I went to the Wallflower when it was new.  I thought it was decent, the girl serving was nice, but a little out of it.  I never really thought about returning because my girlfriend was not a fan of the food and to be honest, we kind of forgot about it.

I went last night and frankly, it's a lot better.  The burger I had was delicious and had a real "home cooked" feel to it.  Soft bun, the meat wasn't oily, and the fries were good.  The beer was a fresh keg also.

As well, the server, someone named "dandy," was a super easy going bearded dude with a nice demeanor and awesome music taste (the guy put Danzig on for freak's sake and made my friend's night/week/year).

The last time I went they had one beer on tap and last night they had three.  The food was much better as well. I will be back.

Breakfast poutine with poached eggs and gravy.

    Baked spaghetti.

    Perogies.

    Baked Apple "Pie."

These are just a few of my favourite things.

The Wallflower is my go-to place when I can't be bothered to make dinner for myself. They recently redid their menu to better reflect their decor, but all the goodies are still there.

The baked apple dessert is a must try. An apple cored and filled with walnut (?) butter, wrapped in pastry and drizzled with caramel, a la mode.

Friendly staff is always a plus, though you have to make it obvious that you're still there.

-1 for consistently inattentive service and empty water glasses.

I've been to the Wallflower three times now and I've always left a happy camper.

I first went because of the extensive gluten-free options as both my mother and sister are celiac, and I was trying out the diet for myself. I believe I ordered a burger, and though it wasn't the same without a regular bun, it was still darn good.

The second time a whole group of us went for my mother's birthday, and it was wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their meals, the drinks were delicious, and the service was warm and friendly. They were very accommodating as we brought our own cake and they refrigerated it and helped hide it from my mother.

And then I went again last weekend for brunch and I was pretty happy. I ordered the Salmon Benny and tea. One of my eggs was a little overcooked and the tea was not hot (they said it was boiling water, but I have my doubts...) but otherwise it was just the sort of brunch I wanted. The hash browns were delish too.

So, the long and the short of it? The Wallflower is a great place for casual  food and food allergy sufferers. The food isn't out-of-this world good, but it's always tasty, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and fun.

Oh modern wallflower.. Looks like things have changed.

Service: friendly staff but overly chatty and not engaged. Water glasses were not refilled and we had to use the force to stare you down for some attention. I get that work should be fun and it's great that you enjoy your co-workers but I felt a little neglected.

Menu: Nice new menu with a great new design. A lot of pages and a little busy but it totally suits you. I also appreciate getting the full menu upfront so I didn't need to ask you for the vegan/gluten free options.

Food: hmmm, seems to be less and less tasty. The vegan chili was always my staple meal but today the flavors were quite bland and ordinary.

I do love you modern wallflower so I hope that things will be better next time.

    * B Attitude summed up *

Attitude can make such a difference in the world - particularly when eating.

    - Bad attitude:  Indifferent greeting when walking through the door.

    - Bad attitude:  Cleaning off tables and chatting behind the bar prior to giving a menu, even though it wasn't crowded at all.

    - Bad attitude:  15 minute wait after finally getting a menu before coming to ask for order in a distracted way.

    - Bad attitude:  Sign in the washroom:  http://www.yelp.ca/biz...  While I know it is supposed to be in jest, it sums up exactly how I felt treated as a customer.

I ordered the turkey club.  The sandwich had very good hand carved turkey on it.  That was the highlight of the meal.  The tomato was mealy.  Had to take it off and not eat it.  The bread was fairly garden variety supermarket type.  The sandwich was not a good platform for the very good turkey.  What a waste.  Photo:  http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

The fries were an embarrassment.  They were limp soggy fries, with no attitude.  They did have that taste you get when baking frozen fries in the oven at home.  Meh.  Nasty.  Didn't eat them.  Photo:  http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

I'm guessing the "chef" has a similar attitude to what I saw front of house, which would explain the stuff on my plate.

I noticed the table next to me ordered the same club.  At least my toast wasn't burned to a black crisp like theirs.  That is a positive, right?

Now if they could only take the very good turkey and send it over to the Brown Dog cafe for their club and serve it there with their nice service it would be a match made in heaven:  http://www.yelp.ca/biz...

    Bastards.

Always a fan of Wallflower! When I'm craving a burger it is the best place to go... try the Canuck Burger. Not only to they do many gluten free options, they also make their own bread and offer dairy free cheese! Perfect for the vegan, gluten free, and/or meat eater in your group!

