Never have I experienced a venue successfully pull of a consistent theme. As most know, a raw space usually denotes a space capable of being turned into whatever the client is envisioning. Whether it's an elegant gala or casual cook-off, a raw space must remain a blank canvas for the next person to 'paint' on.
Well, Quixotic World is able to not only offer a open and industrial space in Deep Ellum, but somehow weave a mystical theme into the decor as well. Walking into the space you notice the Harlequin, dark red hues and black beams exposing the skeletal structure of the space, but it is not overbearing. I wouldn't think this space is limited to parties with a burlesque or cirque theme as the subtleties of a Quixotic world are there in the screening of the animated version of Yellow Submarine projecting on the wall or the host (manager) of the space dressed like a cracked out Mad Hatter - it's all in good fun.
Though, I wouldn't personally use the space for my wedding reception, I can some people finding it fun and refreshing for that occasion. I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday party, anniversary, prom, networking event...anything really. There is a large bar that lines the East wall and a full service stage that can accommodate any stage set-up, too! -

this was my second visit to quixotic for the vinyl thoughts 2 show. just like before, i really enjoyed. there was plenty of room to move around even with how crowded the show got! i also appreciate the fact that the owners are there.. not only to make sure everything goes right but to enjoy the event as well. great spot, i'd love to attend a different event here sometime!

This is a one of a kind type of place.
It is a venue in which the owner, Eric Sacks, will be available to meet your party needs....
I personally rented this space for an evening and my only complaint is that we could only officially book the space till 11pm. Though Eric has assured me that he plans to move to a new space where his times are a little more flexible.
I would describe this place as an eccentric loft space that is combination of Alice in Wonderland and old world gypsy carnival.

I just wanted to add that Jen was also wonderful! She got drinks from the bar for me while I was doing last minute stuff prior to the wedding. Clearly, the bride was in need!! :-D (hey, I was nervous and excited) At any rate, everyone that works with Eric is as much of a joy as he is. If you are considering this place, stop thinking about it and do it. Amazing and unique... nothing compares. And please do read my original review, lots of useful info... not just saying that cause' it's my review ;-)
