All-in-all I had a good experience here.  My food was good and they had a decent drink selection.

My wife and I went here on a Saturday night before we went to a friends place. It was busy but we were seated straight away which was nice. There was a lot of people there but we were able to have a conversion which was very nice.

The food wasn't anything spectacular but it was good. The beer list was definitely a step above the rest.

This seems like a great place of you want to go out with a small group of friends and have a few drinks. It's not so loud you can't have a conversation and the drinks and food are good.

Ok I know it is long overdue that I've written about Social House because I've been there 5 times already ever since they relocated from Uptown to Addison.  When I first came here when they recently moved to the Addison location, it gave me a different feel than when it was in Uptown.

It feels like an upscale version of Blackfinn and Sherlocks, but on the weekend it is more subdued because it is not as crowded.

Great for happy hours, great as a regular hangout place, I like it how it's not as smokey as a lot of places are in Addison.  It's one of those places that if you want to get out of the house on a Friday or Saturday night but don't want to deal with the crowd, Social House gives you that.

I'm looking into turning this as a regular hangout spot.  Other than that, keep it up.

Came here on a Friday to meet a friend for dinner and drinks.  I was running late so she grabbed a table and ordered me a peach mojito.  Walking in I immediately noticed a nice difference from the previous location.  The large patio out front was packed with much less pretentious and douchey dwellers of the metroplex.  The host showed me where she was sitting and I took a sip of the mojito.  It was yummy and not too sweet.  After about 5 min a waiter comes and lets us know we will need to move because the table we are sitting at will be pulled together for a large party.  He apologized and said we could have an appetizer on the house.  While annoying, we understood and moved.  The dining area near the bar was incredibly packed and our table was in a tight spot.

For our appetizer, we ordered the bruschetta which was really good.  About four pieces of toasted bread brushed with olive oil and topped with melted mozzarella and roma tomatoes came out and we dug in.  I ordered the fish and chips subbing chips for a side salad.  The salad came out first and was ok.  The fish came and was not that great.  The fish wasn't crispy, the breading was kind of spongey and was coming apart from the fish.  The little container of cole slaw was delish though.  Friend liked her entree of shrimp tacos and we ordered a slice of red velet cake to share.  A large birthday cake lookin' slice came out and my eyes got big.  We so should not have been eating that but it was really good.  The food and drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was pleasing.  While my entree wasn't the best I would definitely come back to try something else.

I'm shocked by the descriptions of this place as pretty and comfortable.  I guess if you miss that kinda of tacky bar you hung out in while in college, then maybe it qualifies, but I don't miss those places that much.  A limited selection of wines that the wait staff know little about and, as usual in Dallas, they can't make a Negroni.  Saving grace is the pesto pizza.  Truly delicious.  The pizza isn't enough to make me come back though.  I would appreciate a little more atmosphere and bartender know-how.  And in Texas that West-facing patio is going to be really miserable for a happy hour.

By happy accident, I discovered that the Social House has brunch, and I must say that as someone who has high expectations for brunch, I was really happy.  Delicious $2.00 spicy bloody marys, to die for bananas fosters french toast, and a hollandaise sauce that was perfect for their steak benedict.  I had a hard time deciding what to get, especially since I was tempted by their regular menu as well, so I will obviously need to make a return trip another weekend.

Until about noon today when I received an email welcoming me to their "Customer VIP Email Club," I was going to give Social House a great four or five star review (gasp!) based on my experience last night. You see, I gave my business card to a manager solely on BUSINESS intentions, as in "Hey, here's what I do," NOT "Hey, here's my permission to put me on your mailing list." It really irks me when establishments do this -- sneaky marketing, my friend, but I'm not falling for it.

However, my experience last night at happy hour was really pleasant and fun. I had heard mediocre things about Social House, but I decided to see for myself and I'm glad I did.

The drinks were cheap and well-poured (ask for a "VIP" keychain card that gets you $3 Crown&Down drinks all night), and our server was fantastic. We sipped $3 Tito and sodas for several hours while Ian snapped pictures of our table when requested and joked along with us.

We didn't try the food, but the menu looked decent. The place is mostly a dude den, but the few girls there were attractive. Expect to see a lot of older men hitting on the waitstaff as they slam their "expensive" whiskey. (Gross.)

I'll probably be back, but I'll be careful to keep my cards in my pocket. I'd rather not be re-added to their special list.

