Bellevue, WA
Came here for happy hour with my brothers after finals so I was in good spirits...
expectations? Pizza and beer...how can that go wrong?
I've been by this place a million times and never thought to go inside. Idk why but the outside never really appealed to me.....first thoughts walking in was obviously the decor. Really nice architecture that was unique with tons of decorative thematic props everywhere...I also liked that they had a flat screen propped up in every corner of this place....
anyways on to the food and drinks
I had the orange vodka dream weaver thingy...not sure wut it was called but it was delicious! Coulda been a bit more stiff tho...my brother was enjoying his bucket long island haha I'll def have to come back and try one of these sometime in the near future...
We ordered a shit ton of wings...
twice fried spicy chicken wings basket- was like sex in your mouth goodness
bbq wings- were really good too but too much sauce
chipotle wings - looked like they were burnt but tasted great
some other stuff we had...
onion wings were really good too.....had a couple orders of those
I wanted to try their pulled pork sandwich...let me just say now that the pulled pork sandwich should have brought this review's ratings down to a 2 stars but I'm feeling nice tonight so I'll give them 4 stars for everything else that compensated....ohh and also bcuz I let my brother take care of the bill ^__^
that pulled pork sandwich reminded me of what I used to get in kindergarten during lunch time....honestly what the hell was that?! 8 bucks for a bun that was like 2 inches in diameter.....a dab/pinch of meat and bbq sauce....I ate that thing in two bites and was still way too hungry so we ordered the largest size of the bat outta hell pizza...the cream sauce one with tomatoes and some onions...let's just say it was alright....fresh out the oven but nothin to die for.
oh well! good enough experience for me! -

Set up:
The Rock Renton, Washington. We came across this Rock Wood Fire Pizza when we were leaving Frys and after we ate at Jimmy Johns so we decided to go back the following day.
Pro's:
-Ambiance
-Convenient to other shopping experiences
Con's:
-Bad service
-Poor management
-Cold pizza
-No rechecks from the server
-Server attempted to add additional items to our check
-Manager on duty broke the rules to add points to a back stage pass but it wasn't even enough to comp the soda my girlfriend got
Summary:
The location was slammed this particular night, but it was not in the dining section. There was no reason our server should have been neglectful and had the issues he did and there was no reason that our food should have come out cold and wrong. There was no reason the server should have charged us for items that were not something we ordered and there was no reason the server should have neglected our table.
The manager on duty then made things worse by offering us a free Back Stage pass card with points on it. We were told that 100 points would yield a $5.00 discount she gave us less than that. And to top it off the pass is free to any guest.
Things were made better the following day by the GM when he stated that he would retrain the server, talk with the manager about how she "loaded" the pass (They are not supposed to be able to do that) and he sent out a complementary gift card.
We will try this location again. The décor is amazing compared to the others we have been to however the service needs a bit of tweaking. I can not say I won't recommend this location, I can just say that it isn't my favorite. -

