It's finally spring so a visit to the Teahouse is a must. Pick a nice sunny afternoon and go enjoy the food and more importantly, the view.
The food is a solid 4 stars but the ambiance and location pushes this place to 5 stars easy.
I'd stay away from the caesar salad unless you prefer your salad served up as one giant piece of lettuce. I found that a bit strange. Nothing like Hy's caesar that's for sure. I usually get the burger and it is always delish. The pizza is pretty good too. Can't go wrong with this place if you want to impress that out of town visitor. Definitely a great date restaurant that's for sure. -
Review from Sammy C.
I loved this place! Came here with my fiance after driving around the Stanley Park. We had to pay the meters outside this restaurant though.
Firstly, we thought this would be some tea place where you drink tea and chill; but it was a very nice restaurant with full bar. We ordered some mussels, clams and red wine. The mussels were huge, fresh and perfectly cooked! They surely know how to cook them; we did order a second plate and requested for plain garlic and butter sauce, it was amazingly good! I miss it already while talking about it.
Price was reasonable as well. I was originally willing to give this place a 5-Stars; however, the waiter didn't even say "thank you" after we paid the check, that was kind of impolite. Or, maybe 15% tips for lunch wasn't enough for him? -

I love the Teahouse, this is where we had our Wedding reception. They are so wonderful to deal with and the food is always delicious.
The view is stunning, especially on a summer day. You can watch the sun set below the horizon and it's practically the most romantic spot in Vancouver.
They have a shuttle that goes from Downtown to the Teahouse that's free - so it's perfect if you want to drink and don't want to drive! -

3-4.5 stars on the food. I think there has been a few chef changes.
Service: Awesome. John F, the server always provides great service. He's such a pro, I think he can do his job in his sleep. (He paints too ...worth checking out his art)
Atmosphere: Stunning! I love coming here on warm summer evenings. -

Hostess was gracious to seat us at a table that we had requested (just left of the fireplace). The place was very busy, but not out of control. Wait staff were very attentive and pleasant even amongst the busy brunch hour. Spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. Food was great and affordable. Just go for the incredibly warm ambiance. If I ever get the opportunity to come back to this fine city, I will certainly make this a place where I would revisit! Advise: There is no dress code (as far as I am aware) but it would be smart to dress smart casual.

Review from Jen H.
Beautiful views, fantastic and warm service, great BC wines, English tea, and a fabulous escape from the typical sunny-to-overcast-blustery-back-to-sunny Vancouver weather patterns.
And, as many Yelpers have mentioned, it's a wonderful venue for a romantic date, a brunch out with family or friends, or if you simply want to have some escape snuggle time with your favorite book. What a terrific break for anyone walking the park!
Tourist trap? Yeah, but had its share of locals, too. Sporting a Canucks scarf doesn't hurt to earn you a great table, either. -

My perfect rating hasn't changed but I wanted to update my review since I got married at the Teahouse this past summer. After having an amazing brunch while venue hunting, my husband and I were so thoroughly impressed with the beauty of the place/scenery and the attention of the staff (including the manager) that we immediately booked it for our wedding!
We had 55 people and booked The Conservatory (which can accommodate up to 70 seated guests) for our reception and the Conservatory Green (the lawn directly outside the room) for our ceremony beforehand.
We worked closely with the Teahouse Event Coordinator to plan all of the details and they took care of meticulous items like tent and chair rentals, park permits, etc and helped us with our menu selections so that everyone had the right amount of food and drink. They were such a pleasure to deal with and planned to perfection.
Our wedding was everything we could have possibly dreamed of and the Teahouse exceeded our expectations. All of our guests fawned over the incredible Pacific Northwest cuisine, the stunning surroundings, and the friendly and attentive staff.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Went to Teahouse on New Year's Eve with my family and had a great time.
The food was good. The staff was friendly. And I'm sure the view would be splendid if it wasnt pitch black when we were there =P
They have a pretty good variety of wine. I picked the pinot grigio from Italy at $45 a bottle. Was very pleasant =)
For food, I ordered the teahouse baked mushroom (delightful), the BC salmon, medium rare with a rosemary glaze (YUMZA) and the chocolate milano cake (WOW).
Oh I agree this would be a romantic venue for evening dates (the view, the ambiance, the candles and a fireplace), however it was a little louder than I anticipated. -