I came here after a long work week. I ordered the fish and chips which were over battered and not memorable. My friend's buffalo chicken was a lot better..
So, you should definitely dress trendy at this place. I felt a little out of place wearing my school shirt and nail salon pedi flip flops ;)
    Bottom line:

    Social scene
    Noisy (better for hh)
    Ok food
    Ok service

Would I go back again? Probably not.

I organized an event here a few Fridays ago for my http://MeetUp.com group, and I was a little worried (at first) because I had 120+ people on my RSVP list. I had been here before and knew the place got fairly crowded on Fridays.

I was thrilled with how the event turned out! It went SO smoothly and everyone had a great time. We had the "fireplace room" to ourselves, our own bar and server, and it was just perfect. Really amazing service, and the management was attentive and professional.

They took very good care of my group, and I will definitely be holding another event here! ;)

I found this place by accident. I had to pick up a very drunk friend from here...and I walked in...found the bar to be very clean and lively. Its not smokey like Shercocks....ahem...I mean Sherlocks. I had to take her home....and took a mental note to come back.

So I came back with my friend after a hard night at work. I was there to drink my dinner...so I didnt try their food. They have a lot of beer on tap....anything imaginable. I enjoyed the vibe of the place. I didnt get the Dallas Douche vibe I normally would get at most places. It was a relaxed and fun vibe. Plenty of plasma screens to watch the game on...and great music to dance to. Great patio...and a very nice busboy named Juan Carlos that would do anything for you.

I will be back for the food as well as the beer :D

First time at the Social House. Looks like a nice place but we were only here for an international gathering which of course meant mostly everyone ordered drinks. Not so sure about the foodbecause I never ordered anything but it certainly looked good.  The place was plenty packed. Seems a great place to go after work to meet up with friends and colleagues for drinks and chat. Nice ambiance with inside or outside dining.
Not so sure if it's the best place for very large group meet-ups as you are placed in a very narrow tight section of the restaurant which means you are all getting in each other's way and the way of the staff who are serving meals. In the end like I said before it's great for a few people to gather for a meal and a drink.

As Addison places go, Social House is pretty good - this yet another time I wish for the half star, so I could do 3.5 stars.  I appreciate the attempt at a supper pub done old-world style in Addison.  I appreciate the lack of smoke - though really, smoke doesn't bother me from a second-hand perspective, my work clothes not smelling super-smokey is a plus if coming for HH.  I just don't appreciate the attitude of some staff members and that whole nacho situation with the potato chips on the bottom.  Seriously, I keep moving between 3 and 4 stars...need a .5 star!!

Anyway, the HH drink specials are pretty great and the food is exactly what I expected and relatively cheap during HH if you pick the correct app, minus the whole nacho situation - those are just not good.  The homemade potato chips with onion dip are delicious, so just skip that nacho situation and have potato chips - arguably less caloric bar food that achieves the same purpose.  The pizza my friends had recently looked tasty - I think it was the prosciutto and pesto pizza.  The calamari fries are only ok if you are down with steak calamari (not really my thing), but they do warn you on the menu unlike other places, so at least you shouldn't be surprised... The cheese fries and mussels are pretty tasty too.

The lack of smoke does make this place pretty cool, but the inside seating options do leave something to be desired and, unfortunately, sitting on the porch sometimes isn't an option.  The big booths in the bar would be a lot more comfortable with slightly longer tables so that these booths could be used for groups of 4-5 comfortably.  The outside seating is great!

Unfortunately, and the reason I keep trying to decide whether to give it a 3 or 4 star review, the staff is sometimes a little, well, rude or ridiculous!  I've been here with a friend when a male bartender routinely did not even make an attempt to take and fill drink orders in a first-come, first-serve manner.  Uncool :(  Also, some staff members don't seem to know when HH ends, but then do not wish to fix their error. If I come in and ask what the drink specials are and how long HH runs til, and you as a staff member incorrectly informs me, it is now on you to correct this mistake - I don't care if before you give me the drink that was just poured you tell me that HH actually ended at 6:30 and ask me if I still want it, or if you would prefer to just change the bill, but don't give me the wrong information and go, OOPS!

Some staff members are cool though, so that helps, and on Mardi Gras our server got our drinks and food out very timely and was very attentive.  It's just hit or miss with the service, unfortunately.

