I really like the ambiance in here... Definitely an artsy coffee shop but with a strange dose of a trendy, sunny disposition despite the slow service (yes, one server does everything). Think: alien-like art on the walls presented in a fairly professional way with modest wooden furniture and a leather couch with good wear and tear and a bright front window. I don't drink coffee, so I can't speak to that, but I will say the Chipotle-chicken, pepperoncini, chipotle mayo, green onions, tomato, romaine lettuce, shredded cheddar ($8.95) was wonderful with a decent serving of spicy, moist goodness; the detox smoothie on the other hand wasn't worth its price in flavor, size or dose of antioxidants.

    Bottom line: Get the Chipotle.

Great sandwiches and bagels! I love their hummus and feta cheese bagel.. delish! Small place, but has a nice ambiance. I live 1 min. walking from here, so it's convenient to come for a snack :)

Not as cheap as I'd like it to be, but worth it!

A great place to study, get work done, or chill :)

The Rumor Mill has a moderate amount of classic and specialty coffee choices, with some other drinks as well. Specialty drinks are about $3-$5 dollars, typical of this kind of coffee shop. Many sandwich and crepe (sweet and savory) options as well. I had the Alaska crepe (lox salmon) and it was great! Cost me about $9, but was huge and definitely worth it.

Came in on a Sunday before noon and it got a little crowded from noon-3. I did notice food took a little long to come out for some of the customers, but it assume that because it's all made fresh. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Has free wifi, quite a few outlets, and ample space to study. The tables are the smaller two-person tables, you can stick two together if they're open. It can get a little dim so try to sit by the window if you can! They even have some communal computers in the back area. This place has a great atmosphere and it's filled with awesome art. There is a couch area where you can kickback and read a book... no worries if you don't have one--there is also a communal bookshelf! Lots of street parking too.

I would love going there if they could only figure out their ventilation system.
When it gets packed and everyone orders food there, it gets so oozy I can't breath and when I leave, my hair and clothes smell like deep fried onion...ergh.
Don't think I will go back there because of that.

Rumor Mill, I like you. I pass by you all the time during my neighborhood runs, but rarely stop in because it takes as little time for me to brew a cup of coffee at home as it would to order a latte from you. But one night, I needed a change of scenery so I'm quite glad you're so close to my humble adobe.

Your Le Chevre crepe $7.95 was divine with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, spinach and feta cheese specially for me (thanks for being so understanding about my goat cheese aversion).

Your medium latte $3.75 was good, but could use a bolder roast to be even better. I'm not complaining too much though. I thoroughly enjoyed wasting away a few hours with my journal and book curled up in your plush chairs.

    I think I'll be back.

p.s. Brownie points (or zucchini bread points!) for the bookshelf by the door that's "take one, give one." I love that. More points for always having a Groupon now deal that's $5 for $8. And another smattering of points for friendly service and free wifi. Did I also hear something about open word nights, art exhibits, and live band shows?

Move over, Conservatory, I think I've found my new favorite writing spot in Culver City! There are plenty of tables with nearby outlets and free wi-fi with a $3 purchase. The best part about this place for someone who needs to get some work done is the music--it's soft and not at all distracting. If you didn't bring your own computer, they have desktops in the back for light Internet browsing.

The prices for drinks and food are reasonable for an independent coffee shop in LA. I enjoyed my soy cappucino (the smallest size is fairly big) and the veggie breakfast (vegetarian mock meat patty, egg, and cheese on an English muffin). After tax, that order came out to under $9.

Street parking is plentiful, and the stop for the 1 bus is right outside.

A great indie cafe along Washington Blvd.  Used to be associated with the laundry mat but now a separate business.

Small tables in the front, internet stations in the back.

The latte I had was good but took a while.  I will be back as this is the perfect spot to get some reading or work done.

Street parking on Washington may be tough so try the side streets.