Even though The Teahouse doesn't serve high tea, the location is so fantastic that it really doesn't matter what it serves. What a classy place, I love this place!!! It's location, location, location!!! The late lunch at The Teahouse was the most memorable dining experience I've had during my short stay in Vancouver. This is my number 1 favorite restaurant in Vancouver at the moment, not that I know that many good restaurants in Vancouver anyways, LOL. Situated in the scenic Stanley Park overlooking the harbour, you get 360° of gorgeous idyllic view from the restaurant. You can't beat this place as far as location is concerned, I had to automatically give 5 stars just for the priceless ambiance alone.
The food is also pretty good, which is an added bonus to the already excellent setting. I've had Manhattan clam chowder and BC Salmon burger and they were both delicious, especially the salmon burger. It's the best salmon burger I've had!!! The salmon was so juicy and the sauce enhanced the flavor of the salmon without overpowering it. The service too was attentive and excellent. I'm telling you, this is a must-visit place if you are in Vancouver!!!Listed in: Vancouver

In terms of location, the Teahouse is hard to beat. It feels like you've driven for hours to some remote destination nestled in nature, when really you've just driven to the far side of Stanley Park. It's a great place for a small occasion, or a larger one -- in my case, I came as part of a large, private party.
The food is tasty and presentable without being fussy. The FLAT IRON STAKE & FRITES WITH ROASTED SHALLOT JUS was well executed, as was the DUCK CONFIT WITH CREAMY MASHED POTATOES. This is my kind of comfort food! -

staff were very friendly, and menu was satisfactory.
I will bring my friends there for sure. -

I have been coming to the Teahouse for many years. It was a family haunt for decades and we have shared many great plates of their famous stuffed mushrooms.
Unfortunately, I've noticed a downturn in the quality of food since the Sequoia Company took over. The food quality isn't the same. Last time I was there I ordered the crab cakes and they were terribly over seasoned. The stuffed mushrooms were drizzled with a balsamic reduction which didn't make sense to me. (Why mess with perfection!?) But for a Sunday afternoon the sangria, view and familiarity are comforting. -

Great location, consistently great food and very attentive and friendly staff. This is what a restaurant should be. The main dinning area is open and bright with wonderful views of the water, but it manages to remain intimate at the same time. Try the mussels, perfect, not those brown disgusting things most places seem to pass off as food.
If you want to have an impressive meal with someone, go here, it is pretentious in the slightest, just wonderful quality all round. -

Its been ages since i went here and MUST go again soon.
The thing I remember most about this restaurant was the service.
The waiter pulled my chair out for me and placed my napkin on my lap and then stood "at the ready" to fill our water glasses. My kids were little at the time so they were new to certain things but we were making them "try" everything. Well my 4 (or 5 or so) year old decided she didnt like the taste of something, made a face and mister waiter leans forward with a napkin and my daughter spits her unwanted mouthful right into his hand LOL how amazing is that??? -

My family and I were visiting in Vancouver last week. Before heading to the Vancouver Aquarium, we decided to grab brunch/lunch before heading on over.
We were quickly seated and received the brunch menu. Boy, was I happy.
My parents had ordered the Manahattan style clam chowder. I've never actually had Manhattatn style clam chowder - but boy was it good.
I ordered myself the smoked salmon eggs benedict -- however, they had messed up my order and gave me an eggs benedict. Despite that, they had amazing service and was very friendly. I finally got my smoked salmon eggs benedict fairly quickly and it was the best smoked salmon eggs benedict I've ever had. The orange creme fraiche complimented the smoked salmon VERY well. The potatoes were so-so, but what do you expect out of homefries?
Great service! Lovely view! Great food! Definite recommend for those visiting Vancouver. -

I LOVE the Teahouse. My family has been going there regularly since 1989 when we all moved here. I can't remember ever having anything to eat that wasn't delicious. I can't ever remember not thinking the service was impeccable.
The one memory that we think of every time we go there is my Grandmother's reaction when she came to visit us shortly after we moved.
She sat staring out the window at the view of the boats on the water and didn't say a word throughout the meal. She was a talker so my parents asked her if she was having a nice time. All she did was turn to them and say "I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life."
My suggestion; take every out of town visitor you have to the tea house for brunch, if possible ride your bike there!