How the Hell have I not reviewed the Wallflower before? Probably because it has over 100 reviews and maybe doesn't need more, but I need to add it to my list of awesome Bloody Mary's, so here we go!

I first went to the Wallflower after googling gluten-free places in Vancouver, and I was SO pleased when I walked in the door! Don't get me wrong, I love greasy hole in the wall diners as much as the next person, but I ALSO love places that really care about aesthetic, and this place really does. They have beautifully coordinated, artistic decor, and showcase interesting pieces by local artists.

Now, onto the food. YUM! They have gluten-free up the wazoo! Make sure to ask for the Gluten Free menu. I get the the Corn and blackbean hash with a gluten free bun. Best gosh-darn brunch I know of in the city. Hands down. Pour some hot-sauce on there and add a Bloody mary, and you're in heaven.

Aw yes, the Bloody Mary's. So, so, so good. BUT! I have found that you have to specify you want it "Made like a Caeser, but with Tomato juice instead of Clamato", otherwise they will literally just bring you vodka and tomato juice. This isn't their fault, it's Canada's. Bloody Mary's a really more of an American thing. A delicious, delicious American thing.

Really cool place. Cool decor, cool crowd, cool staff! Cool everything!
We were so super starved when we ventured into this place. It was around 3pm Saturday, and I still didn't have any breakfast. Reason being is that once I go to MEC, I turn into a deranged shoppaholic and stay there for hours.
I had an omelette (I subbed hash for fruit) and my friend had spicy crispy chicken wrap, I really liked the wrap! Omelette was good, nothing mind blowing, but just what I needed.
It took them a looooooong time to get our food though, about 40min. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was super nice and apologetic. He even gave us 10% off of our bill because the food took so long. Now that was nice of him. Great service on his side!
    Will definitely go back!

Just the kind of place I like to be in the morning.  The selection of breakfast entrees and full page of vegan dishes makes me feel as I am not just going to another one of those bacon and eggs joint.

I had the tomato and spinach Benedict.  Light flavored Hollandaise sauce and not the heavy artery blocking kind.  Egg was perfectly fluffed and not overcooked.  The fresh garden salad on the side is good on its own and no dressing needed.

Wallflower provides that much needed healthy mix of greens, poached eggs and multigrains so you can easily say you are going to have that healthy start to the morning.

Note: A must-have that i also recommend for those not ready to go vegan is the breakfast poutine where the lightly sauced gravy isn't too thick and overpowering.

I've been in here a couple times with friends - their choice, not mine. I hope to never go back!

The ambiance is ok, the staff are friendly. This place is ok for a grabbing a beer, I guess (as long as selection isn't important to you). But that's about it. The food is absolutely awful! Nachos are hard to screw up, but they somehow managed to do it. Gross chili, gross fries, really nothing good on the menu at all...

Honestly, I'm surprised they're still in business!

Solid choice for breakfast.  We'd just gotten into town the night before, so this was our first meal in Canada.  It reminded me of many places we've been in Portland...somewhat hipster, but not so much so as to offend.

The coffee was rock solid, and the service was friendly and quick.  I had some sort of benedict, and it was really good, with filling portions.

They played a good mix of music while we were here, and I hope to return here the next time we're in town.

I came here for my monthly get-together with the girls, and we all enjoyed The Wallflower a lot. I ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes, which comes with gravy and seasonal vegetables, while my friends had the pulled bbq beef sandwich with the soup-of-the-day, the turkey dinner, and a chicken wrap.

The portions are pretty big, which is a great deal for the prices. We all struggled to finish our meals or had to pack the rest to go. My chicken was nice and juicy, and the gravy added some great flavour. My friend was a little underwhelmed with her pulled beef sandwich but loved her soup, which I believe was gluten-free mushroom. We all agreed that the food seemed like a good home-cooked meal.

We didn't get a whole lot of service there but when we did get it, it was friendly enough.

With the memory of an awesome Yelp Elite party still in mind (Jello shooters and big hair were involved; it was a memorable one), I stopped by the Wallflower for breakfast recently.

It's well-known for gluten-free/vegan food, which is not really my bag of steak sandwiches, but I was looking forward to its spin on regular breakfast fare. And a side of hipster watching. I ordered the crab cake benny, as I do love crab cakes.