The set up...
Celebrating 600 quick tips...I had to make this count!!!
The issue.... lets call him a hormonal imbalanced, lisping, buffoon that won't give you the time of day unless there is some kind of alcohol on your table. Why is this an issue...
Well for people that go out and can have pizza and a beer... good for you jolly wankers, I am not so lucky. However, I CAN go out and have a pizza and a cola, which was all I was attempting to do.
I have been to 4 Rocks and if I had to rank them in the order that I like them ... so far.. they would be:
Auburn (Lake Tapps)
Tacoma (Jackson street)
Federal Way
and then there is this one....
We had passed this Rock the night prior (Friday) on our way to Vino's for a vino... This location seemed cool, like the others so when Saturday rolled around and I was at Quick tip 600... it was my choice where I chose to celebrate and THIS... well, THIS was it!!!
We started by taking photos of the outside to post on Yelp like good little tourists. We have been here over a year, but we treat everything new like we would if we had just arrived in this .... place.
Can you say BUSY?!? Not a big deal to us, since we have moved here we have spent less time waiting in line than we ever did in FL. In FL, you spend 33% of your life span in line waiting... restaurants, bathrooms, traffic, even your own bed...
It appeared that most of the "Traffic" was headed for the bar and our wait was less than 10 minutes, so I went to the ladies room and then took a few photos. I must say that out of the 4 Rocks, this one has the coolest decorum.
We were waited on by Reese. Let me explain... Reese works out, then waits tables, then works out, then waits tables, then works out, then waits tables and the cycle continues. He also had the IQ of a lily pad and the customer service skills of a blade of grass in a hay field, up.. that is unless you are ordering Alcohol.
We were one of 8 tables in a small area and of the 8 tables about 5 were filled and of those 5, one was ready to go, however Reese over charged them by "Adding" things to their ticket that didn't belong there.
Reese took our order and brought our drinks (Soda and a water) and left. He walked by our table every 5 to 10 minutes to get to the table just past us filled with 5 people taking Jello shots, drinking out of buckets and having beer, but never bothered to ask us if there was anything we might need or want.
He didn't even bring out our pizza (Which wasn't what we ordered and was cold) the manager, Marti (Female) did. We told her that it didn't look right, but she served us up anyway and Reese walked right by twice and didn't ask anything, but the 3rd time, after our 2nd slice each, he said, "did your pizza come out right" to which I promptly said, "no...but..." and before I could finish, he left.
Now one thing I have learned, since being Buzzie's faithful companion, is that he can tolerate sooo much more than I can. I have Irish roots and the temperament to go with it. When even he was irritated with Reese, I knew I couldn't let it go.
Reese came back by and we managed to get him to stop long enough so that we could ask him for some additional sauce and the nice waiter brought us 2 ounces. Aw, how nice, since there was very little on our pizza and Buzz ordered add'l sauce. We got no refills... there was no rum in our drinks, so we weren't important enough for refills.
Finally, Reese returned to wrap up our table as he now had 2 more tables full of drinkers and had much more important things to attend to than us. He brought our check and it was $32.00. He set it down and promptly walked off. I yelled, "HEY!!" That got his attention and he came right back. I pointed out that I didn't order 2 of the 5 things that were on my check. (Sound familiar) He apologized and brought us the correct check which was 1/2 the price of the original check.
We paid the check and took all the copies and left just a napkin in the check holder that said, "Your manager has the check!"
We asked for the manager and were met with Marti... She apologized for our experience and gave us a free (Free anyway) backstage pass, but she loaded it with 76.31 points. Nice, but it meant that we would have to return and spend another 24.69 points to get 100 points which would give us $5.00 off our next meal.
Um, did I miss something? That didn't even so much as pay for my soda!
We accepted the card and came home.
The ONLY reason this location is getting 3 stars is because of the manager Scott. I called him today and he stated that Marti, nor was any manager able to load a card, so he was going to speak with her to find out how she did that. Secondly, Reese had "Overcharged" quite a few people Saturday evening and they had also called to let the manager know about this and third he apologized for our experience.
Watch your check... you may be overcharged! -