The view was great, they were accom0dating with great service. We ordered the cheese plate, mixed green salad, the pork chop and fish and chips, and all were quite good. Not a huge fan of the sauce on the pork chop, felt it was a tad on the salty side, but I'm sensitive to saltiness since I try to cook lower sodium dishes, so I'll just chalk it up to that. They even treated us with an on the house dessert for our anniversary. Great place for a special occasion or a cozy lunch. Do be aware that if it's before 6pm you must pay to park.

A great view of a beautiful sunset, trees, and the beaches of Vancouver. A very romantic atmosphere for a hot date. However that is about all I can really say. The server was friendly, but the food was very mediocre. It seems they have a strange obsession for lemon rind. I ordered the prawns for a appy, which came with a strange tasting lemon sauce, and then I ordered the smoked salmon flatbread, again had some strange citrus rind aftertaste that I was dying to get rid of. My throat also got itchy from some allergic reaction from one of the veggies on the salmon. It was also quite dry.
Will not go again for the price and blah tasting food. I can get a nice view sitting on the park or beach for free. -

Oh, you pretty thing, I wish I could love you!
As my Uke family celebrates on Christmas Eve, my bf and some bffs spent our Christmas Day dinner here, deciding to indulge in the set menu. I have spent a lot of December 25s in restaurants, and as a general rule of thumb set menus are always a bit disappointing, but when we arrived my hopes were high.
The restaurant was beautiful, the view gorgeous and the costumed carolers were wonderful, but - uh oh. The hostess ignored us for about 5 minutes until I gave her a polite prompt. We were seated, our waitress complained about working on Christmas, and then out came the three courses - sigh.
1) Fishy, schlocky, overly creamy bad 1970's Mushrooms Neptune. Finishing this dish felt like a chore. Why did I keep eating? Why? Whyyyyy?
2) Turkey Dinner (this pescetarian broke edge for Xmas) - dry, huge rolls of turkey filled with slimy stuffing. The mashed potatoes weren't so much mashed as banged around for a bit - were the huge lumps intentional? :( The gravy had a wee bit of Chinese five spice in it - wrong flavour profile - sad face. Boyfriend had salmon, which he liked, and squash puree, which almost made him plunge into a depression.
3) Pumpkin cheesecake - a bit dry, but yum!
I will definitely give this lovely location a second chance when I can go a'la carte, but for set menus - boo. :C -

Excellent views, great service, terrific food!
I was looking for a place with a great location, great view, and great food to take friends from out of town for brunch, I made reservations at The Teahouse. I had never been there before, but the Yelp reviews convinced me.
When I made the reservations I told them we were bringing friends from out of town, and asked for a table with a good view. They gladly obliged and we sat beside the window overlooking Stanley Park and the ocean. Most tables have excellent views.
The service was top notch. Prompt and friendly. One person in our party was wearing dark clothing, and the server immediately rushed over and replaced her white napkin with a black one to ensure she did not get white lint on her clothing. Very attentive!
The food itself was terrific. Everyone in our party raved about it. I have a sweet tooth, so ordered the Belgian Waffles topped with peaches, walnuts and vanilla cream. It was delicious, but in retrospect, a bit too sweet for a main course. My fault for ordering something that is billed more as a desert item - but I still loved it.
I've lived in Vancouver for 20 years. I can't believe I'd never found the Teahouse before! -

We went for Sunday brunch on an absolutely stunning day and I must say the locale
was perfect! We had reserved through Yelp and had a good table at the window, both
of us oriented towards the view. The brunch offerings are pretty standard fare but well
done. Our waiter Abdul was as attentive as could be- the place was packed. The only
downside was a nearby table with 4 young women who made more noise than the rest
of the room put together, it was a real distraction from our enjoyment. Is it possible to
ask the maitre d' to ask them to be a little quieter? I had no desire to make anyone else
uncomfortable but that left me uncomfortable! Next time I'll say something... -

