This is actually for Les Saints rock club on 30 ste-catherine o. all comedy or shopping was purely unintentional...

hey, indie boys and girls! wanna have a rockin good time? well kids,  les saints is the place to go, dontcha know. just follow the trail of skinny jeans and hoodies! you can't miss it. it's just down the street from that other club, metropolis.

but this one's  a tiny venue, see, and it's located downstairs, although you have to walk up a pair of stairs from the outside to get it. crazy huh?

the first thing that greets you in les saints is musty mildewy smell. but hey now! don't let that put you off. dig those chicks in leg warmers. check out the boy in the too-small sweater and elvis costello glasses. this is home, right? sure the limes may be past their prime in your vodka tonic. stick to beer. the wait staff is great, really nice.

just watch out for the beer runner, who will knock you out of the way, dance floor or not, to do his job. he reminds me of  those idiot frat boys who always had to start the mosh pit in the 1990's, remember them? sure you do. they were the guys perry ferrell and billy corgan used to have a hissy about. and yep, you guessed it,  they're now working as beer runners at les saints!

    but i digress.

the cavernous club has surprisingly good acoustics and you can sit on the once-plush couches if you're lucky enough to get a seat. if not, it's all good.

now, i know what you might ask. why on earth would they put a pole and sound system almost smack dab in the middle of the floor where you might want to stand and watch the show?  let me answer your question with a question. aren't you cool enough to know you really aren't supposed to stand there in rapt attention? this is indie music. electro n' stuff.  you're supposed to hang at the back, looking bored,  pretending to ignore the band. you're supposed to be yapping away or going out every five minutes for a cigarette. you aren't there for the music, are you?

well even if you are,  les saints is still a half-way kind of decent place when all is said and done. come and see the band that might almost make it big, relatively speaking,  in the next  eight months. then again they might fade away and be remembered in five years only by a handful of people. but thats music for ya. cheers.
