I should have reviewed this back in August when I went, but better late than never!
I had dinner here with a large group for a rehersal dinner for a wedding. We had a private room with a long table and a great view of the water.
They had a set menu for us to choose from, there was fish, prime rib and a vegetarian pasta. I had the pasta and it was really nice. Or did I have fish back then? Wow, my brain is turning to mush, I can't remember things from August. Anyway, whatever mysterious meal I had I DO remember that I liked it.
The service was great, but I'm not sure what the prices was like, as dinner was generously taken care of by the Groom's Mother. I had a few glasses of wine, they seem to have a nice selection, and I liked both the red and the white that we had.
This isn't the type of place I would come to often. It's not really in my neck of the woods and it's pretty fancy. Well, kind of fancy. Anyway, it was good, I liked it and if you want to have a private dinner with a medium sized group I would give these guys a call. -

This is one of those situations where I am conflicted about reviewing a place that I love.
The River House, you see, has, arguably, the best patio of any pub in the lower mainland. It's right on the marina just to the east of the Tunnel, but far enough away from it that you don't get any of the traffic noise - just a distant view of the poor schmucks who are heading into the city for a bite to eat because they don't know any better.
The food here is great and the staff is always friendly. They show all the Canucks games, too, so if it's hockey season and too cold to sit outside, you can grab a comfy chair by the fire and watch the 'nucks get their ass kicked yet again. I mean, chances are they are going to lose - why shouldn't you be comfy and have a tasty beverage at hand while they do it? -

My wife and I recently retried this restaurant on a Friday night. We ordered 2 appetizers, she had the a glass of the house wine and I had a pint of beer. The calamari was what you would expect in any bar/restaunant. It was a good sized portion and properly cooked but nothing special ($10). The Crab Avicado Dip ($14) was definately poor. Not fresh and not quite cooked long enough as the cheese was just barely melted. The service was poor. The staff were very pleasant and appeared to be quite happy enjoying each others company. The building and location is excellent and very attractive. They were only a quarter full on a Friday evening at about 7pm and it was noicy as the hockey game had finished but they left the sound up high with nothing really on. The bill was $42.76 and with a 15% tip ended at $49.17. I very expensive night for a very poor experience. I should have not left a tip. I would not recommend this restaurant or pub except it is in a really nice building with a really nice view.