Unfortunately, the crab cake turned out to be curried ... which might have worked on its own, but draped in hollandaise sauce, it was just too rich. I also thought that perhaps a strong flavour in the dish, like curry spice, ought to be mentioned on the menu.

So I pushed it aside and cleaned my plate otherwise. When the server came to clear, though, I told her that I didn't really enjoy the curried flavour. They didn't have to, but they took half the price for the dish off the bill.

So I was just satisfied and thought, no special reason to go back, really .... hold the phone, did someone say Breakfast Poutine?! OK, I'll bite.

I've only been here for brunch, but i've had a solid experience each time. I personally don't have any dietary restrictions, but if i go out for breakfast with people who do, this is usually where i end up because of all their veggie and gluten-free choices.

They would be getting four stars, but i find the place a bit too noisy on weekends- pretty much the reason why i don't come here unless someone else suggests it. I'm not sure if the domed ceiling has anything to do with it, but the acoustics in this place can make it hard to hear the person sitting next to you, so i find myself focusing more on trying to actively listen to my table's conversation than focusing on the flavor of my food! I was here once on a quieter weekday and had no problems though!

When i come here, i usually get their omelet dish- you get to build your own from a pretty good selection of ingredients, and to make it sweeter (figuratively, not literally...), it comes with a little salad! It's super reasonably priced and i always feel like i get my money's worth! I also still need to try their breakfast poutine. I would never order this myself, but my boyfriend got it a few weeks ago and it looked pretty good... Actually, it must have been good because he forgot to save me a bite when i had asked him if he would let me try it after he ordered the dish!

One night after class I decided to pop in here for some vegan dinner. I had heard they had vegan Mac&Cheese, and if you know me, this is definitely a plus.
It's really dark, but compared to the packed Foundation across the street, at least I could see my food. They only had one person working the floor, which made getting a seat fairly confusing, but she was really nice, so no complaints there really.

So the food! I ordered the appetizer sized Lightning Fries, and a small side order Mac and Cheese.
The "poutine" like fries were, alright. Not nearly as good as I had hoped. They pack it REALLY high, so you can't really mix it, and unlike the original, it uses more of a chili than a gravy. I was hoping for more of a gravy poutine with the fixings, so I was disappointed.
The vegan Mac&Cheese however was delicious. Creamy, flavourful, and baked, it really was great.
I felt like desert after, and as they only had vegan chocolate cake on the menu, I asked the waitress if there was anything else. She said she'd sub the regular ice-cream to soy for the ice-cream vegan choco-chunk cookie sandwich. If there was something that beat the pasta, it was this. I wish the cookies had been warmed though in order for it to compare to the one at the Spiral Diner (TX), but it was tasty the way it was.

All in all, not bad! I'm not rushing to go back, but I'm glad I know it's there.

Funky and smilin', our hipster-esque server greets the young man with a deep brown beard at the table beside us, "Well hello there! You're lookin' mighty beardy today!" We all laughed. Our server was fabulous and let us hang out there for a good 3 hours. It was midday with a steady flow of traffic.

I had the Shrimp Bacon Avocado Wrap with Butternut Squash soup ($11). Filling, delish and nourishing with natural ingredients and so reasonably priced.

Wallflower = always a solid choice along Main.

    What a cute little diner.

At first glance, I didn't think it was open but we had passed so many little eateries on this Saturday morning that were packed and this one was open and had plenty of seating.

I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was like an actual sandwich.  Typical breakfast fare with eggs, bacon and cheese but it also had lettuce, onion and tomato.  The bread was a kaiser roll of sorts.  Very tasty and it came with some hash browns.

The service was quick and friendly.  They made you feel as though you could hang out there for a while without an issue.

In the trendy Mount Pleasant district.

I would check it out again.

It used to be the Aurora Bistro which was more upscale and classy, now it is The Wallflower which is funky, more hipster and fun. My friends decided to have our reunion lunch here because one of my buddies has been here so many times that he's already tried around 60% of the menu. And that guy is hard to please.

We were lucky we came just before a huge surge of people arrived. We were seated immediately, but weren't greeted at the entrance. Our server was nice and friendly, but the service was horribly slow (even before the slew of people arrived).

Around the table, we ordered the Meatloaf Benny, the Peach Benny, the Hummus Dip and the special of the day which was a green plate, with black bean salsa and chez Benny (which he mauled as soon as he got it, must have been delish). The Peach Benny was quite good, it was a nice portion too. The Hummus Dip is delicious as well. The Meatloaf Benny was nice and moist, and the hollandaise looked like Cheez Whiz but didn't taste like hollandaise at all - it was much better. Overall, it was really good. Great price too.

