Love, love, love the Sweat Shoppe. I got a great deal off Groupon to use toward 5 Spin classes and LOVED it.
- There was no Groupon-user discrimination (yay!).
- The staff is very friendly and nice. They let me borrow the bicycle shoes for all 5 Spin classes which was very cool. It made the ride with the bike that much better---I became "one with the bike" haha.
- I took 4 of my classes with Irina and she is absolutely FAB. She helped set me up to my bike and the bike shoes (which I still have trouble doing on my own!)
- The music she plays is awesome. It's never the same playlist and she opens me up to new types of music like Muse! haha who would've known. It always feels like a party or like I'm at the club because the music to Spin to is soo good! She's also motivational and a good Spinning coach.
- I took 1 of my classes with Gayle but found it too intense for my Beginner level. But she also had awesome music and great energy to keep you Spin, Spin, Spinning the whole time. It was interesting to see a different style of teaching.
- The facility itself is up to scale as far cleanliness standards are, which is a major plus. It never stinks in there like regular gyms. They keep that place pretty ventilated and stink-free even though the room itself is heated! They also have a large bathroom, which is convenient. And...they sell really cool merchandise all related to Spinning :D
- The one thing I DO have to mention is: PARKING. If you're not there 15-20 minutes early, it's extremely difficult to find parking and make it to class on time. There was one time where, even though I was 15 minutes early, the lot was full and so was street parking on all 3 sides of that block. It sucked because I was 5 minutes late. It didn't allow me time to properly set myself up to my bike. BUT regardless of that 1 incident, I still give it 5 stars. It was a great deal and I wish I was able to budget in those Spin classes because I really enjoyed them! -

BELIEVE IT.
I'm a pretty big fan.
After about two years of weekly/biweekly spin classes, I lost my favorite instructor at my stinky corporate gym. It was terrible. I felt like an exile, wandering from gym to gym, sitting in on classes without finding a class I could look forward to.
A handful of memberships and a groupon or two later, The Sweat Shoppe comes into my view. Classes are reasonably priced, it's clean, it's well-run and the bikes are in good working order. The instructors take a serious amount of pride in the workout, and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome & comfortable.
The classes utilize all the techniques I need classes to have, there's isolations, some intervals, jumps, some hill climbs and some upper body stuff. If you're thinking about trying spin for the first time, this is a great place to get started. If you've been spinning for awhile in some big corporate sweat shack, you will looooove the Sweat Shoppe!Listed in: Natural Beauty? HA!

I started working out consistently almost a year ago, with basic calisthenic type exercises, keeping the intensity very mild and low impact. As I got into better and better shape, I started looking for new, more challenging ways to keep getting fitter and looking better. I did have some spin experience before I started at the Sweat Shoppe, but other studios always fell short in one way or another. This place, however, has it all for me, and thus I keep going back.
First I like to say that I'm a warm weather kinda guy. When the temperature falls below 60 fahrenheit I become useless. This place is perfect for me in that sense, the sweat cycle is nice and hot, exactly the type of environment I love to be active in. The classes are intense and challenging. The teacher's cues are spot on and the burn I feel throughout my whole body is like no other.
Second, the parking is very convenient. It's free (how all parking should be), and right next to studio. It's ideal.
Third, the instructors are great. Jason in particular can moonlight as a motivational speaker. He really gives you reasons why you should be working hard. You're not there to waste time and money. You are there because you want to better yourself physically, and discipline yourself mentally. When you hear someone speak logically and motivate you the way he does, you'll amaze yourself how far you can push your limits. It's a wonderful experience, and I'm better because of it. Beautiful work.
One day I'll eventually move on to a real road bike, but in the meantime, this is the place I will frequent to make sure I reach my fitness goals. Definitely check this place if you want to get worked. -

I have an usual work schedule, which typical causes me to miss out on evening work out classes pretty much anywhere. However, I found my solutions to my problems at the Sweat Shoppe. This place seems like one of the only places around with morning classes and its awesome! It's the best way to get my work out in without worrying about being to tired to work out after work and get my body energized for the day. I love Chelsea, one of the AM teachers! She's so perky and supportive. You gotta try her class. It's one of the best kept secrets in NoHo still so the class it small which is awesome because then I don't have to feel intimidated about the more hard-hitter spinners making me feel self conscious and you get more one-on-one attention. GO!

