Review from Alexander H.
Quick walk from the ferry terminal along the main road. Stopped in on a snowy winter day and tried the "world famous porridge." The dried fruit and nuts were a great addition to the porridge. Was talked into buying two sausage rolls - b/c one keeps the other warm - and ate half of one at Snug and took the other 1 1/2 along with us on our hike up the mountain. The sausage rolls are best if you can get them right out of the oven and still hot.
Friendly service. Good lattes. Quick turn around time for food.
I would go again. -

Nestled on the side of the main road moments after departing from the ferry, The Snug has much to offer in way of home cooking however the dish I haven't stop fantasizing of is worth even just a day trip to try (the ferry runs frequently and departs from Horseshoe Bay, the sailing is a mere 20 minutes) is the "world famous porridge" the mouth watering aroma drifts from the steamy bowl and the fruit compote tingles your senses. Its hands down one of the best dishes I've had this year...dont waste the day...run to Snug Cafe :)

What would a brief sojourn home to BC be without a trip to the Snug!? Uhh, it'd be like arriving at YVR and seeing that the Lions have been removed, that's what. THAT'S how strongly I feel about these breakfasts.
If you haven't made the trek (it's only a 20 minute ferry) over to Bowen Island on a Saturday morning you're missing out! The breakfast wrap is euphoric and the whole place just wreaks of small town islander charm.
Sitting out on the picnic tables surrounded by creeping dark purple flowering plants, chatting with neighbours or crosswording, all while sipping on your coffee and waiting for your name to be called for breakfast is a thing of pure bliss.
Stop on by for your breakfast or lunch needs and if you haven't been to Bowen Island lately, take a trek around! There's lots to see and do. -

Adorable little cafe on the main drag right off the ferry. The British man working the till is hilarious and very charming...I'm sure he gets a lot of Bowen ladies, even if he is 60 years old.
My soy mocha was awesome and the food looked quite good too. They have sandwiches and baked goods. The place was very busy but the line moves fast.
There are about 10 tables or so inside and a few large benches outside to enjoy your beverage or food.
If you visit Bowen, make sure to drop in at this cafe! -

I love this location and the ambiance but i have to say the food isn't that special. It ain't bad either but it seems pretty expensive for what you are getting. I love that you can sit outside and chat with whomever you run into or pet all the local animals waiting for their owners. This where i go to avoid buying a coffee or treat on the ferry.

Best breakfast ever! If there's only one reason to go here the panfried potatoes (hashbrowns?) are it! Oh, and the yogurt parfait, this is nothing you've experienced before. Seriously though...I haven't had anything there I didn't like. If you're a local (which I'm a weekend local) they make sure they know you by name. The lunch time menu is just as great! My personal fav isn't on the menu though, it's in the display case: The viagra salad! A must try! I don't give the full 5 stars because even though this is the best place on the Island to get coffee (JJBean) it's not as great as JJBeans. All my bowen island reviews will be minus that star for just that..BAD COFFEE on the island! Maybe I should open a real coffee shop there, hmmmm....java for thought!

This charming little cafe was a perfect rest stop on a Saturday boat trip. There was a large variety of sandwiches, a row of delectable looking baked goods, ad a series of salads behind the counter. We ordered a BLT and went out onto the patio to enjoy our lunch in the sun. The sandwich was delicious with hot bacon snuggled in between layers of lettuce, tomatoes, and chewy bread. I was accompanied by a green salad with a light vinaigrette and fed two people very happily. It was a wonderful place to stop, relax, and enjoy good food.

The Snug Cafe is a small takeout or sit-in cafe minutes away from the Snug Cove ferry terminal on Bowen Island. Due to the location, it's hard to miss it if you take the ferry from Horseshoe Bay. They serve the typical sandwiches, wraps, soups, pastries, cookies, coffee, etc. Priced on the higher side - $7.55 for my breakfast wrap, but the quality of the ingredients and presentation was well worth it. My breakfast wrap, which had scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, salsa, and cheddar cheese. There were large amounts of eggs and several slices of thick bacon which intertwined well together. However, I was slightly disappointed that it took about 25 minutes for it delivered to my table. However, I found out that it was restaurant quality and the ingredients and presentation of the wrap were very good.

after a day of walking the serene trails of Bowen Island, this charming little cafe makes for a perfect fuel stop!
snug has a nice assortment of homemade sandwiches & salads, breakfast, sweet treats. they also serve organic coffee and have the loveliest do-it-yourself lose leaf tea selection. the restaurant itself is full of character - feels a bit like visiting a quaint little cottage.
the picnic table patio seating is the perfect way to enjoy the sunshine and trees :) -

Very nice patio to sit outside and enjoy a meal or snack in the sunshine. DIY tea station and water, you grab your food and drinks then take it outside (no wait service). The smoked salmon on a bagel was yummy. It's a nice cute spot on Bowen Island to grab some food.