Here is the breakdown of my one experience here:
1 star for the friendly server
1 star for ambiance. Rock music, low lighting, cool decor
1/2 star for the manager that tried to save our sad meal
Can't to 2.5 stars so I am rounding up to 3
We ordered a pizza to share - It was called "Crazy Little Thing" and basically it had about 5 different veggies on it. Or at least it should have. When the pizza arrived, it looked very sparse. The ingrediants were thrown on without any care at all. Some slices only had a couple of the veggies on it... some veggies I am not even sure made it onto the pizza. It looked like they had closed their eyes and thrown a bunch of stuff in the air and hoped some of it landed on the pizza. Parts of the crust were burnt and my husband got one bite that was a bunch of spices all burnt and crusted to the bottom.
There was a manager walking around asking the tables how things were. When he got to our table, I said, "It's ok." He proceeded to nod and walk away. 10 minutes later he came back and said he just realized that I had said, "ok" and wanted to know what was wrong. He offered us a dessert on us or he would take off half the price of the pizza.
I totally appreciate a manager who takes the time to check on the customers. I would probably eat there again but I most certainly would not order pizza. -
Review from April F.
The Happy hour is awesome! Great prices on food and drinks! I love their pizzas, wings and Greek salad. No go on the clam chowder, I only had it once, but once is enough. The bar area has TV's that show the games but no sound, and no way for them to turn the sound on so don't ask. The star here are the buckets, it a pretty nice size serving of alcohol, and depending on who makes the drinks, their either really good or just ok. One time I got the margarita bucket and it was carbonated for some reason, no beer in it or anything extra that I ordered, so not sure what happened but I ordered another and no carbonation. Both were good though. The next time I came in I ordered the rum bucket, they both tasted totally different each time but again both were still tasty. Either way, they always have plenty of alcohol in them and that's all I really care about :)
I've been here several times, and will be back several times. I'm a fan :) -

This place is my husband's #1 favorite pizza joint. Once this one opened up at the Landing, our monthly pizza budget doubled... the nice thing about the Rock is their chain of restaurants are pretty consistent from one location to another. I really like their Jump'n Jack Black and Rock Steady Red... we have tried almost every pizza on the menu, and my ONLY complaint is that they don't have goat cheese.
Ambiance is cool, good music and friendly service, cliche decor but trendy nonetheless.
I am not a crust-eater. I usually will eat all the way up the slice til the cheese is gone, then put the crust back on the pizza plate and have a little semi-circle showing which pieces were mine... then the hubby eats what I've left behind. At the Rock, I do tend to eat my crust, which is rare, but a good sign of good dough, not too tough and not too crispy.
We like to grab pizza to go, but for the price of the pizza, you might as well go ahead and get the sit-down service, because paying $45+ for 2 large pizzas seems a bit steep to me...yet we keep showing up and buying more pizza! -

Not good. Soggy crust, greasy pizza. I was expecting much more. The beer is good, so if you want to watch the ball game and have a beer, this is an option. Eat before you go.

I don't know why I've never reviewed this place. It's mehhh, just okay. Nice service though.
I only come here for their buckets or lava lamps. they have such GREAT drinks!!! the only good thing about them, I think.
I came for HH and I got the hot wings, and quesadillas. The hotwings were pretty average, about 3.5/5 and it came w/ bleu cheese, which was gross. the ranch tasted better, and normally I don't like ranch w/ the hot wings. The quesadillas were good, it had bacon and chicken. However, the bacon did make it super fattening. But they were pretty good.
i tried their pepperoni pizza for HH and it was okay. dry and hard. But nothing special about it. Their onion rings were okay too. better than your average, they tasted like they had brown sugar in them or something. But it was good.
Their food is always dry or average here. I just recommend drinks here, that's it.
Good service ,mediocre food, great buckets! -

It's definitely not The Rock's fault that I'm allergic to gluten, but it is their fault that the one thing on the menu I felt comfortable ordering (caesar salad w/chicken) was really pretty gross. Previously frozen chicken so dry it stuck in my throat, institutional dressing with no discernible flavor beyond slighty salty. We were meeting friends and The Rock was their idea, but there's really no way I would ever come back here to eat or otherwise be around food.
I liked that we were seated in the family section, though, because our tiny little is preemptively enjoying her terrible twos and had an awesome time yelling about Elmo and nobody could hear. -

The water was delicious, as was the Chicken Alfredo dish. However, the pizza was pretty greasy. And sogged with it too. They replaced it with a better pizza. But we did notice, after about five min, it sogged up again. The atmosphere was extremely loud. Not the kind of "fun" loud, the kind of loud you need to hide the obnoxious drunk people yelling all around. Only it didn't work. Maybe if I was drunk and didn't care what was going on around me, it wouldn't have been so bad. So the next time I drive 800 plus miles to Renton, I might just order take out from here.