Decent food, above average beer selection, and overall a welcome alternative to the other establishments found in Addison.  Their happy hour in particular is pretty killer.  I haven't tried a whole lot on the menu, just the irish pork nachos and the sliders.  Both were good, but nothing to get excited about.  I have to agree that I'd like the "nachos" more if they were on a tortilla chip instead of potato chips though.

The service when I've gone has been a little spotty - sometimes it's been because it's busy, other times because it's almost empty with what appeared to be one server working the entire establishment.

I like that I have somewhere in Addison now where I can meet up with coworkers who aren't huge beer fans (sorry Flying Saucer) or when I want something a little more polished without the heavy douche factor or overwhelming smoke.

Living in Addison myself and seeing sign holders on the intersection of DNT@BELTLINE for this place, I have always been intrigue.  I finally had a chance to visit this place for a friends birthday.

The inside is modern, dim lit, cozy and has fireplaces.  I love the decor, and they even decorated for Xmas!  They can accommodate large groups as the did for us.  The crowd was great.  Good mix of young professionals and the like.  Singles, couples and groups.

The food all around was great.  Everything came out piping hot and full of flavor.  I had the Calamari which I suggest you order especially if you like hot wings.  Even though we had about 20 in our party, we all were taking care of.  No snags of any kind and I really wanted to tell management of what a great job the staff was doing.  Food came out in timely fashion, drinks were full, checks separated and they even brought out two huge pieces of dessert (cheesecake/chocolate cake) with enough for everyone to have a bite.

The music got louder as the night set in and everyone was feeling good.  They played alot of things we wanted to dance to.  There was a room inside that was tucked away with posh couches we all hung out in and caught up with each other in.

I will love to come to this place again.  It wasn't too crowded, food was good, drinks were good but not overpriced.  Def worth going to.  Check them out.

This is a great place in Addison that is tucked away. I went for drink and appetizers and was impressed with the service and the food. I really enjoyed the pizza's. They were very yummy and a great value when you factor in the happy hour deals.

Thanks to the Dallas Margarita Society, I attended a Happy Hour here - and glad I did.

This is a fun, cool, reasonably priced place.   The staff has always been very  nice, and the atmosphere is one that suits everyone.

My only dislike - their Nacho's.... HATE THEM.    Those aren't nachos, they are potato chips.... from a bag.   And shouldnt be used to make nachos!  OR don't call them nachos, call them Loaded potato chips!!!   (i'm very passionate about my nachos... and this place ruined them!)

Other than that - cool place!  ;)

Great atmosphere fin the space...one of my favorites with the separate areas.  Decent  happy hour until 7 (although the hrs posted are until 6:30).  Wine list is so/so.  (definitely need some expertise added here).  Food is ok.  Calamari is processed (long squares) but tastes ok.  Fries are good.  Burgers are so greasy that the bottom bun was completely soggy.  Bananas foster is good.

Overall, great for bar / happy hour food.  If they would tighten up the food and focus on quality, it would be a fantastic place from happy hour to a date.  Right now, I'll go back for happy hour but spend my $ elsewhere for dinner.

Let's be honest here people SOCIAL HOUSE LOOKS PRETTY! That's all it has going for it!  It looks upscale and when you compare it to SHERLOCKS which is across the street from it...anything looks upscale! lol

Most of the time Social House is pretty empty, which is most of the week and partly on the weekends. When it does get a crowd..they all hangout on the patio (even in the cold) the seating inside should have been planned better. For some reason they decided to put alot of couches in the back..but this isn't a coffee house and people aren't having out in a VIP section sipping drinks!  lol

In the end SOCIAL HOUSE is trying to be to many things, if you're looking for the next BLACK FIN than keep looking!

This place sucks.  Our waiter was rude, he would get annoyed if we ask him to repeat which app items were actually on the HH menu.  The MFer shouldn't mumble then!  He didn't pay any attention to us throughout the night either.  He put an 18% tip on our bill, even though there was only six of us.  I'm tempted to call back and reclaim my tip...bc he was not worth it!  The food overall is bar food--mediocre!  The pork nachos were really good, just wish it was tortilla chips instead of potato chips.  The buffalo calamari would have been good if it wasn't too salty.  I ordered the chorizo burger, waiter recommended --should have know not to trust him.  It was WAY too salty!! Felt like I was eating a salt burger.  The burger came well done, dry, and just overall nasty.  Chorizo is already salty enough, y'all don't need to add any seasoning.

