I would really place Ridpath at 2.5 stars, but I feel it's a lil nicer to round up vs rounding down.....

    That being said.....

The Ridpath is a very an old hotel, I'm not sure if it's one of Spokane's first, but it very well could be. I've never heard of Ridpath before, so I am not sure if this is the only Ridpath. I think the building is impressive. I like the Ridpath sign, that sits on top of roof. I like the lobby. The location is close by to the mall, restaurants and pubs...

I think the rooms are very small. The bathrooms, need to be updated. Also, the last time, I was there the front desk staff was lax. I did not receive any wake up calls. I always use a back up, but it's frustrating to not get the wake up calls form the hotel desk.

The Ridpath. . . A historic Spokane hotel. A city landmark. Built in 1904. Extensive renovations...throughout... the lobby.

We checked in after visiting with our friends, because we knew that we wouldn't leave if we checked in first.
So we check in around 1230 - 1 am. We're dead tired and we are ready to get into bed. We find out that a: parking at the hotel, though reserved for guests only - is both full of hotel-clubgoers (yeah, we had to check in over the bass of the club in the lobby) and costs $15. Fifteen dollars!! WTF?! but Here's the kicker... B: the elevators are out. broken. Sucks for you, your room is on the 7th floor and we're not offering to help you carry up your bags. Nope. No compensation by lowering the rate of your room...nothing. It was just shitty planning on their part. WHO lets the elevators go un-repaired for TWO MONTHS in a hotel that has 15 floors. WHO?!

So, as if that isn't bad enough, housekeeping comes pounding on the door at seven in the morning. Check out isn't until 11am, so I have no idea why they need to come a'knockin' at 7am. Three more times, they knock before I finally ask what they need. The crackhead-lookin' housekeeper decides to cop a 'tude with me and, with hands on hips, asks "Do you need your room cleaned today or NOT?" I said "NO. We just checked in at about 1am, we're pretty exhausted and it didn't help at 7, being woken up with you trying to open our door FOUR TIMES, we're here for another day, so don't bother us again, Thanks." I slammed the door in her face because I was super tired.

A few things - believe the reviews on assorted travel websites. They're totally accurate. The actual business site is sparse and misleading. There are even some candid photos of stained beds and other gross stuff on http://tripadvisor.com

I stayed here in October 2007:
The rooms are old, but clean. The hotel overall was nice for the price but the front desk staff was horrible. I will never stay at this hotel again.
I tried to check in before my husband who was part of the wedding party that we were in town for because he was off getting pictures taken. Because the credit card, which I had in my hand to check in with, was in his name and he wasn't there yet, the huge beast running the front counter basically accused me of lying about it being my reservation. She said that my husband could possibly be having an affair which I found out about and was there to trash the room! Hello? Are you F&*$ing kidding me? Oh but here's the best part - I was so taken aback that I asked to speak with the manager. Guess who? The beast was it. When my husband got there he let her have it quite eloquently actually. I would have rather lowered myself to physical violence but managed to keep it together.
Oh and there is a nightclub on the first floor. Forget about any sort of relaxing evening you might have wanted to have. You have to push your way through drunken frat boys just to get to the lobby.
