Good breakfast - had eggs, toast, and ham. Fairly cheap for how much food they give you.

Review from Bob M.
We came up for our short Vancouver vacation with carefully chosen Yelp recommendations to try, all carefully noted and then promptly forgotten. Therefore we just bounced around with forks in hand and stopped at what looked and smelled good, the X Spot cafe being the first.
I am surprised that this hasn't been reviewed earlier, though yelp has got it pretty well hid unless you really search for it. Hopefully with a fresh review and some pictures it may get a little more exposure. But that's not really what I am about here, I am here to talk about the very nice couple of breakfasts that we had here.
They pull good espresso here and we had very good drip coffee also, all from beans from http://www.saltspringc... . I have not heard of this roaster, but they do seem to make a quality product. This alone would be reason to have a cup here rather than Satan's Spawn across Robson St.
The breakfasts were lovely to look at and lovely to eat, the Benedict being my favorite. No ham, though fresh spinach, an interesting way to serve it, that, topped with poached eggs that were cooked just so and covered with what tasted like a fresh hollandaise. The seasonings that you see on top were not just for show but rather added a nice counterpoint to the silky sauce. The potatoes photograph nicer than they tasted, though they were not bad.
The second day we had the omelet. This was more of a folded frittata and cooked well done which was a bit disappointing considering how well the poached eggs were handled the day before, though it was surprisingly tasty. We never made it to a lunch at this place as our visit was brief to your lovely city. We saw great looking salads and pannini that I think would have definitely would have been worth a try as well as soups that sounded very good, too.
They seem to be busy, so I suppose they don't really need a review from the likes of us, but if you have not tried this little cafe and you are in the neighborhood, I would think you would enjoy yourself very much.Listed in: Vancouver BC for goobers

This is a little corner cafe serving basic breakfast items, soup, sandwiches and wraps. It's not wonderful and it isn't bad.
Came here for breakfast and fuel up before biking Stanley Park. The ham & cheese omelet was fine- eggs, ham and cheese. Nothing special. The belgian waffle was meh. The waffle was missing most of its grooves. Whipped cream topping came out of an aerosol can.
All of their juice drinks come from Minute Maid. This was a bit disappointing because I was hoping to have some fresh squeezed OJ to go with my breakfast.
Service was quick and friendly. -

This place has soups, sandwiches, and other small meal sort of foods from organic foods I think. The food is okay..nothing special. They have a few vegetarian choices. Their sandwiches aren't THAT filling. It's like your regular home made sandwich really. The service was a little slow when I went, they were training a new employee. A regular sandwich cost me over 6 dollars though, not really worth it. Didn't have to wait too long.
It's pretty spacious in there, so no rush or worrying about seating. Nice that they have outdoor seats and window seats too. They used to have a bit of competition from Bojangles across the street, but it has been replaced by yet another Starbucks.
Don't really recommend it that much. If you want good food, just walk further down Denman, there are tons. -

Bruch at this place is reasonable. The sandwhiches aren't exactly gourmet and the breakfast plates could've been better but the service is quick, the atmosphere is casual and it's in a convenient location. What else can I say? Oh, I think they are hiring?

I came here for lunch with a few people. Perhaps their breakfasts are better than their lunches, because we were not very impressed. The sandwiches were small (the hoagie sandwich was especially tiny) and nothing special. The girl who brought the sandwiches to our table didn't know which one was which, and the sandwiches were slowly brought out one at a time, so one person ate another person's sandwich and only realized the mistake after the last sandwich was brought to our table. No big deal, but this cafe is not someplace we'd go to again.