I found this place by chance but I love it! Such a nice coffee shop. I come here all the time to study, and I love there classique crepe, nutella, bananas, and whipped creame complemented with coffee, yummy addiction. I had my first americana here! You walk in, and theres works of artist on the wall, and a shelf of books by the window.   Cool place to chill, be creative, or just enjoy a nice cup of joe. There salads are great too! $3 minumum purchase to use wifi.

I went to this place yesterday with my daughter and her friend. The girls ordered  sandwiches and I ordered a crepe. The girls said the sandwiches were okay. They only had two types of bread to choose from...either sourdough or whole grain. I ordered the Chevre. So on the menu this is the description: Le Chevre-sun-dried tomato, pesto, goat cheese, spinach. $7.95. The crepe itself was too sweet for a savory crepe, and I ended up with a filling that consisted of diced tomatoes, goat cheese and some greens. No signs of pesto or sun dried tomatoes which was the one reason I ordered the dish. I ordered house coffee that was just okay. The almond croissant i ordered was probably the best thing. Flaky and great almond paste filling.

The lady at the counter that may have been the manager/owner came off as rude.
She looked annoyed when I gave her the groupon which was on my phone. I had called previously to see if that was okay with them and she herself had said yes. In person she said she would not accept it again in this form. OKAYY....like i never plan on going back. If it wasn't for the groupon the prices were too expensive for sandwiches that were kinda small and nothing special. A crepe that didn't match the description, and mediocre coffee. I'm definitely not going back for an almond croissant. Oh and I forgot to mention the sandwiches came with a side of salad. The dressing was awful. Both my daughter and her friend didn't eat it.

A combination of coffeehouse and laundromat, Rumor Mill is a great escape from the city. I come here once every few months because, though my apartment complex has a washer/dryer, it is a huge pain in the ass and sometimes you just want a quick wash in a giant machine while sipping on your coffee.

Laundry facilities - 5 stars. A little pricey, but lots of very modern and efficient machines. Old school arcade game in the corner.

Coffee - 4 stars. Smooth and rich, nothing notably outstanding about it.

Cafe food - 5 stars. Very eclectic and inventive.

Bakery - 2 stars. Presentation, quality and price NEED IMPROVEMENT. I would gladly pay an extra dollar for a muffin if it was presented in a way that I knew I was getting one of the best in town.

Ambience - 3 stars. Nice, laid-back vibe. Old couches, which is fine. Not a very comfortable space, hard chairs. Not a lot of places to relax. Wi-fi works great, though.

I was impressed with this place. Friendly service, good coffee, awesome food.

I had the drip coffee which was good enough to alleviate my throbbing caffeine headache. At $2.10 for a 20 ounce, its a good deal. I detest salmon, so I've never tried lox, but the deli bagel: cream cheese, capers, lox, tomatoes and onions sounded so good I tried it. Wow, was I glad.  Although the lox were piled on, it didn't taste fishy at all. I asked my wife who's had lox of lox, and she tells me not all lox are this good.

The guy who makes the food seems to really take pride in what he does. I saw him making a crepe on a small flat plate and it looked really good.  The place is large, clean, and has lots of tables.  Will make sure to return and try a crepe next time.

So far I'm liking the place.  Being in a less congested and semi more residential street parallel to venice, and possibly bc it is connected to a laundromat, the clientele seem more chatty
Style wise, i'm liking the wood/earth tone decor with cool graphic art for sale hanging on the walls.
Functionality wise, being connected to a coin laundry makes sense.  There are a lot of wooden tables and seats; however, few couches.  There are also plenty of outlets lined up on one side of the wall.  Plus, with a $3 purchase there is Wifi.
Price wise, it's avg.  Extra add ins and/or substitutes are 65 cents which I did not expect.  However, the sizes are fairly generous.
The one neg so far that I can tell from being here (which has actually gotten more annoying than i thought) is that the back exit doors are so heavy that whenever someone opens it, it slams back closed.  Sadly that little thing bumped this place from a 4 star to a 3.
Other than that this is another nice local coffee joint on the west side.

excellent undercover spot on a stretch of  washington blvd.  that still has a  70's police show shot in los angeles vibe...rockford files?  that bright emptiness of l.a.

cafe is a nexus for a certain type of serious brain...i've noticed this as i waited for laundry to dry and drank their admittedly...not fantastic americanos but still decent.  i'm happy to eat and pay for whatever i order since it is all good enough and the place is copacetic and relaxing.

if you are a reader of books there is an informal lending library -- take what you want and make amends when you have something to give --  kept well stocked by weirdos with tastes ranging from krishnamurti to crais.

