    Best hotel I have stayed in Toronto, the decor and friendly staff won me over. The penthouse suite compared to SoHo, it's not as large but I care about decor/design more.

    I don't know what standard room set up looks like but the PH suite was pretty sweet. It looks like a nicely gold themed, one bedroom condo with a living room, 2 bathrooms and the master bedroom. Room service menu is lots of options. We ordered breakfast. It was light, healthy and fresh. Views not that great, buildings everywhere especially If your on a low floor. Location is good, in the financial district, lots of restaurants to eat from. Tons of cabs available in the lobby or on Wellington St.

    Loved it here.

    New property.  Modern, clean layout that's not really hip, but polite and approachable for those with more traditional tastes.  Great accouterments, like heated floors in the bathrooms, separate water closet, in-the-mirror (thus hidden until turned on) bathroom TV.  Friendly and extremely helpful front desk staff.  Solid location in central Toronto with nice views of Lake Ontario and the CN Tower.

    Too bad their common area Wi-Fi was one the weakest, slowest and most unreliable I've ever experienced.  Shockingly disappointing considering this chain's emphasis on total delight of the customer.  Their room Wi-Fi was better, but not as good as some lower end properties I've stayed at before.  Also their Concierge didn't LISTEN to my request about a restaurant.  Although minor, I asked for inexpensive and all she did was refer me to their in house restaurant which looked delightful, with locally sourced (within 50 miles ) food items but pricy.  Not what I asked for by a mile.  The catering food for my meeting was well below average.

    Very expensive, and you get the frou-frou property name... but honestly, I'd enjoy the Hilton down the street just as well.

    Can't speak to the quality of the restaurants or bars as they were closed when we arrived, but the room - and we were staying in an upper-end room - was boring and ugly. The hallway was a design abomination of rust-coloured carpets and horrible paintings that would be better suited to a dentist's office. The furniture in the room was outdated cookie-cutter tat sitting on a seafoam carpet that recalled either skeezy motel rooms or my grandma's living room. The bathroom had a TV in the mirror, which was, uh... okay?

    Everything was clean and the staff were very friendly, although all the kowtowing hardly seemed to merit a place that looks like this. Absolutely nothing interesting or even remotely sexy, design is formal and dull, and everything seems to have been purchased from a mid-range factory warehouse. Perhaps their restaurant makes up for all of these yawn-worthy oversights but a peek into their bar certainly didn't excite me.

    Overall, if you like airport Marriotts, you'll love this place. It's just a hotel - albeit an expensive one - and is likely well-suited to people on business who need somewhere to sleep and not look at. But if you're young and want to enjoy the entire experience of staying in an upscale hotel, avoid this place. Go for Hotel Le Germain instead.

    I was never a huge fan of the Ritz in other locations such as Vegas or St. Louis but Toronto won me over. How could it be so different? I think that it was the staff. I really liked the concierge, too.

    One of the nicest hotels in Toronto right near everything down town and its walking distance from the club district

    After staying here a second time around I realise that I don't know what I was thinking giving it a 4 star review to start off with. My reasoning back then was that the price prevented me from giving it a full 5 stars straight up. But I now realise that you really do get the luxury and service you pay for. I have yet to find anything amiss with my experiences here.

    Unlike last time, I didn't opt for going down to Deq, but instead spent more time in the room and swimming around with a bit of time spent at the gym. Like last time everything was great from service to the comfort in our room.

    The salt water pool area is considered part of the spa and as a result the atmosphere there is extremely relaxing and you almost feel bad splashing about (almost). It's not a massive pool but large enough to do short laps before submerging yourself in to their hot tub. Very comfy lounge chairs (and a lounge bed too at one end) surround the pool and their changing rooms are extremely spacious with fancy lockers for yourself and a nice big shower.

    The gym is possibly the best I've seen at a hotel in terms of a variety of machines, spacious, TVs on the machines, complimentary headsets (you should not take them home with you) and free apples to go with their cold citrus water filter.

    The Ritz still remains as the place to stay in Toronto (for a high price), here's hoping they up their game even more when they come under pressure from the Trump Tower, Shangri-La and other luxury hotels opening up soon.

    I love the Ritz.

    Everything about it is luxury. It really is the ultimate luxury hotel experience.

    I've had the pleasure of staying at the Ritz twice, thanks to a certain employee discount, and it never disappoints me. Not only is their lounge fabulous, even their bar is amazing - the service is great, AND they serve your cocktails with little finger foods like MAPLE BACON (BACON!!!), as well as a few other more typical munchies.

    If you have a chance to stay here, definitely do it. As some other reviews have mentioned, they have tv hidden inside their bathroom mirror, and the most comfortable beds in the world. Not only that, on the fifth floor they have a brand new (absolutely beautiful) gym! I was so disappointed that I didn't have earbuds to take advantage of the tvs on the cardio machines, but of course, the Ritz Carlton provides them on a silver tray, as well as water bottles and apples. Oh the Ritz. They also have a salt water pool and a hot tub, with a great view of the CN Tower as you swim.

    I can't get enough of the Ritz.

    Stay at the ritz executive suite for 10 days, service from the hospitality was excellent but the food is far away below Ritz Carlton standard. Room service menu is real menopause and food presentation is still at 70'. Executive Club Lounge offer a great service with a limited beverage selection on menu, the foods was poor once again and did make Subway sandwiches 5 star! Other then that all was great just at JW Marriott standard for the hotel and food level only at Courtyard Airport by Marriott. Front of the house staff and housekeeper was friendly even they do remember my pet name and always greet with his name!

