Great place - liked to facial, bikini wax (thanks for not being PAINFUL!).  Great girl working on me - knew her stuff.  Great tunes playing and the vibe is upbeat and fun- like a NYC beauty bar - (it's not a quiet spa kinda place).  Will go back...

Went in for a pedicure in hopes of getting an ingrown dug out. Place is nice and clean, nice staff, but man are they overpriced for what you get. $50 buck for a pedicure that took like 20 minutes. She wouldn't go full on to get my ingrown out. For that price they should cut off my toe if I asked.
:-P For twenty dollars less I've gotten a better pedicure from two other places in town: Tiffany Nails and J&C Nails. Next time, I'll not be so lazy and take the streetcar or subway up town to save some cash and be able to walk without pain.

I enjoyed a quick pedicure here. My feet didn't feel relaxed and amazing afterward but they did look pretty. This place was bright and clean and the service was fast. They have a good selection of polish to choose from with lots of pretty colors.

I liked this place a lot. It was my first time getting a bikini wax so I was really nervous. I told the woman who was with me and she was so nice about it. She explained what she was going to do before hand and while she was waxing. It was calming for me.

I also got my legs waxed, which was okay. I've had better, but It was still good. I did have some hairs lefts but I didn't get really red (which I always do).

If you want to go to a place that you know is good. Go here.

Love the 10-Spot on Queen West! It's on my way home so when I pop in for my mani/pedi and occasional facial it's very convenient (they have *great* long hours!)

Appointments are always on time, you can book online (or by phone), I love the non-spa feel & casual vibe with really laid back staff (and by laid back I mean cool & easygoing - they are very professional!)

Manicures & pedicures are always nicely & thoroughly done. They are *soooo* clean & sanitize everything - I love it! And the trashy mags and 90's movies make me happy and help me relax!

    Always an enjoyable visit! :)

A note - try to book appointment in advance as walk-in appointments seem a bit scarce (especially weeknight evenings when there are less staff!).

$55 + tax and tip to get the fuzz waxed off your peach but very clean and thorough. They sanitize everything and they don't double dip their applicator sticks. I skipped on the cloth use though. I've been to other salons with questionable health practices (i.e. double dipping applicator sticks, no gloves) and am unsure as to how those places stay open. The 10 Spot is quite clean from what I can tell. TV playing in the background, I guess to pretend you're just kicking back on a lazy-boy without anything going on down south.

Erica is very quick, thorough, and explains stuff well. She left nothing behind.

Loyalty card: 9 of the same service gets you the 10th free (mani, pedi, facial, brazilian).

I like them and I think I will be back to try a facial or a pedicure sometime. A clean, effective place with a loyalty card... I'm sold!

Many good elements to this place, though I need to note that I am only reviewing them on their mani and pedi services (I don't normally avail of any kind of waxing or facial procedures so I can't comment on these in general).  Their booking system is accurate and precise and so far I have not encountered any delays with any of my appointments.Their range of services is great and the prices very reasonable - currently I'm trying out a system of going in for a full mani ($30) every four weeks and doing a quickie mani ($20) in between.

Nikki is extremely friendly and pleasant, does an excellent mani and pedi, and I always book her specifically. The rest of the staff are always very helpful and attentive. I am very satisfied with the level of cleanliness and sanitation practices they employ (check out their website for details on this).

As for atmosphere, both the pedi and mani stations are well-spaced and allow you to still maintain a little bubble of relaxation around you even when it gets crowded. It's hard not to space out people watching on Queen Street as you sip your complimentary tea between polish applications. There's lots of entertainment around to keep you somewhat distracted should you choose, mainly in the form of magazines and whatever semi-cheesy early 90's movie they happen to be playing on their TV that day. Suffice to say I always somehow end up pleasantly spaced out and distracted on my way to ultimately being very pleased with the end results of my mani and/or pedi. If that's not added value for your money, I don't know what is.

I had to get a facial really, really bad.  Like, face was about to explode into some serious ugliness that had to be attended to - immediately.
I was able to get into 10 Spot the next day, and even better, I could book online!
I showed up, was introduced to my esthetician, and was taken into the room immediately to get down to business.
This is a different facial than at other places, in that it isn't a dark room with ocean sounds playing in the background.  You are in a comfy chair in a well lit room, and you may be next to strangers.  Be not afraid.  Its great!  They are very clear about this on the website, so there are no surprises here.
They use Dermalogica products, which I love.
The facial was excellent, as were the extractions.  No complaints here!
    I would definitely go back!

I have been here 3 times for pedicure.  I have not had any other services, so I can't comment on anything else.  I will continue to get my pedicures here.  They last so long, and it is a good price.  They are very friendly and the place is super cute.  The have a frequent flyer program, which they keep track of for you in their computer.

After having a pretty bad waxing  experience at the other Ten Spot location I had vowed not to return, but when I found out that they do OPI Axium manicures and after seeing my girlfriend's amazing Axuim mani that she got done here I had to book myself one as Axium has become my newest obsession.  I also heard that they carry Dermalogica prodcuts and also after hearing many positives about the results Dermalogica gives I was interested to check out the line.