Just tried out the Rumor Mill Coffee Shop. I live in the neighborhood and drove by repeatedly over the years because I couldn't figure out what was going on with co-signage with the laundromat.
Well, it has nothing to do with the laundromat other than being next door.
I had a latte that was yummy, the background music was kinda bluesy, which I like, and was not loud at all - Perfect sound level. I had the vegan zuccini bread which was absolutely delicious, and my girfriend had a chocolate chip cookie which she rated A+. The wifi connection was solid.
All in all it's everything that I like in a local coffee house - Hence, 5 stars!

    My new favorite study spot!!!

Recently discovered Rumor Mill, and I love it. It's been a great place to study, as it covers all my ideal study conditions:

    1) Free Wifi
    2) Great food and drink (prices vary depending what you get)
    3) Easy and accessible street parking
    4) Lots of available seating
    5) ART

It's a really chill environment, with a cool community vibe --untainted by commercialism.  If you enjoy these things, then this place is for YOU!

    OTHER PROS:
    +Friendly staff
+AWESOME FOOD (must enumerate on this:
--Classique Crepe: DEELICIOUS! Banana and nutella. I have had bad crepes before, even with nutella. This is NOT a bad crepe.
--Alaskan Crepe: A yummy savory option.
--Hummus & Chips: A MUST TRY. Cilantro & Jalapeno hummus made in house. It's pretty awesome. Got me hooked.
    --Zucchini bread: good stuff.

    Cons:
-Lighting has been a bit dim when I have gone.

Cool ambiance and it's just nice to be inside a local, independently owned coffee shop for once as opposed to all the Peets, Coffee Beans, and Starbucks around the city.

Feels like it's run by a family, which is comforting. Had the soy latte which came hot but not scorching which was so amazing. Usually I have to wait 10 minutes for my drink to cool enough to not melt my mouth but not here. That alone is reason enough for me to go back.

My friends and I came here to be productive based on the pictures that you yelpers posted! Check them out if you haven't!

I was confused that this place was a combined coin laundry cafe, but I asked the worker today and he said the only thing they share is the swinging door that connects the two establishments. I'm still not sure why customers kept telling him about broken washers next door though.

Anyway, the Rumor Mill is really easy to miss. It's near the corner of a small street, Atlantic Ave., & Washington Blvd. You'll probably see a big face of a woman and a sign that reads "coin laundry coffee" before you see the sign for this cafe. It is also across the street from an orange building/Brazilian restaurant & motel. Street parking (no meters!) doesn't seem bad and I think there may be a private lot in the back as well.

    Pros:
+Free wifi with minimum purchase of $3.00
    +Lots of mini tables available
+Community board for folks to share business cards, flyers, announcements, etc...
+Free computer usage with internet for a limited time (but if there's no one there then you're fine!)
+Take a book, leave a book shelf in front
+Hand sanitizer available for the germophobes
    +Artwork displayed on the wall
    +Friendly worker
    +Outlets available

    Cons:
-Only ONE bathroom stall. Not the business if you drink like a camel.
-About $4.50 for a regular sized drink. (I ordered something that had Turtle in it's name from the chalk board farthest to the left)
-Only one worker making all the drinks & food! I didn't mind waiting but I'm sure it sucked to be him!
-Dim lighting because the windows are facing a building and the sunlight doesn't really seem to shine into the cafe

Overall, a great atmosphere to get some work done or meet up with some friends!

