are the best in the city or at least one of 3.
They use a cooked swiss meringue buttercream that is smooth, light and not too sweet. I didn't feel sick eating it like I have at other cupcake shops. One of the owners came over and chatted for a while and was very nice.
I was originally really sad that they are too busy to supply cake for my daughter's upcoming birthday but now I know to ask earlier. It is also a testament to how good they are.
One thing I really appreciated was one of the owners advising me on how to keep costs down by buying my own toppers that they would put on their own pretty cupcakes with some sprinkles or pearls. That was very kind since my daughter is only turning 3 and I am not cheap but kids don't eat much cake or cupcakes so it's really for the moms. I would have used them if it wasn't for the fact they couldn't do a topper cake to go with the cupcakes.
I highly recommend them. -

Best buttercream in the city & the sweetest owners! They make cakes with all natural ingredients that taste just like your mom makes them.

Stopped in and grabbed a few different kinds of cupcakes on my way home a couple months back and haven't been back. Nice storefront, nice people inside and no red flags until actually eating the bakes goods for dessert later that night.
The cupcakes seemed like they were made with the previous days leftover cake batter or something. They were dense and dry, not the light and fluffy and flavour filled experience normally associated to high end cupcakes. While still better than I could make, not encouraging enough to go back. -

I proably secretly scare the shit out of my bf with how obbesed I am with wedding cakes but I can't help it......even if I find the idea of marrage abit crazy. Its the cakes that make me want one the most!. They re cakes are amazing looking, I went though their many albums for a good hour while eating a cupcake, that if it tastes anything like their wedding cakes do, I just might buy one just to have a ton of cake to eat. They had funky cakes, classy cakes, grooms cakes too I belive, and very sure they had mini cupcakes aswell. Its a shame I live so far because I would proably go in there just to get fat off they re cupcakes and look though their books.
Pretty cheap too!. ( cheap is nice) -

I stopped in early on a Sunday morning to pick up some cupcakes for a friend's birthday brunch. There was a nice selection of flavours to choose from - I opted for one each of Vanilla Bean, Pumpkin Pie, Chai Spice, Chocolate Truffle, Cookies and Cream, Red Velvet and Irish Cream. I think I recall also seeing a vegan Vanilla cupcake, which is nice to note. The total came to around $18 or so for 7 cupcakes.
My friends and I cut all the cupcakes into quarters so we could each try a few different flavours, and I must say that all of the cupcakes that I had were absolutely delicious! Moist, light, and flavourful...basically everything that a cupcake should be.
Also notable is how kind and responsive the store owners are...I sent an email inquiry through the website and received a helpful and informative response about an hour later. They also seem to be active on Twitter as well. Highly recommended for cupcakes! -

**Please note I'm just rating them on their cupcakes. Although I would assume their cakes would be the same since cupcakes are just cakes but in little form.
So I thought I would check this place out for myself and try their cupcakes since I was in charge for my friends b-day cake. They were amazing!!! Simple as that. You couldn't make a cupcake any more moist then those. And the icing!!! Oh man, so creamy. None of that sugary crunch factor you get from grocery store cakes.
I liked that I was able to pre-order flavours and I ordered a custom sugar cookie with any picture.
When I went to go pick up my order, my roommate came along. The cupcakes looked great! Sadly for my cookie, an accident happened in the store where it broke. The girl there felt really bad for me so she said she would make me another one. The only thing is I had to come back the next day and I couldn't. She said would be willing to drop it off for me even though I didn't live in an area where they normally drop-off.
I didn't want her driving all that way for a cookie, so I thought with my roommate there I'll just have her pick 6 more cupcakes with any flavour she wanted. So I did that, and not only did the girl not charge me for those 6 cupcakes but she also only charged me half for the other cupcakes I had already ordered.
Not only did I get the best cupcakes ever, but the best customer services too.
I can't wait to order more from them.
PS: The Peanut Butter and the Red Velvet are my favourite. -

Walking passed The Wedding Cake Shoppe before my yoga class.. I could not resist admiring the beautiful fondant cakes that were displayed at the storefront... And I made a decision that will change my life... NO I am not getting marry.. I ran after my friend and told her we have to go in here to have a cupcake!!!
4:15 pm on a Sunday afternoon, 45 minute before closing and there were hardly any cupcakes left!! The cashier said someone just came in and brought almost all flavours and only Strawberry and Chocolate Truffle left... Both looks delicious.. the cashier suggested Strawberry so Strawberry it is!!
Before having this cupcake, my friend who is not into sweet always thinks cupcakes are super sweet and the frosting are so heavy.. and she just hated that. This Strawberry cupcake will forever changed her view too!
Frosting was so light! With just a hint of sweetness...
The cupcake itself... oh so light with just a hint of chocolate.. and the cake itself so moist... and has the outer layer of the cake is a little crisp...
I know it is so hard to believe but yes The Wedding Cake Shoppe's Cupcake is just that good, excellent, out of this world!!Listed in: Cupcakes!