I love The Rock! This is my favorite pizza joint in Washington.
I had some good and bad experiences here. They're slow with taking orders to getting it to the table. This place, although is great for kids. I take my little brothers here all the time and they enjoy it so much every time.
If you're not bringing your kids, definitely take a seat in the bar. I find the service to be a bit faster here. You could save quite a bit of money during happy hour. 3-6 or 9-close
Try their cajun shrimp basket, wings, and pizza! Nomnomnom -
Review from Ashley D.
I'm dropping to one star now. It's for the food. We ordered Rock Wings with our drinks. Then, we waited and waited some more. We asked about them and we were told they were in the oven. Then our pizza apeared burnt and we sent it back. We used to work here the crust is already chewy, burnt pizza is close to impossible to enjoy. Our wings apeared and they just didn't taste right. Once I got closer to the bone I noticed they were undercooked. And fried not baked. Finnaly the pizza came now it was undercooked. At this point I threw in the towel. We talked to the manager and he was nice enough to comp our meal and we tipped our servver and we were on our way. Then my bf got food poisining and I got a stomach ache. I can't say if well ever be back.

I've been to the Renton location 4 times. Three times for happy hour and once for the lunch buffet.
Happy Hour Review:
Prices are decent for well drinks and discounted cocktails. Some "rocktail" drinks are stronger than others but non the less still very tasty. The buckets are always fun to get but I would never pay full price for them. They used to offer a Mai Tai bucket but have since taken it off the menu :(
The food for happy hour is ok. I've had most of the menu items offered for happy hour. ..the personal pies (cheese and pepperoni), the garlic mozz bread, the quesadilla, pulled pork sandwich, wings and it's all your typical bar food. Not amazing but not bad either.
Overall the rock HH is a great place for cheaper eats and drinks compared to the other restaurants in the landing. Will return.
Lunch Buffet Review:
Went for the first time last week and loved it! Lots of different types of pizzas are offered. I must have tried at least 7 different types of pizzas. I wasn't expecting the large variety of choices. Fresh cut fruit, lasagna, zucchini salad and pasta. The pasta was DISGUSTING! Not sure what was going on with that. But the lasagna was tasty.
Food was never cold and fresh from the oven. The restaurant was very busy (as expected, especially since the Rock only offers the buffet on Thursdays & Fridays) but I never had to wait in a line to get my food.
Lunch comes with a salad (caesar or garden) and soft drink for $8.99. I would recommend the garden salad because the caesar was not very good.
Great deal for lunch. Will definitely be coming back! -

People who know me know that I'm kind of a pizza-freak. And, recently I've gone gluten-free...SO when my family decided to go to The Rock for dinner I was a bit concerned. I have eaten here before and thought the pizza was pretty good. The pasta dish I've had here before was also tasty. Much to my surprise they had a gluten-free dough option, so I ordered a cheese pizza on gluten-free dough with pineapple and goat cheese. I was initially very excited to eat my personally sized 9" pizza, but as I bit in the crust reminded me of cornbread. Don't get me wrong, I love some cornbread, but with my pizza? Hmmm. Bums me out a bit, because they put a lot of effort into making their other dishes and pizza delicious but the gluten-free option is lacking. Other than that, the service was quick and friendly and it's a fun place to go with a big group of people. Oh, and I've heard their lunch buffet is pretty killer if you're into carbo-loading!

The Rock is always great but today was especially wonderful. The poor staff was over run by unexpected business for the lunch buffet. Everyone kept a smile on their face but was hustling like I have never seen in any restaurant. Their feet were bouncing and moving as quickly as they could and were so delightful when it wasn't even required. We had to wait a few minutes for a table, which wasn't really a big deal the lunch buffet was ending in 30 minutes and we decided with a 10 minute wait we would still have plenty of time. However, the manager decided to take it a step further. While we, and two other parties were waiting he approached us and informed us they would make sure the buffet was fully stacked with fresh pizza and then even asked what we preferred. Everyone was really friendly and the pizza is always hot and fresh.