    The Ritz Carlton Toronto is truly a five-star hotel experience. Having just opened in February of this year, the furnishings and decor are brand new and the rooms seem to sparkle. On arrival, I was greeted by a doorman in traditional livery who opened the door for me to a stunning and grand lobby. Check-in at the front desk was quick and easy and handled by true professionals who know the meaning of customer service.

    I am not sure I have ever been so impressed by a standard hotel room as I was at this hotel. Even the standard room has a marble entry/foyer with beautiful wood closets and bar. The bathroom is perfect. A standing shower and toilet room on one side and a soaking tub on the other, connected by two marble sinks. It gets better though - the marble floors in the bathroom are heated! And if that doesn't impress you, aim the remote at the bathroom mirror and a TV appears within the mirror!

    The bedding, of course, was heavenly. Every light in the room, from the desk lamp to the ceiling entry lights, were controlled by dimming switches, allowing you to create your own ambiance. My room on the tenth floor had an awesome view of the lake, the CN Tower and the Convention Center. My final night I spent in a patio room on the sixth floor - while it did not have a great view, it had a very spacious balcony/patio to enjoy.

    On the fifth floor is the Ritz spa and pool - the pool is quite nice; i did not use the spa. Also on this floor is the hotel's 24 hour gym, by far the best hotel gym I have ever used. Freeweights, weight machines, cardio - it has everything you need, so if you are a fitness freak like me, this is one hotel you WON'T need to find a nearby gym and pay for day passes.

    I spent three wonderful nights at this hotel - and whenever I return to Toronto, there is nowhere else I'd stay. The Ritz Carlton Toronto is a magnificent hotel that I highly recommend.

    Ritz Carlton is obviously synonymous with luxury, and it does not disappoint. Luckily, a close friend is a manager at the Ritz, so my friends and I got a tour of the facilities. The rooms are spectacular. So comfortable and luxurious with bright bathrooms and all of the special touches that makes this a five star experience. The two suites we visited had unbelievable tower views. There is a yoga studio with a full schedule of classes, and a gym with top of the line equipment.

    The best part of the evening was lounging on the patio at DEQ. It is incredible. The seating is super comfortable and the space very well designed. What really impressed me was the food. The menu changes frequently, but it is high end, more casual, intelligent and seasonally inspired financial district fare. (Think Bymark) However, it was far better than any of the other lounges I have been to in Toronto. We had a Flat bread with Morales and Chevre noir, with shaved asparagus and cauliflower purée that was the star of the evening for me.  My girlfriends were losing it over the poutine which had a hint of apple jus. The onion rings were fantastic, and we spit a pana cotta for dessert. All memorable.

    Large enough wine selection, at fairly reasonable prices considering the environment. We had a bottle of Malbac that was good, fairly priced and served in gorgeous glassware. There is a full Charcuterie station if that is your thing, complete with made-in-house preserves.

    Fantastic service. My evening at DEQ deserves 5 stars.

    DEQ in the back of the Ritz is a very beautiful patio. Great comfy seats, fireplace, bar with outdoor pizza oven. Private, and sophisticated. The food is delicious, and they make a proper rum & coke.
    We took a tour of the Ritz Carlton rooms, and even the upscale corner room was, well...just boring. The only cool thing about the rooms were the ability to look at the tele right in the bathroom mirror, so you could get stock updates while you brushed your teeth. We saw the spa with several anxious to serve attendants, and many people simply ready to serve you. Hmmm, too many actually. Swimming pool area was also not in a good location. Overall, the hotel looks and feels very business executive like, and geared towards the male factor.
    We'll be back to eat at Toca, the Ritz other premiere restaurant and then write a review.

    Figuring we were both already dolled up, my girlfriend and I went for a post-event drink last night. The bar up front seemed a bit exposed to the lobby but the bar in back was pleasantly secluded and looked onto the expansive and lush patio. The patio being full, we took a seat at the bar while we waiting for a table outside to open up. Our bartender was a guy named Chris who was absolutely amazing. Funny, friendly and professional he gave us a great wine suggestion (a bottle of great chardonnay, the name of which I cannot remember) and food suggestions, skip the poutine which was too heavy, go with the pleasant smoked salmon salad, light and flavorful.

    Even though the bar was fairly empty I was still without a stool, giving the lone spare to my GF (chivalrous as ever). Also, the decor didn't strike me as particularly nice - not unpleasant, but not the kind of seating you would expect for a world-class hotel. We had our glass and waiting. We saw two seats open up but the hostess never came to get us. Eventually we had to ask Chris to help us out, which he dutifully did. By the time we were out, the nicer seats had filled up again, but our chairs by the fireplace were still great. As mentioned, the patio was beautiful, and even though it's in the city center it feels secluded and peaceful, albeit with a magnificent view of the CN Tower.

    All in all it was a great evening, but I couldn't shake the feeling that after dropping about $100 for wine and a split dish, the whole thing could have been a bit more polished. A great bartender can only take you so far, and the rest of the staff didn't seem to live up to the Ritz name.

    Attended day long conference in ball room with pre-function space for breakfast, lunch & after event reception.

    * for top service from all staff
    * for food
    * for ballroom
    * for clean washroom - constantly cleaned.
    * for event facility

    Definitely have customer service down from the point you enter the premise.  Buffet breakfast & lunch with Salmon.  Definitely need to cut back on the salt.  First time ever had to pass over soup because of salt content.