It's true, 5 stars on all their reviews.
6:30am Spin with Chelsea on Tuesday and Thursdays is awesome. It's hard to get up when the alarm goes off at 5:45am, but it's worth it! There is no issue parking, the lot is completely empty (cause its 6am). Both women I have encountered working the front desk are incredibly nice and helpful. Chelsea is a great teacher and keeps you focused on the positive. She never makes you feel bad when you need to take it slower or easier than the rest of the class, but always encourages you to push past blocks in your mind. I always leave feeling stronger and with the knowledge that I can take on the world. (Which trust me, is helpful at 6am) Chelsea also has great music and the class structure is never identical which keeps you on your toes. I enjoy that she also does some arm work and always ends with some good stretches.
I started spin 3 weeks ago (this morning was my 5th class) and ever since I started I have been loosing 2lbs a week. Very excited! Buying a "spin cycle" of multiple classes at a time is the best way to go. You still have to rent shoes ($3) each time but considering I've started drinking less coffee since I've been going to class I suppose that's about the price of a latte.
I strongly encourage you to try the morning class. There's only a few of us, and we're all real nice, so you know there will be room for you and you'll have a great time. -

A friend of mine, who is a MACHINE at this studio, told me about this place and I've been spinning here ever since. Thanks, Cheryl! :)
Every one of the instructors that I've ridden with here are brilliant but there's a few of them that makes me extra keen on coming to the Sweat Shoppe.
Melissa manages to keep a great physique even after kids! That's enough to keep me going. Her class incorporates arms, jumps, and isolations. Expect to write off walking properly for a few days. No joke.
Then there's Sandra. I get excited to hear what's on her playlist. Because of her, I've discovered artists like Zola Jesus, Massive Attack, and Fun. Her music makes me think I can ride for days!
And Jason! He's a great motivator. Before Jason, I was the girl that came in tennis shoes trying to get the cages on the bike. He got me to try spin shoes. I went and got myself some Shimanos and came back like a spin monster the next week.
Mimi even helped me out with getting the right shoe.
I could go on! They're awesome here. I may be that girl that strolls in only once a week but I LOVE it each time. I'd give them 10 stars if possible. -

I LOVE THE SWEAT SHOPPE.
Second to a photo of britney's abs circa 2001, spinning in a sweaty room with four gay dudes and disco lights while listening janet jackson has to be as motivating as it gets.
the instructors and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. they have a great selection of music that's accompanied by disco lights and black lights! the people who work out here are also encouraging and nice -- there is definitely a sense of community here and LOTS of positive energy. it's clean. you'll feel the burn after just one workout. AND there's free parking.
what more can you ask for? -

The Sweat Shoppe is an incredible experience. The lights, music and even candles, yes I said candles, soy candles!! transport you to a place where you dont even feel like you're working out. The party atmosphere makes you feel like you're at a club, while at the same time working those muscles.
I've been spinning with Gayle for a while now and she is fantastic! She encourages you to go at your own pace, but as you get to be a more experienced spinner, she motivates you to go that extra mile. She helps you work on your endurance with those sprints and your strength with those hills. Thanks Gayle and The Sweat Shoppe I will definitely be coming back again and again and again. -

I love the Sweat Shoppe! I followed the owner Jason from another spin studio because I loved his workouts so much! If you don't get a good workout here it's your own damn fault. All the instructors are fantastic and want to make sure you work your ass off and have fun doing it. Whether you're new to spin or a vet, you'll love it here. And if you are new, the instructors will spend extra time helping you out to make sure you are set up properly and your form is good.
Did I mention the instructors are HOT? -

Total Blast... I've been searching for a great spin place that is clean, has a dark room and killer music. I FOUND IT!! Gayle was an amazing instructor! She was exciting, inspired us to push harder all while the pulsing music took your mind off the workout! The great club lights, amazing instructor and kind staff will have me coming back for more!
O yea, can you say FREE parking in the garage?? Sweeeet! -