Jello shots in a giant fake syringes. Check. Long Island Ice teas served in sand buckets. Check. Garlic cheese bread so delicious you wont want to share the basket. Check.
The Rock is the place you take your in-laws, friends from out of town, or in my case my very hungry boyfriend when you wanna have a good time and eat some furiously delectable food. We ordered the The jello shots. Gulp. Mmmmm! Next was the Rock Island Bucket.... and I have to add, they have 4 different "Bucket" drinks. It was plenty of drink for both of us. We decided on a pizza... and I am really glad we did. We got a half Evil Ways and half Satisfaction. I recommend both. -

Came here for a happy hour dinner and it was what I expected with simple and satisfying bar food. We ordered some wings and a pizza. Both were enough for the two of us and was quite tasty. They do have quite a selection for the happy hour menu and also a pretty good size drink list. Next time I will have to try some of their more exotic drinks. The service was very good and they came by and checked on how we were doing quite a few times.

I like this place. Sure it's dark, and the decor is just messy and strange, but I'm ok with that.
Weird to see people order drinks in buckets though. Meh, to each their own though.
I come here, not for Pizza, but for the burgers and the service.
Although to be fair, the service is unreliable. It's more about who you ave as your server. Good enough to get by, but sometimes really irritating. -

This was my second trip to The Rock and unlike the movie with the same name, this place is not classic. For a bar, cool, and for snacks, groovy, but I think the pizza here is completely overrated. The meat is near flavorless and it doesn't help that the toppings are sprinkled sparingly. You wait about 30 minutes for a pie that is pretty much the best tasting frozen pizza around.
On my 1st trip I had The Founder and all reports yielded that this was not the pizza to form your opinion around. This time it was The Crazy Train. Better than The Founder, but still not up to par. The Asian wings and Onion Rings were great, but once again, the pizza was boo boo.
I've heard tale that the burgers and sandwiches were good, and if I do return, that will be on the menu. However with Red Robin across the street that might be a tough call to make.
I will say short of the long wait for food, the service was friendly and flawless, but I repeat, the pizza is not worth the wait or the price. Anyone hooked on this place hasn't been to or eaten at a real pizzeria. -

Went here with a friend & the food was decent for the price! The decor is pretty cool, more third date than first with all the rock music playing. BUT our waitress Alicia was VERY nice to us. She helped us out with smiles all the way through a hilarious dinner. Definitely recommend.

Review from Brian K.
Food and service are probably 3/5, but the atmosphere is so rockin - that it has to be 4/5. I felt like I was eating at Universal Studios - they took their set design seriously. For example they have a church that is meant to look like a burning church. So the stain glass windows have flames in them, the lights are lined with red, and the seat covers are red. Very nice touches.
We had the brown butter mozz bread - which I thought was too sweet (and I have a sweet palette). They could have made it a little more sublte, but still very nice.
We then had a pizza - half 4-cheese, half blue cheese, spinach, garlic, mozz. We preferred the cheese. Very solid.
Nothing gourmet here, but for what it is - a lot of fun. And that's they key. -

Pizza = 4 stars
Employee named "Sunny" =2 stars
So that is why I am giving 3 stars.
Sunny, when people call your establishment and inquire about bringing a big party in at 7pm (approx. 25 people) and they tell you they understand you don't take reservation AND they are willing to wait and you still basically tell them you don't want that big of a group in at that time well not only do you do a diservice to your customers but you loose money for your business. Trust me, we're big eaters and drinkers. So we went to a different restaurant and spent over $200 there. We most likely would have spent more at your establishment, but well SUNNY you made sure we didn't.
That said I will come in and eat'/drink there again, just not pleased with Sunny's not so sunny attitude. :-) -
Review from Jenn O.
Been here a couple of times.
Both times our servers were very nice and had great attitudes even though the place was packed to the brim and super hectic.
The brown sugar mozz bread was very tasty but we didn't realize it was going to be under cooked pizza dough instead of bread. Sort of sat like a Rock inside my stomach. The Stairway To Heaven pizza was AWESOME after I added some pepper to it.
Also tried their onion rings and pulled pork sandwich during happy hour in the bar. Pretty good. I love how they use "sheet music" to line the baskets and boxes.
I really dig the Wild Thing: Honey Wheat Beer. Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to order a bucket drink.
Husband is a guitar player and totally loved the decor. The classic rock they blast includes a lot of my favorite tunes. The TV over my head was showing "The Big Bang Theory" but without sound or subtitles so I'm not really sure what the point was of having it on since the music is fairly loud. -