I appreciate any establishment that doesn't make students feel unwelcome as they prepare to have an intense study session. Rumor Mill's one of these places.

Love the ambiance here. I need some kind of activity around me to study because I'm so ADD and this is perfect. The music is a bit loud but I'm pretty sure that they're not going to kick you out if you ask them to lower it a bit.

I won't be redundant in listing all the good things about this place (wifi, seating, etc) but will just say that the time flew by while I studied here. The guy working here at this time was such a sweetheart. Really appreciate that.

The coffee's alright. It's nothing too mind blowing. It definitely doesn't taste bad, which is always a plus haha. Had a crepe too-- it was pretty decent. Haven't tried any of their other food items but will make sure to in the future.

Thanks for taking care of this poor little grad student, Rumor Mill. :) Please continue to take care of me for the next two years!

    Dear Rumor Mill,
Please hire me. Your espresso is hideous. I am a barista; we are a good match. I could fix you, I promise. Your food is SO amazing, and your small staff is sweet and warm and friendly. Your space is cozy and welcoming, and your attention to the arts is commendable.

    Your espresso (I'msosorryIwishthiswasn'ttrue) is hideoussss.

The only thing you need is a trained barista, or at least a few books on espresso. For serious. Today I watched the wonderful, amazing young man (who is an awesome dude and makes a KILLER sandwich) extract my double shot for almost a minute, until the poor, poor coffee was literally transparent and sputtering. Undrinkable. Which is interesting, because their (single origin??) drip coffee is actually really good (and would be even better if they didn't let it sit around for more than an hour). Obviously you have a good source, and though you have a cheap(er) espresso machine, you could make do if... again... you had a trained barista.

In short; I would eat here every day if I was a rich trust fund baby and not a poor barista. I could drink your drip coffee without it disagreeing with my pretentious palette. I will not now, not ever again order anything with espresso in it; unless you hire me (...or.. you know... read up a bit).

Five stars for the food. Hell, eleventy billion stars for the food, mmmmhm.
Five stars for how AWESOME you peeps are.
Five stars for your cute little place.
Four and a half stars for your absolutely drinkable drip coffee.
    Zero stars for your espresso.

Here's some help to get started:
    http://www.sweetmarias...
    http://www.scaa.org/

Or you could just hire me!

Hoping to see/taste a difference soon, with a sincere heart, out of love, etc etc,

Ok, here's the latest update on The Rumor Mill...

I suppose they've been reading some of the reviews posted by frequent customers, which in all is great! I've come to learn that they now offer a max of 45 minutes on the PC's there, on the basis of purchasing $3 worth of whatever it is you'd like. This is still just ok in my book... since it helps keep the stragglers @ bay. It's a bit snug in the way the place is built, however it is a nice local Coffee spot for basic internet access. And the service has improved!

Stop by and see what you think! ;-)

A gf joined me in a laundry adventure today at the laundromat/cafe that is Rumor Mill.  I wish every laundry day could be this fun!!

We came on a weekday in the late-morning-ish, so when we got there we basically had our choice of washers and dryers because there were only a couple other people there.  We put our stuff in a couple of the double-capacity washers ($2.25/load) and then popped in next door to check out the menu.

The menu was pretty diverse in casual breakfast and lunchy food - salads, sammiches, coffee drinks, juices, pastries, quiche, etc.  I got a scoop of tuna salad on a green salad for $7-ish and a bottled water for $1-ish, and my friend got a coffee.  The salad was okay, the tuna wasn't as mayonaise-y as I would like it to be, but the red-wine vinegar dressing that came with it helped.

20 minutes-ish after putting our laundry in, we were ready to dry!  Dryers are 25 cents for 8 minutes, so we put our quarters in and hung out at the little table in the back (near the swinging door that separates the cafe and laundry area) til they were done.