On top of everything, our waiter charged us for more drinks than we had!  But I was more tired then pissed to bring it up!  Anyway, probably won't be coming back.  If we do, just need to make sure we don't have the same idiot waiting on us!

We decided to have my 30th birthday celebration here this past Saturday because they had a back room that would accommodate all our guests.  This is a decision that I highly regret.  Let me tell you why.

The first time my husband and I went here, we met with the manager to get more information about renting the back room.  He told us that there was already a reservation made that night, but would give us the reservation because  we had so many more people with our party and he wanted more business.  He was very friendly, and even gave us a free appetizer to taste since it was our first time there.  We liked the service so much that we decided to have my party here. He wrote our reservation in the book.  We provided all our information and gave him our credit card information to hold the reservation.  My husband confirmed with the manager a few days before the party, and everything was all set.

We had a few friends that showed up before we got there, and there was another party in the back room. They called me up, and told me the hostess informed them that we didn't have the back room and that there were only THREE booths that were reserved for my party of 40+ people.  I was pretty shocked and angry to hear this.

When my husband and I arrived, we immediately sought out the manager.  He seemed confused by the situation, and it felt like he was attempting to put the blame on us, that we wanted the booths.  He attempted to shake my husband's hand while my husband was talking about the reservation mix up, but with my husband being so upset, he didn't notice the manager extending his hand.  When my husband didn't shake his hand, the manager started to get confrontational about the handshake and stated that it was disrespectful not to shake someone's hand back.  At this point the manager seemed more interested about obtaining his much due respect than addressing the issue at hand.  My husband then shook his hand, and thankfully the manager was now ready to resume the discussion now that he felt he had obtained his respect.  I WAS SHOCKED to witness this type of unprofessionalism and lack of customer service, especially from a manager level.  Not once did the manager even attempt to apologize.

The manager told my husband that if we bring him thirty people, he would kick out the other party and move us into the back room.  It was almost 11 (our reservation was at 9pm), and our group of friends were trying to squeeze into three booths.  It got to the point where our party ended up just separating throughout the place, trying to get comfortable. We did end up moving into the room at 11:30pm.

What was supposed to be a fun, memorable 30th birthday celebration with my friends, ended up being one of the worst experiences that I've encountered.  My friends and I won't be going back here.

    ****************************UPDATE 2/3/2012****************************

The manager and the owner have both reached out to my husband, and apologized for our experience here.  It says a lot to me about the way one operate's a business when the owner is trying hard to make things right.  They even extended an offer to come back with my friends and have dinner/drinks on them.  I really appreciate their actions in trying to make up for our time there; however, I don't think I can return to this establishment with the way we were treated.  I hope the staff learns from this experience, and I hope that no future guests will have to go through this.

Although one of my preferred places to go in Addison, I must give it 3 stars. I like The Social House because it is not a smokey environment like the nearby Sherlock's. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and I like to go catch up with friends.

However, NEVER get the nachos. It sounded good, but it was a HUGE disappointment. They basically pile all the listed ingredients on top of potato chips! They don't even put queso on it. I feel like in a drinking atmosphere, it is crucial to have delicious nachos!

In search of a nice atmosphere where you will not see any old people and possibly a younger crowd? Well, than look no more because I haven't seen any yet that has a need for special recognition!! Atmosphere is 5stars alone, drinks are decent prices and the crowd is very warming actually compared to the drunks you will encounter all around addison. This place also accommodates smokers and outdoor lovers with a boastful patio that carries an open bar for the liking. I give this a 5 star even to people who do not drink!!

A nice place to hang out with a group for HH.  If you're into sports, this is the place to be as the TV screen is HUGE.  If you like lychee then you will LOVE their lychee martini.  It has a nice flavor to it and taste just like a lychee.  Also, if you want a drink that reminds you of the Mexican Martinis from Trudy's in Austin then get the Mexitini here.  It was very good here and you don't have to drive to Austin to get it unless you just want too :-).  At first it took a little bit for someone to come ask what we wanted but then once our waiter came it was all good.  Good service here.  The manager is very friendly and is out on the floors walking around making sure everything is okay.  It wasn't crowded when we went but I am sure it gets crowded at nights.  Can't wait to come back here for the martinis!

The ever so elusive "CN" and I decided to check out "that social supper club" in Addison...

    Oh what a treat!