I am not a huge fan of pizza because of college life. Kinda over did it.
But, I have to admit, The pizza at the Rock in Renton Landing is pretty damn good! Been here...more than twice and each time, the food was great. Service was quick for a packed restaurant and the manager even came and asked us how the service and food was!
Between The Rock or Red Robin for dinner, I'd come to The Rock every time. -
Review from Alice T.
I like this place. Been here twice and the pizzas are delicious. So delicious that the taste lingers in my mind the following day. MmmmMmmMmmM. Delicate crust, crisped to perfection. They sure know how to produce a good pizza.
Oh, but wait. You MUST/GOTSTA/HASTA try the amazing Root Beer alcohol concoction. It is trouble. Like an alcohol root beer float. I think they call it Dark Angel or something to that effect. It is pretty evil.
Service has been friendly, atmosphere is crazy and chaotic, and it's a nice location right in the middle of the Landing. Good spot to grub if you're catching a movie before or after. -
Review from Howard L.
I enjoy the pizza's here, there service not so much. Unfortunately their "buckets" are pre-mixed and not poured like they used to be so i can throw down 3 buckets now instead of happiness with just one. You can't expect too much from a pizza place. They make great pizza's and that's all that needed.

I wanted to like this place, however after dining here a couple of times, I will not be coming back. The food review: had about five of their pizza, nothing wood fired about them, you would imagine perfect thin, crispy, perfect char, nope, more closer to rising dough frozen pizza, bad rising dough frozen pizza. Soup, salad, yawn, appetizers, on both occasions, were undercook, once brought us frozen mini calzones...A few more caution, wear shoes with good traction, the floor is borderline hazardous, and be careful when exiting the booth table, got gored by metal.

Review from Kelly M.
Years have past and I never went to one of these restaurants and my friend kept telling me to go and try the bucket..
Well, I was in the area (Landing, again) super hungry. I walked over to the thai place, pass. Five Guys burgers, pass. The Rock? Okay sure I feel like pizza today.
I was greeted with warm smiles and promptly seated at a table; the service throughout my meal was excellent actually.
Now I ordered the Lava Lamp as my drink and it was pretty strong but still a nice amount of sweetness. Comes in a plastic lava lamp cup that flashes pretty colors, there's a bonus. My kids' orders came with smiley face fries which were a little... creepy. I know they were meant to look happy but it was a bit disturbing. The fries tasted really good though, not what I had expected.
We got the garlic cheese bread as an appetizer, nice flavors but bread was kind of hard. I order the pizza with shrimp, sausages, green peppers and some other stuff. I cannot remember the name of it sorry. Now, this is why I gave this place 3 stars. The first slice of pizza I had was really good, and that's all I had because I was already full.
About an hour or so after we left, my stomach started feeling really icky. I figured it was the heat and weird combination of food. (I got frozen yogurt after wards) When I got home, I decided to have another slice of pizza for dinner. Again after a bit I started feeling sick. I waved it off as me just being tired.. That's not what my tummy told me for the next 12 hours!
Still... I didn't think it was the pizza. Dumb me goes and eats the pizza the next day for lunch. (Yes, I am on a budget.) Wrong move girly. Felt horrible the rest of the day until the next morning.
So from this experience, I am just going to stay away from the particular pizza. The service was great and the rest of the food was good too so I won't avoid the place altogether, just that darn pizza.
Oh yeah, prices are a tad much but just like any other popular restaurant chain. -