Being an (almost) avid Yelper I wanted to wait a few months before reviewing this new spin studio just to be sure of what this studio was about. I've been spinning for 6 years and also road bike. Of all the LA spin studios I've spent thousands of dollars on over the years, The Sweat Shoppe is worth my pretty penny. Not just because of the new bikes, new lighting, new stereo system, great instructors... but because of the welcoming and friendly staff who's willing to make your experience as comfortable and less intimidating as possible. For any fitness studio these things are important especially if you're a noob on the bike or a noob to the studio. I've been to MANY studios around the Valley and you'll QUICKLY learn at how cliquish riders are (sit on someone's "regular" bike and they're likely to cut you all gangsta like), how rude owners can be (when you swear you cancelled a class on time but THEIR system was down), and how the good bikes are always somehow reserved for "elite" riders especially when you're the 2nd person to arrive to class. This studio has none of that and I commend Mimi and Jason, the owners, for keeping their studio as snob-free and less intimidating than all the LA studios I've been a member of.
The Sweat Shoppe is my new home for spin and I hope it stays that way for the next few years. Take one class here and you'll know what I mean. -

I have been to quite a few different spin studios around LA and I really dig The Sweat Shoppe!! The place has this really cool industrial vibe... The bikes are new.. I love the dark atmosphere with the fun laser lights and the sound system is great!
I loooove Jeff's classes. U are definitely going to get your booty kicked and into shape. He keeps the class motivated and upbeat and also makes sure your form is correct the whole time( which is super important). Plus... The dude has the best music! Go check it out! -

I have been spinning and working out for years and have never had a class even come close to the classes at the Sweat Shoppe! I consider myself to be in good shape and I'm currently halfway through p90x. This last week I substituted one of my cardio workouts for one of Jason's spin classes...BEST WORKOUT EVER! Jason is a fantastic instructor. He says all the right things at the right time; from little things like reminding you to keep your knees in to bigger things like reminding you to take your training to the next level. The studio is gorgeous and inviting. Mimi and Jason have really set up something fantastic! I highly recommend checking out The Sweat Shoppe, you will leave dripping in sweat with a smile on your face!!!

The instructor Gayle plays rhythm based music from dub step to techno to remixes that get me out of my head and into my workout. Never once do I realize that an hour has gone by because I have had so much fun!
I get the feeling that Gayle is very motivational and passionate about spinning. I really resonate with her spinning style. It seems to me that at the root of her style, she bases everything on moving to the rhythms of the music.
Being in sync with the rhythm is important to me because I tap into the music to drive me farther than I would without it.
Bottom line, imo Gayle is a fantastic spin instructor! -

I must say, what keeps me coming back to this super cool spin studio is spin instructor Mimi Ziffren Adams. She is a rock hard, solid spin instructor! The music she plays is a variety pack of old and new, which keeps the class upbeat and fun. She also takes song requests! If you want her to play something during class, just ask her and she'll work it into her playlist for your next spin. She is also a hands on instructor. She will get off of her bike during class and adjust your bike or body to make sure you are getting the maximum spin experience. The studio is brand new, spotlessly clean, easy parking, simply put ~ super fun! Come spin with Mimi, you won't be sorry, only sweaty.

The Sweat Shoppe is the best new spin studio in LA. Great instructors, cool disco lights, amazing sound, brand new bikes, free parking, the owners Mimi and Jason are so nice and welcoming. my favorite instructors are Jason, Sandra and Mimi. but i'm sure the rest of the spin instructors there are great too. prices are very reasonable. they do very good package deals, and they sometimes have free classes when a new instructors are added to the sheduul. Great workout!!

I do not like to spin. Truthfully, I usually find the music to be boring (how many times can one hear Ray of Light remixed?), the instructors to be difficult to understand over aforementioned blaring remix, and the movements to be uninspired (pushups over the bar again?). Yes I'm completely generalizing here. THAT SAID a friend of a friend told me about The Sweat Shoppe and I was coerced into trying. You already know where I'm going here having seen the shiny 5 star review above. I really can't say enough good things: the space is clean and modern with clean lines and amazing branding; the reception friendly and easy to maneuver through; and lastly but not leastly....I took Jason's Sunday class and not only did he come over and introduce himself (I'm a sucker for good customer service), he was FANTASTIC. The class was packed and and yet he was still audible over his well thought out playlist*, he kept the class interesting all throughout, and he was funny and inspiring in the process. He talked TO the class and not AT them like many fitness instructors tend to do.
I happily bought a package of classes on my way out. So I guess I like spinning now. (But only at The Sweat Shoppe).
*Ending a class with Freebird and cueing the class as the song ebbs and flows in tempo...Pretty awesome. -