Its very classy inside, all dark and leathery.  The menu has tons to choose from, tacos, burgers, steak, short ribs, pizzas.. its almost overwhelming.

I chose the roasted chicken with applewood bacon mustard greens (which we later named apple bottom jeans greens).  It also came with fingerling potatoes and a buttery coating of heaven.  CN got the chicken fried steak. That came with gravy, green beans and mashed potatoes.

It was so good it made me angry.  I'm not sure how to describe it because I'm not a food writer, but both of us ate everything.  I had one little bit of potato left, but for the most part - clean plates.

Moist chicken, great portions, crispy fried steak, nothing was bad about this dinner - I would have liked to trade a scoop of more apple bottom greens for a few less potatoes, but that is it.

The prices were very reasonable as well.  Service was very friendly and informative.  The bar looked like it would be a happenin spot on the weekend too.

I will definitely be back to work my way down the menu.

The service was slow and why would you close a bar and only have one open on a Saturday night?! People were waiting 30 mins to an hour to get even one drink. Management is poor when they gave a party reservation away (I guess they don't want to make a profit). Disappointed because it had potential.

After circling the labyrinth that is the expansive Addision shopping center flanking Beltline, I finally found myself at the newly transplanted Social House. Much to my delight, it's a step-up from the former, cheesy-town-USA, West Village location. Based on the lively and packed crowd the menu must be noteworthy. But I have a feeling the happy hour is where the golden nugget of fun lies. Tonight, I was introduced to the most exciting drink to touch my taste buds -the Grand Chillada. A lovely medley of Grand Marinier, Corona, and limeade. The idea to bring beer into the mix offsets the sweetness of the limeade. Pure refreshing genius in a cup.

While I was having a lovely time with some hysterical company, a plate of chicken wings and nachos magically appeared! I don't know who takes credit for ordering these bomb-ass appetizers, but I owe them a hug. The chicken wings were unlike any other taste. They had a Caribbean Jerk flavor, but maybe mixed with some curry and brown sugar? Whatevs! All that matters it remains a wonderful mystery. Come to think of it, the nachos were yummy and innovative, too. Not your average fried tortilla chips topped with cheese and meat, but homemade fried potato chips instead! I could have eaten the chips alone and been happy.

The service was a tad spotty, however the place was unreasonably packed. My favorite part of the evening is when I told the waiter we need 'one check' and he brought a Woodchuck instead. Makes for a great story and a free cider! Thanks for putting a lovely UYE together, Cristy!

This is a cool restaurant to go with friends for a few drinks and watch a game if you're into sports.  I loved the ambience, and service is pretty decent.  If you are in the mood for a martini, I highly recommend the mexitini which is fantastic, and I also recommend the lychee martini.  The manager of the restaurant was really friendly, and I loved the service i received the evening I went.  I'll have to venture out here at night, I hear it gets packed, but this is a great place in Addison for happy hour!

Too long to read? Overall story: Food is good! Nice interior, looks great at night. Bathroom area should be lit.
    ---
I went yesterday for the last part of Happy Hour and stayed a fair amount afterwards so I feel that I have experienced what it's like at Social House on a Thursday.

First of all, it was so darn hard to find! I know I know, I'm terrible at directions anyway, but even my GPS was finding it difficult. Parking was plenty so I was just glad to have found it.
During Happy Hour, there were a lot of us attending a social gathering which immediately brought my attention towards how cramped the bar area is (when you enter, take a right and the one I'm talking about is on the left).
Like previous Yelpers, I felt that that area was not well planned for enough walking room. In addition to that stuffy bar area, with everyone standing, sitting, or squeezing/nudging through, the ceiling fans were on the lowest circulation possible.
Anyways, Happy Hour provides decent prices. $4 wines, $3 wells, 1/2 off select appetizers and pizza. I feel like it's kinda too pricey for me to come after 8:30pm. My Guiness was $5.75 for a pint (whuddya gonna do, boohoo).

Sitting at the bar is better than being waited on if busy. The interior decor is lovely, especially at night. If you have a dinner date, sit at the booths by area closest to the front patio. I feel as though the one designated bathroom area should be lit well enough so patrons aren't squinting their eyes looking like idiots, undermining their ability to decipher the dark "W" or "M" on the doors.

I was originally going to rate it a 2 because of the dirty water glass and sudsy wine I received. That's right, my wine had an odd taste that resembled dish cleaner. No need for alarm, SERIOUSLY, this is probably a one time thing.