I opted at the last minute to get a French polish done and they were able to accomodate me but warned me that it would take extra time.  Overall the mani was done well, not exactly perfect though. I had to point out  a  few spots that were missed with removing my Axium polish that I came in with, and it seemed that my manucurist kept correcting her mistakes with polishing the white tips, so that part took absolutely forever.  I question just how much experience she had not only doing the french tips but with just using the Axium polish at all.  In total my mani took 90 minutes, a bit longer than I would've expected. I was suprised also that there was no hand massage given at the end as it usualy is with manis when the esthetician applies the moisturizer, I was told to head over to the product wall and apply my own hand moisturizer.  That part was slightly offputting as a full manicure should include a hand massage, even if just for a few minutes.

I did check out the Dermalogica products there and walked away with a couple free samples and purchased a travel kit with some face products, my estheticain scurried over when she saw me picking up a few prodcuts and looking at the lables.  She offered me the samples but didn't ask what was I looking for, what type of skin do I have, you know, the type of questions one would expect to be asked when shopping for skin care products.  Again, I question just how much training is given to the staff in educating them about thier product line.

Overall, though I am happy with the way my nails turned out,  I just have a hard time taking this place seriously.  I mean, thier website and signage around the spa is written in the tone of a trashy gossip column, the staff looks very scruffy dressed in jeans and althetic wear and are in no way professional or knowledgeable, I had a 90 min manicure seated in an uncomfortable chair right next to the front door so everytime someone entered or exited I got a nice gust of cold wind, and yet I'm still expected to pay very high prices for both service and prodcuts??

As Gavin Rossdale said in the '95 hit 'Everything Zen'---I don't think so.

I popped in for a mani-pedi, and was impressed they could take me quickly (within 2 hours of my walk-in). It was a Wednesday. Obviously a slow day.

In the past, I had tried to arrange an appointment, but found they were so busy, timing wasn't going to work out, unless I was interested in waiting 2 weeks for a time slot.

I did enjoy my pedi. The 'massage', wasn't anything to write home about - short and sweet.
But my feet weren't a mess, so I can't really judge the actual pedi. They didn't have much to do.

Mani was gentle & fshe did a good job.
She was quick to apply the mat turquoise colour I had picked out, and was impressed. No crap on the edges of my nail bed, which is usually my complaint when I get mani's with nail colours that could be considered a challenge.

It's been 4 days, and my hands have been through a lot ... and they're still looking great. No chips!

While the service was efficient, it was an expensive visit.
My manicure & pedicure cost me $121.52 - I also got a pair of those impulse buy flip flops because of course, I forgot mine at home.

While it was pretty good, I won't go back because of the price.
Too much really, even as a treat isn't not completely worth it.

Let's be honest, who enjoys completely disrobing in front of a total stranger -- who almost certainly has way less body hair than you do -- and then enduring up to an hour of hot wax and hair tugging? I'd reckon next to no one looks forward to their monthly waxing appointment, but The Ten Spot has made me dread my defuzzing date just a little less!

The Ten Spot is meticulously clean - everything from the main room where ladies are getting manis and pedis and watching the Sex And The City movie on a massive plasma TV to the private waxing and facial studios is tidy and spotless.

I can't recommend my esthetician Erica enough. She is supremely professional and her attention to detail is peerless - she preps your skin thoroughly, soothes it after every tear (that's "tear" as in "rip", not weeping - there are no tears to be had here) and she will go over your skin with a magnifying glass if necessary to remove every last hair.

The waxing rooms are private and as others have mentioned they have TVs with badass DVDs to distract you - I watched an episode and a half of Arrested Development - it was just enough to distract me from what I was doing to my body and to pass the time quickly! Wait a minute - am I actually saying I enjoyed my waxing session? Why yes, yes I am!

    $55 (full leg).

OK, so Brazilian waxes suck. They are going to suck no matter HOW great the place is.

BUT, that said, Ten Spot is the GREATEST place to go get the SCARIEST waxing done.

When I went, I got to watch Will & Grace while my hoo-ha (and everything else) was being taken care of. The staff members seem to all have a great sense of humour, while at the same time being extremely professional.

The place itself is gorgeous. It's clean, modern, and stacked with great beauty products as well (they carry Cake and Lovefresh, two of my absolute necessities). Go!

I called to book in for a mani-pedi and they told me they take the cost of the service off of your credit card in advance, I found it confusing. I just wanted to try them out, they have decent reviews here. I am a hairstylist, I would never miss a pedicure appointment, it makes our job a lot more comfortable. If the appointment is the same day, I don't understand pre-paying before your service is even rendered. I could better understand if it was to hold the booking, but pre-charging seems out of the ordinary.

Let's get this straight: I ain't your typical girly girl. I never wear make-up, I don't pay more than $20 for a haircut, and can be ready to start my day within 15 minutes of getting up.