What I also liked about this place was there was a vegan menu! I ain't no vegan (and life is too short to not enjoy meat), but if you or someone you know is vegan, they could (potentially) enjoy dining here.

The only thing I wasn't very impressed with was the speed of service. Kind of slow (like I said). We were ready to go right after our meal and we waited 10-15 mins for a server to get our bill, right as there were people being made to wait by the entrance. But overall pretty good. I would definitely come back.

3.5/5 but since there's no half stars, I'm bumping it up to 4/5. Good food, good price, good times.

One Saturday afternoon, was wondering along Main, and my boyfriend needed food, fast! He wanted brunch, and as luck would have it, Wallflower served brunch till 4pm! Nice and cool interior (with some artwork on the wall I would love to have purchased had it not been so pricey!). We instantly had large glasses of water brought over with ice cubes.
I ordered the butternut squash soup,  a dish which I've never tried before. YUM! It was thicker than I expected, and very tasty! I would have liked a bit more bread to dip in, but what can ya do. Would like to visit again soon so I can try something new!

I'm surprised that I haven't made it to The Wallflower sooner than I did.

While Vancouver doesn't quite have the Gluten Free/Vegetarian/Vegan selection that my current town (Portland) does, it seems that this market is growing at a rapid rate. I still remember that the only place you could go for decent Vegetarian/Vegan eats at 1am was The Naam (which I still adore) but fortunately this is changing.

I was staying very close to The Wallflower on this visit and decided it would be a good place to stumble over to at 11pm for a late dinner. I ordered the gardenburger with a side salad which was quite delicious. It wasn't overly moist or soggy, but not too dry like gardenburgers often are. The bun was fluffy, moist and delicious and the vegetables were fresh and given in generous quantities.

My dining partners ordered the vegan (and gluten free) poutine and the lightning fries. The poutine was surprisingly good (I'm typically not a fan of conventional poutine) and the chili on the lightning fries was too die for. Often chili on fries can be too rich, but this chili was the perfect fry-topper.

Overall, I really did enjoy my experience here. The drinks were affordable (by Vancouver standards) and the beer selection was pretty good as well. I think I'll be making this a regular stop any time I'm back in town.

Went here over a year ago when passing through Vancouver using a groupon. It was brand new back then so it was kind of a novelty using a coupon for dinner.

We got the Mac n Cheesy with daiya and the Portobello burger. Both were good.  This was our first ever encounter with daiya and non soy based cheese so it was a surprise.  It was pretty good overall.

We got good service here and I think if we were in the area we'd come back.  We just moved to Vancouver now.

I wasn't too impressed the first time going there. Their food quality is not on par with many Vancouver restaurants, but I was really hoping to find it better the second time around. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. When a waffle looks like it came from a box and tastes like it came from a box, guess what? it definitely came from a box. Not to mention the amount of syrup it was swimming in! Whatever happened to serving syrup on the side? Not impressed at all. My second time is my last time here.

Was super excited to try this place since it had a gluten free menu!  I had the gluten free canuck burger - with no cheese since I'm allergic.  I read in other reviews that they offered Daiya cheese but the server didn't offer it as an option.  Maybe they were out?

The burger was not bad.  It didn't have enough sauce on it so it was a bit dry.  I added lots of ketchup.  It had one piece of bacon - for that price I would put 2 pieces.  It was so tall and the bun was so small that I ended up eating it with a fork and knife since it was kind of impossible to eat without making a huge mess.  For those of you with un-hinging jaws it would be no problem.

The french fries were dry and unseasoned - I could definately make something better at home.  Kind of disappointed in that - they should try making some home cut fries or something - seems like it would suit the place better.  I didn't bother to finish them.

My friends had the spinach dip appetizer and said it was amazing.  Everyone enjoyed thier meal and the waitress was friendly.  The water glasses were so small and I ran out of water and was super thirsty for most of the time.  So it would have been nice to get more refills.

The atmosphere is kind of fun with cartoons playing on a screen and some funky art pieces for sale.  It was fairly noisy and it's probably a good idea to make a reservation if you're going on a Friday with a bigger group.

Overall, the food was just ok but the experience was positive so I wouldn't mind going again to try something else on the menu.