I'm going to try this place again.

So far so good for the new kid on the block.  The first time we tried Social House was just for cocktails at just the right time.  They have excellent drink and appetizer specials.  The "Mad Man" drink is a great bourbon cocktail for summer.  The wife and I also shared the tomato mozzarella appetizer and was very pleased with the way the dish was constructed and tasted.

The 2nd time around a friend and I came for dinner.  We both split a chorizo burger and the buffalo burger.  The chorizo burger is just that, a big tasty slab of chorizo.  It's the chorizo's dressing that makes her so good.  If you are looking for what could become the new contender for best burger in Addison then do not miss the Buffalo burger with aged cheddar and a fried egg c'etait magnafique!  Enough about the food, just go try it yourself.

On to service.  In a town full of the same old feel and routine from bar to bar and restaurant to restaurant, the Social House generously pours on the great customer service once you walk through their doors.  I will just give you one instance in which their service was impeccable.  Cocktail napkins, yes, cocktail napkins.  With every re-fill of every drink a new napkin was placed with it.  If the napkin even looked like it was getting to wet a new napkin was coming, if a bar back or busboy even saw that your napkin was misplaced or a little wet, you guessed it new napkin.  I know that cocktail napkins may mean absolutely nothing to the majority of the people that read this review, but I am in the school of thought that if you can get even the smallest of details right then you are probably heading down the right path.

    With that, go be social.

Sure I'll come back!! Came here on the Saturday before Halloween so everyone was dressed up except us. Apparently I didn't get the memo. I was hit on by Marilyn Monroe and talked to a fella dressed as though he had a Furry fetish going.

We sat at the rear bar which hosts 50 beers on tap, got to try a few of my favorites. The back bar is generally a little more quiet as it's away from the crowds but it closes at 11pm on the weekends so you need to move to one of the other two bars.

The group shared the fried pickles and buffalo wings. My memory is a little foggy but I think the wings were really good. I can't be entirely confident because I was at that "hey let's do shots" stage of the night. I've only seen male bartenders and they all seem to be pretty cool but not in that douche-bag sort of way.

I'll be back at some point to try some more food and hopefully remember it.

Really 3.5 stars.  Even though I work in the area, it was a little hard to find.  It's in the Village on the Parkway down the road from Blue Mesa going towards Montfort.

Social House is pretty big but it's broken down into three rooms: one primarily for dinner, one with the cocktail bar and an area in the back with a beer bar with 50 beers on tap.  There's also a lounge area.  We decided on the beer bar.

Beer selection is pretty good although not the best selection in town.  However, any bar that has more than your typical offerings is awesome  (Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Chimay White, Maredsous 10, Boulevard Seasonal and Franziskaner are the ones I remember).  Happy hour is from 4:00-6:30 pm Monday through Friday and all drafts are $1.00 off.  There's also half off specialty cocktails, pizzas and select apps, $3 wells and $2.00 off wines by the glass.

As far as the food goes, it's better than your typical bar fare.  We had the prosciutto & pesto pizza (good), buffalo wings (good), loaded cheese fries (very tasty and surprisingly not heavy at all) and the house made potato chips with caramelized onion dip (awesome!).   The menu is quite large and has a number of interesting items.  In the future, I will have to try the bock beer mussels and the buffalo fried calamari fries.

Most importantly, this was a laid back, comfortable place to hang out.  I'm sure it becomes more of a scene late at night but earlier in the evening, there's a diverse crowd and everyone will feel welcome.  This is a wonderful addition to the Addison bar scene!

Ok. I give up. So, what's a Supper Pub? Is this some sorta new Dallas fad? Every time I get used to one, a new one pops up. I can't keep up with these things.

The previous location was more of a hangout watering hole than it was a restaurant. I'm guessing the new Addison location is the opposite.  I'm not sure, but I do miss the old days dancing in the basement at West Village. It was a good night spot. I was sad to see it go.

I like this place. I really do. I may be proven wrong sometime down the road, but I don't see the new location lasting as long as the West Village one. Having to go up against $2.00 you call its at Sherlocks and live music every night there and at Memphis won't be easy....

Anyway. If you should find your way to The Social House one evening with a hunger you need to tame, you  need to try out the shrimp pizza. You'll be a very, very, very, very, very, very, very , very, very, very happy person for doing so.

    Very.

