Yelp has led me to some amazing discoveries. This is another one of those.
Brunch was required and this was close to our ultimate destination. Bennys were desired, but what we found was even better. Great location, polite and prompt service. Re-bookmarking this to remind myself to return - for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Soon!!!
MMMM hash!

We have been coming here for about a year now and decided to come for dinner tonight since they had extended their Dine Out menu. I usually get (and do highly recommend) the Bison burger and the daily soup. It won't matter which flavour of soup because they're all fantabulous!
Ok so tonight I ordered from the Dine Out menu. "Westcoast salad" to start and for my main I got the "Point Wellington". Both were awesome and prepared with mad skillz. For dessert I had a choice between Creme Brule or "Mom's" home made chocolate cake. I chose the chocolate cake and was blown away. Wicked wicked stuff man!
Service is always good here! Everyone is friendly and efficient. Food is always fresh and consistent. Here's the link to their site:

This is my favourite restaurant! I have been coming here for 2 years now and have tried almost everything on the menu. My absolute favorite appy here is the chorizo sliders. It's not the typical slider that's in a burger format; the slightly spicy chorizo sausage is placed a top a crispy crostini. Topping the sausage is goat cheese and a delicious balsamic reduction. The flavours come together perfectly and I'm salivating just thinking about it.
For lunch, I love the oyster burger with soup. The oysters are fresh and the aioli is the perfect dressing. The Point also has different soups and I have always been more than satisfied with their soup creativity! The BEST place for soups.
For dinner, my favourite dish is the lobster ravioli. Creamy, tender, and flavourful. The sauce is the perfect accompaniment to this ravioli. I have tried lobster raviolis at numerous restaurants and The Point always comes out on top.
Now my favourite part of a meal... Dessert! I have tried it all and there's something here for everyone. If I want chocolate, I go with the chocolate cake. (this recipe was actually created by the owners mother!) It is a rich, decadent cake that is not dense. Mmmm. My personal favourite is creme brulee, which The Point has perfected. It is my go-to place for creme brulee.
New to the restaurant is an all you can eat brunch. Absolutely worth it! You can try a little bit of everything: pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict, and more! Their hollandiase sauce is slightly tangy and rich; exactly what it's supposed to be. The brunch is also very family friendly as I brought an 8 year old there and she loved the food.
I have thrown parties here and have also had many large group dinners at The Point. I would recommend it to everyone! -

The Point has a nice selection of options from soups, salads, sandwiches/burgers, pastas and some fish. It's just outside Steveston Village and Garry Point Park, so it's a nice place to have an inexpensive dinner if you're in the area.
The night we were there, they ran the $15 special that Brian S. is talking about - it's a great deal for the soup/salad or dessert plus a choice of 3 mains that included salmon, a pasta dish, and something else. We were more in burger moods so hubby and I shared the chorizo appetizer and had oyster burgers and bison burgers. Food was A-OK.
Service could be improved... I guess it's a pretty quiet resto so they had one server for the whole restaurant and drinks sat empty for long periods of time.
It's a good value but there are better options in the area. -

This restaurant is situated near Garry Point Park in the ex-location of La Pergola, the best Italian restaurant in Richmond-ever. 4 of us ate there on a Saturday night and by 8PM were the only table left. The food was reasonably good especially considering they had $15 specials including a soup or salad or dessert. The disappointment was that they had no fresh crab left.
Everyone was reasonably satisfied with their dinners, and the salmon was cooked perfectly and the lobster ravioli very tasty although a smaller portion than the others which were adequate. The only dissenter was the pork eater. Service was good-as it should be when you are the only table. They were missing a couple of the wines we wanted but their replacements were satisfactory.
Overall, an OK place that runs special dinners from time to time that are apparently excellent value, so be sure to check out their website to see what they're up to. -

I'm trying really hard to be nice about this, but the fact is we actually felt a little grossed out after lunch at The Point. We weren't too worried about being the only customers in the restaurant, because it was a very late lunch, but the sketchy decor should have been a warning sign.
My husband and I were both in the mood for lobster ravioli. Lesson learned; the next time we try out a new restaurant, we'll be sure to order different entrees so all our eggs aren't in one basket, as they say. There's a difference between al dente pasta and undercooked. Our ravioli was too firm, really salty, and fishy. The portion size was fine, but the too-oily, tasteless, barely warm liquid seemed like straight cream, not sauce.
We have been slowly working our way through all the restaurants in Steveston and looked forward to visiting The Point since we moved here two years ago, but with all the great food in town, we won't give them another chance. -

My sister, brother in law and I went to the Point for their all you can eat buffet brunch. It was amazing. The food wasn't laid out to languish under heat lamps; instead, the very lovely waitress (I can't remember her name) came out to take our order. She also, very kindly, set everything out on individual plates so it was easier for us.
The Eggs Benedict was amazing & had a delicious hollandaise that was perfect for dipping hashbrowns. The bacon was crispy, the pancakes were fluffy, just the perfect way to start a morning.
We will DEFINITELY be back.
