Likely a spot you'd miss, I was drawn to the Studio House by the monsters in the window. Local and indie artists making everything from guys and girls tshirts to "preloved" material hats, paintings, sculptures and even some crazy masks hand crafted by Local artist Wayne Adams.
The guys and childrens shirts are really the star of the show with cool designs like "the milky way" and a spoof on the wolf and moon look.
If you want to escape the touristy vision of Tofino (sand dollars, dream catchers and whale paraphernalia) I'd spend some coin here.Listed in: Vancouver Island Travels

The Studio House specializes in providing beautiful and unique gifts of art, original paintings, upcycled clothing, hats, ceramic arts, jewelry and wood crafts. The shop is owned and operated by two hard working women who create many of the beautiful products you'll find in the shop.
If you're looking for something truly original, this is where you'll find it.
History
Established in 2009
Lisa Jewell and Julie Robinson met while setting up an art show together. Both began talking of their dream of having a gallery/boutique so that they could sell their own creations and continue to do what they love.
After much hard work and help from friends and family they opened their doors in June 2009, working from their studio/gallery where you could see the processes of the art being made.
After one year they decided to move the shop to a new, more central location. Both women now work form home but can be found some days operating the shop and greeting customers.
Meet the Business Owner: Lisa J Julie R.
Lisa is a Tofino BC resident of 5 years. Originally selling her one-off designs at the Tofino Public Market, she has expanded on her original designs and developed an appreciation of uniquely detailed garments and textile arts through the use of upcycled materials. Beautiful and often quirky, each piece is an expression of individual style.
Julie's love of painting has taken her on a grand journey of colour, characters and beautiful landscapes as she has developed her own unique style of expression. Her newest development is her creature series of original paintings, prints, cards and t-shirts. She is also working on a childrens book which will feature her signature 'Project Monster'