I see pros and cons to this place:

    Pro:
    * Easy parking in the back lot, or on the street
    * FOOD next door
    * Time flies when you're eating next door, or using the free wi-fi!
    * They have several computers in the cafe that are free to use
    * Hours of operation: 6am to 10pm
    * The dryers have a huge capacity - they'd easily handle 2 loads or more.
    * They have larger capacity washers there, for large loads of heavy duty items like rugs, comforters, and towels.

    Con:
    * The "double load capacity" washers really were not that big - it was the size of a regular single-load IMO.  So, $2.25 per load is a lot to me.
    * The service in the cafe wasn't as friendly as I would imagine, given the cuteness of the place.  It was actually a bit cold.
    * The only fresh fruit the cafe had was 2 really speckled, older bananas.
    * The outside seating in other pictures here were not offered when we were there today : (

I guess, overall I'm not coming back here for the quality of the food or even the service, but for the uniqueness of the business and the opportunity to make a chore an opportunity for social time.  Which, considering how fast it felt like our laundry got done - are the most important things I suppose!

One final note - during the 20-ish minutes we sat at the cafe, 3 separate people came in specifically for The Cowboy ( $7.95 for sliced chicken breast, cheddar, tomatoes, onions, and spicy ranch dressing on a ciabatta bread).  So maybe they knew something we didn't!

This laundromat/cafe sucks a fat one. Thanks for pilling my clothes, stupid washing machines! The janitor woman had a nasty staring problem; I mean, we were just doing some laundry, not plotting to steal a fucking dryer. And some assface took our stuff out of the washer approximately two minutes after the cycle ended--even though there was another machine available. What the hell? The cashier in the cafe was kinda rude, the tables weren't leveled (very irritating), and the ice blended chai had too much ice.

Am I missing something about this place, or is my luck really that bad? The only redeeming features of this place are the change machine (because sometimes quarters come in handy, you know?) and the free wi-fi (um, but not from 12-2pm).

Delicious coffee! I wanted a pick me up that was not the usual Starbucks down the street and I was stoked to find this place near my work.

Got a Vanilla Latte and banana nut bread and thoroughly enjoyed both. The wireless Internet and public computer stations there are a definite plus and there is much to stare at on the walls with all the fabulous bohemian hippy artwork surrounding the joint.

Saw that they had a laundry mat next door and the coffee barista informed me that people order through a glass window attached to the laundry mat. Now if only Lou's wine bar had that option with the laundry mat next to them. Just don't do your whites at the same time!, lol.

My only gripe about this place is their high prices... I paid $4 for a small 12 oz. latte, ahemmm, that's a bit much even if there is a vanilla shot in there. So that's the trade off for good coffee. I'll probably be back for a sandwich since their selection looks choice, however I will be using a coupon.

EDIT:  Since posting my first review, this establishment has changed owners at least once.  Additionally, they've changed the coffee and, of course, the prices.  I can't recommend it anymore.  Seriously.  I'm not joking in an effort to keep the Yelpers away.

Okay, as someone else said, the idea of this place totally reminds me of SF or Portland, but the service and decor are all LA. Good food (if a little pricey), good coffee, unpretentious staff, and good laundry machines.  We definitely need more of these places, especially on the Westside.

The mostly seems to be young and hip graduate students or older undergrads.  Nice crowd, not too obnoxious.

I'm pretty much resolved to get a business loan and start my own place very similar to The Rumor Mill.  When I open my own, writers, entertainment industry 'insiders' and hipsters will be banned.  Anyone on a notebook computer caught using Final Draft or MovieMagic software will be banned. For life.

Man, two years ago, when I first started going, this place was teh secsiness. Now, it seems all you hipsters have found it.  I'm pretty much done with it. I have to wait for a machine, even on Monday nights and Friday Nights.  There is one good night left, but I'm not telling you what it is, because then you'll start going there.  In fact, I'm going to give this place a low star review in order to keep you cool kid yelpers away from my favorite place to do laundry.

Okay, for all you naysayers because of the wireless no longer being free, maybe you need to reconsider your expectations.