The Teahouse was, without a doubt, one of the most wonderful dining experiences I've had in Vancouver in recent months.
I visited with my mom, one of my best friends and her mom for a mother/daughter double dinner date. We were instantly greeted by friendly staff, seated in a bright dining room overlooking English Bay and treated to delicious mango margaritas to start.
Each of us tried a different dish and none of us were disappointed. The salads were crisp and fresh, the soup was piping hot and full of flavour and our grand finale of a dessert tray was beyond scrumptious.
It was gray and raining when we visited, but that didn't trump the stellar view or the colourful tulips in the surrounding garden. The Teahouse also features a patio which I'm excited to visit in the summertime for a beer and some flatbread pizza.
I'll definitely go again! -

The view at the window seat is superb!! ! ! Especially good in the Summer time on Sunday afternoon let's say.
The food is pretty good, but the service is inconsistent.
The younger staffs have been very attentive and genuine. This one older lady, in her 40s or 50's maybe was very rude. She would be very curtsy and will give you a negative answers if you ask her something. I still remember that bad service and I have not returned since then because of her, not the food. I would love to go back if she's no longer working with them and if I can sit close to the open window! -

Started off with an irish coffee to warm me up, after a morning in the cold drizzle at Stanley Park. Moved on to fish and chips, which were wonderfully prepared.. They tasted fresh, with great breading and tender meat.
What better to pair with the fish and chips than a Molson's Lager? -

The brunch at the teahouse was one of the best meals I've had in the last month! The smoked salmon quiche was absolutely delicious. Our server was excellent and she suggested that we try the croissants - I'm glad she did because they were also very tasty. The outdoor seating area was beautiful. Everything about our visit was fabulous and I'm looking forward to going back!

I was given a gift-card to this restaurant as a going away present. I thought it was a very sweet gesture (I was moving from Toronto to Vancouver). We decided to use in in the summer time, we figured it would be the best time of year to go. We live in the west end so we walked down along the sea wall, it's a bite of a walk, but nice on a beautiful night.
The whole evening far surpassed our expectations, the food was wonderful, our waitress was a sweet older woman with a great sense of humor and the view was spectacular. I ordered a sweet pea soup to start, so fresh and tasty. My boyfriend ordered a ceasar salad, it was also fab. For a main I ordered a Mediterranean salad and scallops and my boyfriend got a on of the steaks. No complaints about anything, it was a perfect evening.
Next time someone is visiting from out of town, I would love to take them here. -

Excellent wine and food options at budget-friendly prices.
My husband and I had stopped to see if they served afternoon tea, and instead were tempted to stay by their dinner menu (it also helped that they don't seem to serve afternoon tea, contrary to their name).
We shared the unassumingly named Salt & Pepper Squid appetizer (with lime aioli -- CAD$8). It was simply prepared, with small dabs of lime aioli accenting the lightly flavoured dish. For our mains, I had the Confit Duck Leg with braised cabbage & squash purée for CAD$19, and my husband had the Roasted Sablefish with soubise, and brussel sprouts (CAD$28). Both were exceptional dishes: stand-outs on their own, and excellently paired with their sides. Each mouthful was a delicious new experience.
We chose 3 wines by the glass to accompany our meals -- all 3 choices were exceptional pairings for our meals. That sounds like I'm complimenting myself, which I guess is partly true -- it's also true, though, that I mean to point out that they've spent some time putting some thought into their meal pairings.
We finished with a coffee crème brûlée (w. hazelnut madeline) for dessert. Perfectly caramelised, not-too-thick, not-too-thin sugar crust, and balanced coffee flavours. The madeline was a very nice touch and a great accompaniement.
Service pushed the experience over the top -- our server was attentive, unobtrusive, and seemed genuinely interested in our honest feedback. She was also willing to offer suggestions but never intruded or overwhelmed. It's a very special and rare skill. They should make sure they pay that woman top dollar.
As other reviewers have noted, the surroundings are hard to beat -- breathtaking is an adjective that's repeatedly used -- for good reason. -