Well, I've been here a couple of times and they were OK. Pizza was decent. However, this last time, I went out with a couple of friends and our food was mediocre at best. Not to mention it took 20 minutes to even get someone asking what drink we wanted. Yeah... it took over an hour (like 1hr20min?) for us to get in and out of there.
Anyway, the fries were good. That's about all I can say. My friend liked his wrap, but then my other friend thought his chicken was incredibly bland. Hot wings were kind of gross to me, the skin was all rubbery.
That's not what compelled me to write this though; the calzone was what I got and it was just awful... it was really soggy and mushy, adjectives I never want to have to use to describe my food! It didn't even taste very good. I can get over texture sometimes if the food tastes good, but it was just bland as well. Very disappointing.
The first two times I came their pizza was all right, but I definitely recommend staying away from their calzones. -

Great place for drinks and pizza after a round of golf after work. The beer is cheap when you go during happy hour (9pm - 12am I think). The pizza is pretty good. If you go with a group of friends I'd recommend just ordering different kinds and sharing because the pizzas are all pretty good, just have to find the one that appeals to your taste.
I've never had any issues with slow service or rude waiters/waitresses so it's a pretty solid place, like a Rock. (Terrible joke). The atmosphere is pretty good late at night. This isn't like a packed bar at night. It's a pretty chill place even late at night. -

Great place for Happy Hour, dinner, lunch, whatever. Atmosphere is fun and great food, knowledgable staff, they make a very good pizza. Definitely recommend this place!

If I was reviewing for the "regular" menu here, I would give it 3 stars. My 4 stars comes from the service and prices during HH.
Boyfriend ordered the seasonal beer which the bartender recommended as being as similar to Hoegaarden as possible. I ordered a beer off their regular drafts, with his recommendation that it was similar to Blue Moon. BARF it was not! I'm sure the beer tastes great. But when my taste buds expect Blue Moon, I expect Blue Moon. Tasting Boyfriend's beer tho, it was delish! I felt super bad asking the bartender, but he replaced my beer with the same one Boyfriend had ordered. Usually I would have just drank the damm thing, I mean really, alcohol is alcohol. But my craving got the better of me. Thank you, bartender for accommodating my bratty-ness that evening. For that, you earned the extra star.
I am a wing fan (like you can't tell with my numerous Wingdome reviews), but have never really liked The Rock's wings..... the bartender explained they are baked vs. fried. That's awesome, so healthy. I hate healthy when it comes to wings! He recommended us ordering the sweet chili wings, and specifying DEEP FRIED only, no baking please. YUM. These came out soooooo good.
We also ordered one of the veggie pizzas on HH and the garlic bread. Two great choices as well. My fave part about the veggie pizza was that rather than putting mini slices of olives, they just throw whole black olives on there. nom nom nom
I thank you, kind bartender, for your amazing service and introducing me to the deep fried fatty potential of The Rock's Sweet Chili Wings. -

went here with family a week ago for lunch and sat in "the church". I had the "Stairway to Heaven" pizza which was decent. I'm not a fan of their crust style - very thin but not an "authentic" thin Italian pizza. Kids enjoyed the atmosphere.

Im basing my review on my experience from last night. I have visited The Rock in Renton twice. My first expereince was definately better.
We ordered the mozerally bread last night. The description on the menu said there was basically pizza bread, garlic and cheese. I was looking forward to some garlic, but there was no garlic detected on this appetizer.
I also ordered the clam chowder. The clam chowder was not good. It was way too rich, and it tasted like it was poured out of a can and then added heavy cream and butter to it. There were less than two clams in the whole bowl and a couple small cubes of potato. I took 3 bites and could not eat the rest. The waiter did not even care to ask me why i did not eat my soup, I paid for it and chalk it up to a bad experience. It took quite a long time to get any refills on drinks as well.
On my first experience, we split a pizza with the rest of my group. The pizza is pretty good. I have had better. The bucket drinks are awesome, so has long as you have a bucket in hand it should be a good night. But the food could use a little more help.