Places provide free wifi access as a COURTESY to their customers. Let's not get greedy. A free hour with purchase seems pretty reasonable to me, and I'm not sitting in a coffee shop all day just to use my computer (I hope you're not either). Part of any business model is profit. How do you expect them to make one if you hog all their seats leeching wifi and not buying anything????

That said, this is my favorite little place around to do laundry. It's right next door so I can leave my clothes going and not feel like I'm stuck watching my clothes spin like Corduroy Bear.

Had the toasted zucchini bread and a caprese sandwich, and an iced vanilla latte. All were really great, very friendly service, and a perfectly crowded place with just enough business and seating to feel comfortably crowded.

It's funny that a bunch of people are giving "one star" because of an internet policy. Yes, it's true you need to make a purchase for internet time, but Rumor Mill's sandwiches (The Cowboy!), coffee, chai, and teas are all fantastic (and the Chocolate Cake isn't have bad either). I am here at least once week to grab a meal and/or do laundry...and I live near the Beverly Center.

The internet voucher is good for a full hour, over multiple visits if necessary. So, just grab one every time you visit whether you need it or not.

And maybe it's just my New-York state o' mind, but laundry is not expensive here. The space is mostly-spotless, you have a great cafe to relax in, and the staff is usually very personable. The only thing I could ask for is more inspired art on the walls. ;  )

I like the Rumor Mill best very early in the morning.  The shop gets great light streaming through the front windows, creating a fine place in which to enjoy some newspapers and a coffee.

The staff is unfailingly friendly and the coffee is good, but not great.

The XM satellite radio always playing here occasionally grates.

The parking situation is not ideal either: There are a limited number of spaces in back and 1-2 spots on the street in front.  Otherwise you're stuck pulling onto one of the neighborhood side streets.

If you're a lover of good-quality bagels, you'll want to give Rumor Mill bagels a try.  I've found them reliably among the best in town.  (For what that's worth...)

And I've never done laundry here, but it's nice to know if I lived in an apartment complex off Washington Blvd. I'd have the sort of regular laundry-doing experience I could have only dreamed of back when I was sweating it out in the disgusting and rude laundry hovels of Greenpoint, Brooklyn...

TRY THE HAM SAMMY!! OMG.....i kicked Starbucks and coffee bean to the curb when I had this sandwich here. I haven't tried any other sandwiches because i cant seem to not order my ham sammy.....but i will...some day =)
The place is really mellow....typical LA coffee shop....people typing away on their lab tops...art hanging on the wall by local artists...delicious pastry case...you know the usual.
The coffee is OK...not the best. The only thing i don't like is that i can never find parking!!

    GARBAGE! Just some random facts:
    * 8 minutes for 25 cents to dry. Clothes usually dries is 45-50 minutes.
    * Cheapest washing machine is $2.75
    * No place to sit. There is one measly table, and the top of the table is not screwed in so as soon as you set your laptop on it, it comes crashing down.
    * They used to have free internet... now they have a new software that gives you a code for 1 hour of usage if you spend $6.00 in their cafe. This price DOES NOT include the fact that you're spending $30 to wash 9 pounds of clothes.
RIP OFF! RIP OFF! RIP OFF!
They lost me and at least 5 of my friends because of their new internet rule.

I'm a big fan of Rumor Mill and unlike most other reviewers, I don't even do laundry next door.

The staff is amazing. Super friendly, personable, and helpful. They deal with unruly customers or disgruntled laundry people with grace. They are always down to help answer any questions I have. I've been going here for a year now.

Pros: wifi, parking, espresso is great! don't believe the haters, awesome furniture, sick artwork that is always changing, and really cool performance/community artist engagements.

cons: sometimes can be crowded, but not on the regular

I've been doing my laundry here for a couple years now. I love the Rumor Mill because I can take care of business, eat a sandwich, and do my laundry at one place. The people that work there are totally chill, not an attitude to be found.