I visited the Teahouse for lunch while using my Groupon I bought a few months back. The Teahouse has very similar decor and atmosphere as the Fish House at Stanley Park.
First, it does take a scenic route around Stanley Park in order to reach this restauarant, unless you are riding the bike around the seawall from English Bay to Third Beach.
Anyways, as for the food, I started with the salt and pepper Squid ($8) which was a bit heavy on the crispy batter I thought. The limes provided was a little dry so I had a hard time to get any citrus flavor with it as it also came with little spicy jalapeno peppers. As for the main course, I had the burger ($17) and it was pretty good I thought. Very rich and juicy as it had all the fixins as a well as cheese and portabello mushroom and bacon on top the patty. It came with fries which I thought was a little bit over done. They were very crunchy and would probably be hard for anyone with poor teeth health. I washed it all down with a sleeve of Stanley Park Beer ($6).
The service is what I expected from a mid/upper scale type of restaurant. The view is wonderful on a sunny afternoon at the Teahouse. However, I did find the food came out a little bit slow as I was only eating for one and it took almost an hour and 20 minutes before I left. Otherwise, the host and waitress were both attentive and very good.
Overall , a 4 out of 5 stars from my view. Slightly pricey but it is a great place for a date, out of town visitor or to take your mom/dad/grandma/granddad too. -

What can I say? I guess I'm just an easy grader (people have *said* that about me).. Anyway.. bottom line.. speaking as a tourist.. If you come upon this place in your visit to Stanley Park.. and you happen to be hungry.. you simply must stop here for your lunch or dinner.. We did.. even tho' we felt a little under-dressed once we walked in.. the staff paid no mind.. gave us a nice seat.. cooperated with us in our chit-chat efforts.. we had just landed at the airport a few hours before.. and were killing time until we could officially check-in at our hotel..
Good food. Fine scenery.. in a really idyllic setting. Chit-chatty wait person. Oh.. impeccable washrooms!!!! -

My family and I went here for lunch and enjoyed a gorgeous view sitting outdoors in early July.
Service was a little slow because it was starting to get busy with the lunch crowd, but we were in no rush. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we asked for recommendations of what to order.
Everything we ordered was delicious! Here's what we ate:
Calamari appetizer (had a little kick/spice to it!)
Linguine with Clams (light and tasty)
Sablefish (tastes similar to chilean seabass)
Highly recommend the Sablefish. Two of my family members said it was the best thing they ate during our whole 1 week trip in Vancouver! -

Well, my update is much better. Service is where it is!
I had made reservations for 6 of us on opentable. Shortly before our trip we invited to European visitors. I tried to change the table from 6 to 8 online without success. So I called. "Oh. mother's day brunch!" "Oh, Sh*t!"
No, they accommodated us, no problem.
Beautiful table, fabulous service, superb wine! Great ambiance and view.
They had a brunch buffet!

I came here for brunch with friends during the winter and we had superb service. We arrived a half hour before we the restaurant opened and they let us in the wait inside and even offered us coffee while we waited. Everything we ordered was delicious and our waiter was great. It was definitely a five star experience.
The excellent experience we had at Sequoia Grill actually made us consider having our wedding reception here. Then we met with the events coordinator and felt really brushed off. It was a totally different vibe from the brunch we enjoyed the month before. -

What did I have for dinner tonight? Pan seared Halibut with fingerling Potatoes, asparagus and broccoli. YUM.
But it's really the WHERE did I have it. The Teahouse in Stanley Park. What a nice setting. We ate outside on the patio. Casual but elegant. Excellent service.
The sun set into the water while we dined.

Sunset Dinner was fantastic. The view was just beautiful, second only to the flavor of the Prime Rib. I haven't had such a flavorsome piece for a long long time. We started with a tasting platter which had generous charcuterie but contrastingly small wedges of cheese. I wasn't so impressed with the cabernet recommended with the steak, but the meal and service was otherwise excellent! Make sure you get a table on the patio if the weather is good..

Definitely date place material...
Alas, when I came here, I was not on a date. I was suprised that even though its called the Teahouse, they have 4 kinds of tea and none of it loose leaf. Oh well. That being said, I was still glad we tried this place out. Located in Stanley Parks south side, it is quite a nice drive to get to. The views are amazing! You basically look off onto Burrard inlet flanked by mountains and see ships go by. The outside seating is the best if available. The food was the limited lunch menu but it was still great!
salt and pepper squid w/ squid ink sauce: never had this with the critters in their own squid ink! It was very very tasty!
Burger w/ portabello mushroom, candian bacon, cheese and frites: Holy cow! this burger was solid! nice and juicy, heavy (in a good way). Fries were thin cut, crispy, a perfect burger mate.
A bit on the spendy side ($8 for squid, $17 for burger), it doesn't lack for taste. But, if you are on a date then splurging is part of it yes?