But sometimes girls like me have those special occasions where we need that extra oomph and treatment. For me, this happens maybe once every three years, so when I do make an effort, I want it to be a pretty flawless experience.

I've had waxings before in other cities, with excellent service and results. The service here at 10spot was nothing less than that -- fun, in fact --and included a nice DVD diversion of Arrested Development to take my mind off of the pain.

However, the finishing treatment was nowhere near as slow and soothing as other spas I've attended. There were also leftover strands of hair that I didn't seem to catch when I was still there, which I could've returned to remedy... But the fact that these obvious strands weren't noticed says a lot about the attention given here.

It's a fine place for first-timers, and definitely a fun place to stop along Queen West, but I would definitely pay a little more and go elsewhere for my next appointment... which will, yes, be three years from now.

Toronto is  a tough city to find a place that will take same day appt for a pedi.. Perhaps its the nice weather and everyone and their mothers need to have top notch toes/feet.

I've been looking high and low all week!  Nikki did a great job on my long overdue feet.. Since this place is close to the office, it will be my go to place when I'm in town.. Thanks ladies!

Best wax in Toronto. Extremely professional, meticulous and HILARIOUS!

A Brazilian costs around $50, and if you get 9, the 10th one is on them. It's a totally unpretentious "hipster"-catering spa, which is clean and on time.

I know how difficult a good esthetician is to find...ask for Romana, but I hear they're all good.

The 10 Spot is where you go for two kinds of mani/pedi's: the fast, cheap and easy or the party kind.

They don't last all that long, and it's not the cheapest (in comparison to the Yonge street quick and dirty) but it's a nice joint wiht good conversation, good TV and quirky party ideas like, "Martini's and Manicures".

They have DVD players in their waxing rooms and they offer young, hip products, like vegan nailpolish. This is the place you go when you're a student or early twenties type, being all urban about it. Or you just want it fast, but not dirty.

Also, it should be noted, there isn't much on Queen West, so thank God for the 10 Spot, but if you need a top tier pedicure, you're gonna have to go uptown, and you're gonna pay AND it's gonna take 1.5 hours of Flare Magazine and natural fruit infused tea.

    Deal with it;)

I brought my mom here and it was okay. She doens't like new places, but was quite comfy here, which is good.

I really liked the interior, decor and feel of the place.

My complaint is that when she did my pedi, they used the metal scrapper and a metal dead skin scrubber (rather then the emery board kind) and it scratched up my feet really badly. It took 6 months for it to get normal again.

Now I'm reading everyone else's reviews, I think I might go there again for a wax, but avoid anyone touching my feet.

I've been going to the Ten Spot for a while now for pedicures, which have always been great.  However, recently I decided to get a facial at the facial bar and get a brazillian.  The facial was very relaxing and I totally looked younger for a couple of days afterwards, bonus! The brazillian was the most unscary, tolerable and almost pleasant I've ever had.  I watched Arrested Development and chatted with Romana, who was doing the waxing. She was great, as was the hard wax they use.

I've now been back to the 10 spot for several other services... manicure, eyebrow wax, and facial. So far, so good!

    Manicure:
The manicurist... Nikki, I think? sorry!... made sure I was happy with the shape/length. I had a couple short nails, and she checked that I was ok with the lengths not being the exact same. She also talked me through each stage. Clearly high quality products and sterile equipment used. Good polish application - no need for cleaning up the edges. Afterwards, I was not rushed out of the salon. I was encouraged to sit and relax while my nails dried. I sat with my friend who was getting a pedicure.
Less than perfect: the polish started to chip after 2 days. It probably would have lasted longer if I hadn't done dishes without gloves on, so that's mostly my fault. Always wear rubber gloves, ladies. The cost was a little bit higher than I would normally want to pay at $30. I would probably do the "quickie" manicure once or even twice before going back for the full version.

    Eyebrows:
I don't have an especially unique eyebrow shape, so I don't expect a wax to be difficult. And it wasn't. My technician was friendly and quick. Eyebrows were good. The end.

    Brazilian:
I know I reviewed it before... but I was still nervous going back for another one. I booked sort of last minute, so I couldn't ask for the same tech as last time. Even though the products used are the same, sometimes salons don't have consistency amongst their staff. From what I've seen, The 10 Spot does have very consistent services. Once again, I've forgotten my tech's name... anyway, she was also very speedy but still thorough. When I'm on a strict budget (or should be, anyway) I don't look forward to dropping $60 on a wax, but I have yet to regret it.

    Facial:
Many spas offer a dozen types of facials, or more. The 10 Spot does not do that, so don't expect a menu of treatments and aromatherapy stuff. But you also don't have to expect a $100+ price tag. The facial is still personalized to your skin type, and it is very relaxing. Skin felt great afterwards but no dramatic difference. I was not pressured into buying any products. I hate when salons/spas are constantly trying to sell you stuff rather than just helping you enjoy the experience.