The washers and dryers linked up on the other side of the wall are well maintained and cleaned daily- this is why my anal retentive ass loves it.

Happy colors all around and local artwork is exhibited in the coffee shop next door.

I was looking for a nice place to sit and finish the book I've been reading and google pointed me towards The Rumor Mill. There are cafes that are much closer to my place, but I'm very glad I made the trip.

It's a very cool little cafe. It's right next to a laundry mat so one could do laundry, read, eat, and relax all in one place. I really liked the decor, the ambiance and the comfy chair. Had myself a tasty mocha latte and had a great time finishing my book. It's also nice to be at a cafe where there are more people reading, studying and chatting, rather than just sitting there looking hip or creepy.

And the place has a book exchange policy. Close to the comfy chairs there are a couple of small tables with a few books on them. Among them I saw Heart of Darkness, and some Agatha Christie  stories. Apparently you are free to grab a book, if you replace it with one of yours.

I did not get anything to eat, but the food looked tasty. Next time I will try their treats.

Though I didn't use them, I did see a row of 5 or so computers in the back. I think they are free to use. And I believe they also have free wireless if you choose to bring your own laptop. Which I might consider doing next time.

Lastly, unlike a couple of the other reviews I read, the cashiers were very courtesy and cheery. Always makes it easier to buy something when there are smiley cute cashiers.

I gots love for the indie coffee houses of LA, and I always try to support them.  But here's the thing -- you have to have good coffee.

The Rumor Mill definitely has the laid back, indie vibe down.  Their wifi used to be free for one hour with purchase (an hour?  hmpph) but I think they're transitioning over to free with purchase.

But here's my beef.  I ordered a large latte there, about as straightforward as it gets, and it was horrendous.  Literally undrinkable.  Burned, bitter, disgusting.  They need to do some serious quality control on the coffee...

I'm not even a coffee snob.  But next time I need to stop in while my car's being serviced, I'm sticking to bottled water.

Fun and funky little cafe that is indeed next door to a laundromat.  Just a quiet, cool vibe, with people reading, studying, or using those computers.  Music was good and unobtrusive.  I found it entirely charming.

Or perhaps that was just the company?

Where the hipsters go to do their laundry in Culver City/Mar Vista/Marina del Rey. It also has the typical local flavor crazies. I grabbed some late late breakfast at the coffee shop and chillaxed while my laundry did its thing. Definitely a bit pricey, but sometimes it is worth it for non-sketchiness!

Sigh, no true love ala Dr. Horrible's Sing a blog. Maybe next time ;)

Pretty good place.  I love the concept of coffee, deserts, internet and coin laundry.  I have a laundry machine in my apartment so I won't need all the services here, but it's good to know that it exists.

The coffee is pretty good as is the atmosphere as a whole.  I like the book exchange they got, even though it's small.  I'm a huge fan of those.

Getting free internet for an hour is great.  For more than an hour would be better but you can't ask for too much when it's free.

Only gets four stars cause I can't comment on any of the food cause I didn't have any.  Should probably be 4.5.

I came here one day in search of free wifi.  Unfortunately, I arrived around 11:45, and by the time I got all set up, I realized they don't allow access to their wireless network from noon to 2...so that was a bummer. But the Orange Julius I had was great.

My second time here was just to meet someone really quick, so I didn't order anything (the other person did).

Today is my third stop at Rumor Mill. I'm actually here now...as I write this review...isn't that funny?  I ordered a Ham & Swiss sandwich and was happy that it was served warm. It was quite tasty, but I didn't have to spend 8 bucks on it. Their two sandwiches under 8 bucks involve veggies, so that's not for me. At least it's tasty. The bread is yummy.

It's a little too cold in here for my taste, and the music is a little loud, but it's not so bad. The staff is friendly enough. And I'm happy that the wifi WORKS! Every time I take my laptop to Panera Bread in westchester, I can never connect to their network, so I get frustrated and heal my pain by spending way too much money at the bookstore next door.  But this isn't a Panera review, so I will stop now.
