This shop is sooooo cute!
Normally I avoid little knickknack shops like the plague. They all seem to carry the exact same tacky ornaments and "I didn't know what else to get you" gifts. The only reason I even stopped into the Social Page was because I had some time to kill before I was due to meet up with a friend.
I love how the store is basically divided into three sections: greeting cards, scrapbooking/card-making, and gifts/trinkets. Though I don't scrapbook myself, looking at what this shop had to offer makes me wish I did. They have a great variety of materials that are a bit pricey. However, they're also obviously of very high quality (AKA you get what you pay for!)
I was also impressed with the gift section. While I had already finished the bulk of my 2011 Christmas shopping, I was ended up picking-up a couple extra things. They have some really unique jewelry pieces and gorgeous scarves. There were a couple hand-painted pieces that tempted me but alas were out of my price range. Gotta save up for my next visit! -

I love that I have a delightful little stationary store so close by, I don't always love the prices I pay, but I can't argue with the quality of the product I find!
One year for Christmas, I made photo frames out of the most gorgeous navy paper I bought here. It was uber sturdy and velvety soft... I had to continuously wash my hands so I wouldn't get oily finger prints all over it (they showed!). That's some of the kind of product you'll find here.
If you're not into making your own photo frames out of heavy cardstock and reflective pieces of paper, they've got plenty of other cute little gifts for you to choose from. Although, if you're looking for traditional ribbon (like to wrap your Christmas or birthday presents with), that's one item they don't seem to carry! -

I used to work here. Of course it wasn't the Social Page back then it was Elevation Adventure Outfitters, which sadly doesn't exist anymore. I couldn't wait to see what would go into this space because it is such a wonderful space. Lots of light through the big windows, two levels, new flooring. A great spot for an retailer who had enough product to fill the space.
I was really excited to see this cute shop go up here. They have so many cute knick-nacks and the likes. They also have really nice papers if you are into scrapbooking or cardmaking. OR if you don' want to make your OWN cards they do wedding invitations and they look really cute. Lots of different styles to choose from and very adorable designs.
A great place to check out after grabbing a coffee at Bumpy's right next door! -

This is a very easy to spot store kitty corner from the MEC, because it simply is like looking into the Nutcrackers Ballet.
This location has recently opened as of November but they have been serving the Mission area for over 10 years. I was entering during closing time and the door was even locked but the owner/attendant came to the door and welcomed me in. She was extremely nice and said to take my time to browse the store.
If you love stationary or want to buy that extra special knicky knacky for your loved one. Come here. This is wall to wall sugar and spice selections on journals, greeting cards, and right now very exquisite Christmas items.
It is so bright and colourful and the prices are so reasonable, I can assure you that you will walk out with a very unique gift for someone, even for yourself and if not, your inner child will be revived and so delighted because there are so many beautiful things to see. -

Okay, so I was walking down to Bumpy's and passed by the Social Page, and it must have emitted a siren's call to my female brain because next thing I knew I was drooling over cardstock and small gifts. My brain had just like, shut off.
So anyways, yes, they have a ton of gifts and more importantly, some of calgary's best stationery. There is stuff for scrapbooking, for making your own cards, for getting them specialized in store... There is beautiful paper, and the store really does look a little magical. There was some bridal stuff but coming in just before xmas meant there was no ignoring the Christmas themes. That was cool though: it was tasteful and beautiful rather than uberkitsch. -

Last night I went for a walk and I just happened to stumble into The Social Page downtown Calgary. I had NEVER seen this store before, so of course, I went in.
Turns out this location of the store just opened up on Nov. 1st, 2009. Their other location in S.W. Calgary has been around since 1992.
Can I just say: I LOVED this store!!!
There was SO much to see!!! Everything from tea kettles, to stationary, and they actually specialize in bridal products. Considering I'm not getting married, but was still fascinated by this store, that says a lot!
I just love all the different STUFF this store has. The store has a super cool layout as well and the service was AWESOME!
I didn't end up buying anything (because as you all know, I'm trying hard to purge my life of 'stuff'), but nonetheless, I did make a mental note to head back to this store the next time someone's birthday is around the corner.
Great store, fascinating stuff, exceptional service.