Wallflower has slowly built up a devoted following in Vancouver, offering hearty and delicious fare at affordable prices. The menu reinvents traditional diner food, offering a healthy alternative to greasy spoon fare. For example, one of our all-time favourite dishes here is the vegan macaroni and cheese. It's dairy-free, made with almond milk and soy cheese, with the option of mixing in chopped up veggie hots dogs. It is a truly satisfying dish, even pleasing hardcore meat eating friends who would never otherwise dream of eating vegan food. In addition to the numerous vegetarian options, there is even a complete gluten-free menu, ensuring the Wallflower a special place in the bellies of people with celiac disease. They support local artists with gallery showings, and even seem to have regular comic art jams on weekends. All in all, a great spot for brunch, lunch or dinner.

Really good food with lot of veggie options, good prices and cheap drinks. The servers are always super friendly and it's a really laid back place to hang out. Try the Hummus Melt!

MAC AND CHEESE, MAC AND CHEESE. I got mine with real cheese and veggie dog slices. Holy crap was it ever good, I think probably up there in the ranks of "best ever!"

My friend had a pulled beef sandwich and tackled that beast for about an hour and finally came out victorious. The portions are definitely generous and the food is crazy tasty.

There are daily food and drink specials which is always fine by me. Hopefully next time I come it'll be on a vegetarian pot pie day, I want to try one!

    Wallflower, I lurve you!

I have been a happy patron for a little over a year now and can honestly say I have never, ever, had a bad experience.  I think the Wallflower has to be my favourite brunch/dinner restaurant in all of Vancouver.

Huge points for having a regular menu, vegan menu and gluten free menu.  I have friends who are vegan and gluten free and this is pretty much they only restaurant (I know of) in town where we can all be satisfied.

Oh and did I mention that its pretty cheap? $4 well drinks, $3.50 Old Mil!

Met a friend for lunch here the other day and though the food was lovely, I would never go back due to the poor service we received.

The waitress was indifferent to us for most of the meal with the occasional flair of irritation when we bothered her for such items as a glass of water or our bill.

I really want to give this place more stars. Mainly because I've met the owner before and she was lovely and this was the location of my first ever yelp party that got me hooked. Everything at the party had been fantastic.
Today we went from breakfast and it was OK, I guess I'd hoped for more. The coffee was nice and hot but a bit flavourless. I ordered the breakfast poutine because, well, why wouldn't you? I've never seen poutine on a breakfast menu so the choice just seemed so obvious. I would have liked it more if the poached eggs weren't hard poached. I was anticipating delicious egg yolks running all over my cheesy potatoes. Didn't happen. The bacon chopped up was fine and the cheese curds were plentiful. It just lacked a little something.
I love the decor in this place and our server was fine. I'll definitely go back to give it another try as I really do want to love it.

Finally! I'm at The Wallflower, can't believe it took me that long.

Service in the beginning was a little rocky, but was totally redeemed quickly.

I wanted so many things on the menu, so seldom do I get so many choices when eating out.  Finally decided that I must try the Lightening Fries and the Mushroom Bruschetta.  My dinner mate had the Bacon Shrimp Salad Wrap.

Mushroom Brushcetta: FANTAFRICKINMARVELOUS!  This is a must if you go.
Lightening Fries: Not my favourite, with all the chilli piled on top, the fries just got all soggy.  I think they need to change the dishware its served in.
Wrap:  Was HUGE!  And apparently awesome too.

R&B draft pint @ $4.50, not bad, not good, atleast it won't break the bank.  The wine list is a head scratcher tho, go see for yourself.

All in all, very enjoyable.  Love the decor, the people, the food.  Must go back to try the pizza.

The Wallflower is one of many reasons why I can keep loving Vancouver.

Brunch until 4pm. Great atmosphere. A nice place to hang with your lady friends and catch up. All different and assorted cutlery, plates and most of all.. COFFEE MUGS! I love it.

I had a $7 basic breakfast. It filled my tummy right up! $7. This is unheard of in most establishments in Vancouver and for that alone I will come back. My meal cost me $10 including coffee.

p.s. they have marble rye. marble rye is my favourite bread. more places need to serve marble rye!

I came here for brunch to use up some Groupons and was actually really impressed.  I liked the decor, as it was cozy but not dark and gloomy.  There was an air of retro but also contemporary, and everything felt good.  The purple bathroom is also adorable.