Although I never got to dine at the previous Social House in West Village, I was really eager to try this one.  What is a Supper Pub, you ask?  Don't worry, we asked.  Much like a gastropub is a bar with food as an afterthought, a supper pub is a restaurant with a bar as the afterthought.  They still want you to enjoy their cocktails, but they feature dinner.  At least that's how it was explained to us.

We visited on a Thursday night and ordered wine paired with the tomato bruschetta with arugula pesto.  Delicious.  Four pieces of a French baguette topped with chopped grape tomatoes, pesto and mozzarella (served warm).  For dinner we each ordered the turkey burger, chorizo burger and shrimp tacos.  Although one of my friends was pescatarian, the waiter was very helpful in helping her determine some options (as pescatarian and vegetarian options were limited).

I had the turkey burger, and to be honest, I wasn't impressed.  The patty lacked flavor and didn't taste like turkey!  It was paired with french fries, but I wish they offered sweet potatoes as well.  That would definitely kick things up a notch!  Sadly, I've had better turkey burgers elsewhere.  Both my friends enjoyed their selections.  Next time, I'll try something different.

The atmosphere is reason enough to visit, as it out does all other bars in the area.  Perfect amount of lighting, and very attentive wait staff.  I'd love to come back and see how they do late night.

Social House created an atmosphere that makes you want to go back.   I was a fan of the old Social House in West Village, but it's like Social House grew with me.  I'm older and it adapted.  I went on Saturday and sat in a lounge area.  We had our own server, Charles; he was awesome and very attentive.  My wine was amazing and I can't wait to go back for happy hour and food (very delicious looking menu).

I hope this place lasts, because while Sherlocks has a live band it also has hoards of people, rude bartenders, and smoking.

**Update** I tried the food and everything I had was so good!  I went with the Shrimp Florentine Pizza due to suggestions from multiple people and it was delish!  As were the homemade chips with onion dip and chocolate cake.  Once again I had an amazing server and the manager came over and introduced himself which is always nice!

I was not expecting much of this place since the one that closed in uptown was a douche bag hang out.  This location is so much different.  It was very nice inside and it was a very diverse crowd.  The people that worked there were friendly and we enjoyed the food.  I wouldn't say it was the best food ever, but it was definitely good.  I had the chicken fried steak and it was tender and yummy!  I LOVED their fries....homemade handcut fries...my favorite!  This bar has like a hundred beer choices, so my husband was happy.   If I was up in Addison again, I would go here again.

i love the thought and the creativity in the menu. i plan to go back.

i got the pub which is a BLT on sourdough with an egg. seriously how great is that. i never get blt sandwiches either because i feel the thinness of bacon doesnt feel like real meat even though it clearly is.

    the fries are home made.

we also got the peel shrimp which was terrific. the pork nachos were excellent too. i definitely plan to go back. its a little tricky to find but its on a corner which is all.

i like how they also have a couches in the back which you can just lounge on before or after your meal.

i definitely plan to go back.

    JEANS: OK by far
    ORDER: by wait staff

I love the idea of having of having a nice fancy place to eat and a huge beer selection! I only had the Barbacoa pizza, the buffalo fried calamari fries(which is very unique and totally a different way to eat calamari), the irish pork nachos(there is nothing "irish" about the nachos, they need a new name change of this dish), and the "sink" burger and both of them were delicious, especially the pizza which was half off since it was happy hour. Their happy hour is amazing and probably the best happy hour in my opinion in Dallas, I mean half off pizza, half off their "speciality" cocktails (which is usually 9 bucks, way overprice), and half off appetizers, which is pretty solid and I am so glad they extend their happy till 7pm now. I think during game day like football or basketball, the burgers are 2 dollars off, 3 dollar wells, and 3 dollar drafts. The 3 dollar drafts thing is weird because the last time I went it was a Tuesday and they had a boring bowl game on and the waiter told me that ALL drafts were 3 dollars and I look at him and be like really?! So I got a Lost Gold IPA (made by Real Ale, a Texas brewery), which was delicious and has a good bite and Chimay White (belgian beer), which is usually 8 or 9 bucks at any beer speciality places so for 3 bucks that was amazing.

The parking here is pretty good to find, I think the only negative I have about this place is the food is a little overprice and the wait staff aren't really well educated about the beers or their seasonal beers. They need to have rotating beers on drafts and they need more speciality beers on bottles.
