Ideally located near the Wharf district, I was looking for a place to watch the ballgame in the midst of hockey playoffs.  The bartender was happy to accommodate and put the ballgame up on one of the nine 50" plasma screens.

Found the locals to be approachable and friendly, as were all the staff.  Props to Willis the world-traveller/bartender.

Food was fresh and imaginative- had a salmon, avocado BLT on ciabata bun that was outstanding.  Soups homemade.

Many different and interesting beers on tap.  As sports bars go, Podium was outstanding.

Great local sports bar with tons of TVs and a lot of local brews on tap.  Bartender was friendly and engaging . . . odd that it was not very busy on a Saturday early afternoon.

Didn't have any food, so can't comment on that.  We visited Garrick's Head, Irish Times, Bard and Banker, and Podium.  This was my favorite.

The Podium is a Sports Bar.

They hire attractive young girls to work as waitresses and walk around offering beer specials, which are typically related to whatever major sporting events are taking place currently.

They have lots of televisions showing a variety of different sporting events pointed in different directions so that wherever one sits, they get a good view of one of the screens.

Their menu includes: Chicken Wings, Nachos, Burgers, Pizza, Beef Dip, and other items which I can't remember, but also which wouldn't surprise you.

There is nothing special about this place, but sometimes it's exactly what you want.

The podium is sister pub to the gorge pointe pub, so I had a good feeling about experiencing a generally overall enjoyable time out. The podium is now my go-to place for any big UFC night (I'm a long time MMA fan)

The place is well run, all the staff are generally hustling and keeping on top of everything quite well. I've always been impressed with the service. The food is above average pub food (the menu items themselves are mostly typical pub fare, but it's made quite well on any night I've  visited). There's nothing amazing about the podium, but it's a great place to go out with a group and watch the game, have some wings (try the blue moon wings) and beer and just kick back with friends. It's almost impossible to end up with a seat that doesn't have a good view of a quality big screen tv.

The podium gets 4 stars from me as I've always had a great night when we go out for sporting events there. The staff are competent and quick. The food always arrives hot and without huge delay, and prices are within the expected range. I'm giving this rating just based off the level of enjoyment I've had with my whole night every time I've been. If you go in on a quiet night and just rate the food compared to finer dining, well that's kinda silly since it's a sports pub, so enjoy it for what it is. (oh, by the way, it seems that it's actually a licensed restaurant not a pub, as I've seen a kid or two in there on occasion).

Big space, small staff.  Good drinks and decent prices.  Only one waitress and one bartender.  They did a good job, but service started to slow as the crowd built up.  Lots of hockey on TV (with many screens to enjoy it on).  Most everyone seemed to have a good time.  Nothing out of the ballpark, but certainly a good place to hang out and watch the local game.

Free Wi-Fi for customers.  Some people had trouble connecting to their network, but most were able to.  Of those who connected, very fast internet.