Aaaand for food... Brunch is a glorious meal.  It's that meal where you don't feel guilty for pigging out because technically you are making up for two meals.  However, sometimes I find brunch food can be too heavy, and then I just feel gross for a couple hours.  My brunch at Wallflower was, on the other hand, awesome.  It was a perfect amount of food, and I appreciated that the hollandaise sauce on the benny wasn't gobbed on and super thick.  I am guessing it wasn't a traditional hollandaise, and may have been slightly cheese based, but whatever it was, I preferred it to the thick, yellow stuff that comes in powdered form from a can.  Anyhow, I had the crab cake benny, which was delightful, and made with real crab.  Holy crap!  The red potato home fries were also delish, as red potatoes make excellent bite sized morsels.

The service was attentive and quick, and quite pleasant.  I was also pleasantly surprised when I got the bill that the taxes were included in the menu price.  Woohoo!

My dining companion/man friend had a burger, which was apparently good.  However, he's a white bread kinda guy, so would have preferred an option for the bun.  Perhaps you can request a white bun, but I didn't see it on the menu.

Also, Kudos to the folks of Wallflower for making meals that everyone can eat.  I found the menu full of interesting options, too.  There has definitely been a lot of thought put in to making these dishes.

I'd like to give this place another try during dinner or actual lunch to try out some of the other interesting options.  For now, 4.5 stars for this cute little diner.

I think I will conclude after my 2nd experience that this place is friggin' awesome for gluten free people who have limited options elsewhere.

But for the average Jane like me, I've had better.  This time I went for dinner with a friend and heard so many good things about the Grandma's fried chicken so I got that.   I was a bit disappointed because the pieces were small, I would have preferred mashed potatoes instead of fries, and it just wasn't so special.  The salad it came with was really good with a poppy seed dressing.

Their appetizers on the other hand were quite amazing looking.  I saw a poutine go by my that look amazing. And my friend and I shared the crab and apple cakes. Those were delicious! I couldn't get enough!

I'm sure I would come back, but I would just order something different.  The Wallflower is okay, just not my favorite.

First of all, I love the staff and the atmosphere at Wallflower. It's laid back, I never feel rushed while I'm grazing on my meal, and my coffee cup is always full when I have brunch. I love coffee refills that you don't have to ask for. Again, great staff. They get four stars.

But the food...meh. My spouse really likes the breakfast here, but I always find it lacking. They are really skimpy on the potatoes, which are often under-cooked and their version of hollandaise sauce is not my cup of tea. The food isn't bad, but I never crave it.

Same with lunch and dinner. The portobello burger itself is good, but the bun is terrible. Last time I had dinner, I removed the bun and ended up just eating the middle of the burger.

Wallflower is one of those places where you can take a variety of people and everyone will find something they can eat. No one is going to be blown away by their meal, but the atmosphere almost makes up for it.

I used my Groupon during an afternoon of cycling, having planned to try one of their over-the-top diner-tastic dinners, like the Meatloaf Wellington..

But having recently been stiffed in an Eggs Benendict experience elsewhere, when I saw the Wallflower offered one, I decided I had to exorcise the Eggs Benedict ghost of My Local Cafe (which I reviewed here, too).

So, what bike riding afternoon ISN'T IMPROVED by having a Newcastle Brown Ale and an Eggs Benedict, I ask you?

NOT MINE. I loved my Benny and the beer.

The fried hashbrowns were obviously cooked in fresh deep-fryer oil, it showed in the look and how they tasted, they were much better than I expected. The Benny was served with slices of real-off-the-shoulder ham, not the processed slices a lot of places use.

The sauce? Not perfect, a little thicker than a classic Benny's sauce should be, but it was still very, very good, and suited my needs exactly.

The service was really nice on both counts, and I'll be back.

The Wallflower is a cute little place, and much nicer than any diner I have been to. The art on the wall was for sale, and I always appreciate restaurants lending their walls to local artists.

I ordered the blue plate of the day, a blackened Halibut burger, but the waitress brought over the blackened Halibut with seasonal veggies instead. I decided it was the calorie gods watching over me, and didn't complain about the mix-up.

The fish was cooked just right, and we all know that fish can be easily over cooked. I loved the slices of peach which complimented both the fish, and the tasty veggies.

So in spite of the mix up, I'd go back, and recommend this place as a nice lil place to have a sip and nibble. Was a tiny bit on the loud side, so keep that in mind if you are looking for a quieter evening.