The Valley needs more studio's like this! When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by a nice staff. I met one of the owners this morning and he could not have been nicer. Great start! Next, onto the space: It's immaculate and the lighting in the room is fantastic. The bikes are new and very smooth. The most important thing of all: The instructors. I followed Christian Castenada and Sandra Harrison here. I've been spinning with both of them for 6 years. They are both amazing and offer their unique styles and most importantly their absolute LOVE of spinning in all of their classes. I haven't tried the other instructors at Sweat Shoppe (yet), but I know that if they hired these two, they believe quality. All in all, a great addition to Noho and the spin community.

I've been spinning for over a decade so I'm particular about the studios and instructors, music, etc. This place rocks!
Great sound system, cool decór and lights, créme de la créme instructors, very kind and committed owners...
Whether you are a indoor cycling veteran or a novice and interested in trying it out- this will be a wonderful place for you. The bikes are brand new, the space is brand new, the energy is fresh and friendly. You will sweat you face off, burn calories like it is your job, and leave feeling amazing. Just yesterday I went in to Sandra's class feeling tired, grumpy and stressed and came out 55 minutes later feeling like a rock star.. It even inspired some new creative ideas in my work. Now THAT is a great workout. My circulation was pumping (pink cheeks for hours afterward- forget an expensive facial, this does the trick!) and my mood was awesome. :)
I highly recommend you check out this spot.
Also- I live in Silverlake, so not close to NoHo, but it only takes me 13 minutes to drive there. Super convenient to both the 101 and the 170. Free parking. See you on the bike! -

The studio is brand new, clean w/ the latest bikes, lighting, etc. The staff are awesome and the energy in the studio is very calm and relaxing. A MUST...check out Jason Squire's class! I also have tried Sandra's class and loved it just as much. I'm excited for this studio!

I'm addicted! After taking a LONG break from spinning (my favorite workout), I found The Sweat Shoppe around the corner from me and love it! I've had a variety of teachers and all are fantastic and I love that the studio is clean and modern. And Bikram-inspired spinning is incredible! Not as scary as it initially sounded, either.

Fresh new bikes and amazing spinning instructors? YES PLEASE! I love the Sweat Shoppe!! I bought a package here when they opened a month back and i don't regret it one bit. This brand new studio is tucked in the heart of the NoHo Arts district and has some kick ass instructors that will make you sweat and get in shape! Jason & Miriam (owners) are quite the power couple. They are friendly and will make sure you are happy with your experience at their studio. They are both spin instructors as well. The staff is great too. They have spin shoes for rental if you want to try them out. Convenient parking. there is a free lot behind the restaurant next door that you can park at. I've taken Jason, Sandra, and Jeff. They were all fantastic teachers. Great attitudes, great music, great studio! There's also an array of cute sweats for sale! I'm definitely a Sweat Gangsta! Thank you Jason & Mimi for the Sweat Shoppe!

I'm new to spinning and was really hesitant that I wasn't going to like it since I'm not a huge fan of treadmills or other stationary forms of exercise, but the friendly receptionist and later the awesome instructor Chelsea put me at ease and the class was a lot of fun. You work up an incredible sweat to the beat of fun pump-up music mixed with moving colored lights. The teacher Chelsea wasn't a drill sergeant but still kept the class motivated to keep pushing yourself through higher resistance and longer endurance intervals. She even takes song requests! She teaches early in the morning (6:30am) which can be a bear sometimes getting out of bed, but it is definitely worth it in the end. It's a great start to the day and sitting in traffic on the way to work afterwards seems more bearable knowing that I've gotten my metabolism off with a jump start that morning and I've already done more for my body and health that day than most of the angry drivers around me will. Excellent class. Excellent facility and equipment. Excellent instructor. I'm converted.