This bakery is conveniently located next to my closest laundry mat which now means laundry day is also $5 cupcake/latte day.
The cupcakes are fantastic! Like really, really good. For my last birthday my sister treated my whole party to 2 dozen of these treats and so i can unashamedly admit that I have probably tried every flavour. My favourites remain: almond and peanut butter chocolate.
Their treats are also well worth while, I've bought loads of them for this holiday season: Toberlone short breads, chocolate dipped sponge toffee... just lovely, yummy homemade treats.Listed in: Best Baked Goods

I was in the neighbourhood today and decided to grab a cupcake because, honestly, it's hard not to.
With the most innocent and genuine comments of my love of place and my original rating of five stars, the cashier said "This cupcake is on us!" and handed over a fantastic! mango cupcake. Thank you!
I also had a lengthy chat with the cashier and owner about cupcake politics and happily report that TWCS does not use lard and makes all of its cakes from scratch. If I could give this place six stars and a piece of my heart, I would.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Let me start off by saying I love my sweets, but I have never been the biggest fan of cupcakes and cakes merely because I didn't like anything but chocolate. Then one day, I take a walk on College, see a cute little cupcake shop, and BAM, I'm not a chocolate only girl.
I got the coconut cupcake at my very first visit, and fell absolutely in love.
I was with my mom, and she fell in love as well. I remember once she sent me out to buy a whole bunch for a family gathering, but they didn't have that many because A. I doubt they made that many in a day and B. It was around closing time. I walked home with a container of 6 coconut cupcakes with little pink coconut flakes to celebrate Valentine's day. My mom insisted every child in the family have one, and see if they enjoyed it quite as much as we had. It was of course, a hit.
Soon enough I managed to get all my friends to go with me, and sometimes, I went every other day, getting the same coconut cupcake every single time, while they opted for trying different flavours.
Once I tried the peanut butter cupcake, and didn't like it very much, which was horrible because even a 3 dollar cupcake is expensive with my income of 10 dollars a week.
I came very frequently, and I rarely go to any place often. It came to a point where a certain girl would serve me my cupcake. I went in and if a different girl saw me, she called for "Alexandra", and if she was busy showing cakes to people who I supposed were getting their wedding cake, she looked up and smiled, sometimes waving.
I got a usual as well. I walk in and get asked if it was the usual. I never got sick of this simple little cupcake. It's nice and light, and not overly sweet. I can picture me not being able to buy anything else for months because I spent all my money on them.
Unfortunately (but fortunately for my wallet) I moved and wasn't the short walk away anymore. I haven't gone in the longest time, and Alexandra may have forgotten me now. I need to find time to stop by and have another one of the coconut cupcakes, just for memories sake. -

Cupcakes - dry.
Frosting on cupcakes? Meh.
Atmosphere - so-so.
Service - friendly but disinterested.
We stopped in for a cupcake and a latte, after I saw a review of their cupcakes on chowhound. It was 5 dollars for the two, and a decent deal. There were three of us, we all ordered a different cupcake, and we were all disappointed. Super dry, even hard on the edges. Made us wonder how long they'd been sitting.
Positives? The price was good for a cupcake/latte. -

Oddly I've never been inside this shop, but I still can review it!
I went to this bakery today but it was already closed when I arrived! The displays in the window were beautiful though -- delicious-looking cupcakes and absolutely beautifully designed wedding cakes. My boyfriend and I stayed and stared at the gorgeousness for a while and he snapped a bunch of pictures. It was then that I realized two employees were still inside the store...and one of them was walking towards the door with two cupcakes in her hand!
A lovely female employee came out and apologized that they were closed, but explained that they still had some extra cupcakes from the day...and so she gave us each a free chocolate cupcake with a peanut butter-chocolate icing!
I'd never had peanut butter icing before but as this one was mixed with chocolate it wasn't too overwhelmingly peanut buttery. The cake was nicely chocolatey and very light. An all-around delicious little cake and I will definitely be going back when they're open to try out some more!Listed in: Where I go to get my cupcake…

Maybe it was just the particular cupcake I had (Spicy Chai), but I was not really impressed. Dry and bland.
