After looking all over Vancouver, Seattle, Bellingham, Whiterock--you name it--I reluctantly returned here on the Sunday before Hallowe'en. But just as I suspected, this was the best time to shop, too!
I drove all over only to realize that the location had changed, so be careful with that one.
Sure enough, they were the cleanest store that I'd experienced, and the staff was extremely helpful. But perhaps that was because they saw me open a package that could easily be put back together. (I know; I'm terrible, but I really needed to know and I did not destroy the item or packaging, after all).
It only loses one star, because seriously, everything is at least 20% more in price than the other places selling Hallowe'en goods, and for cheap stuff that you wear but one day a year, that's a little bit too scary for my liking!
Bonus points for the abundance of parking and the scary display outside, too!
***A funny note***--I had to pull over to let screaming fire trucks pass me on the way over; then the same fire truck pulled up to buy costumes just as I was leaving.
I guess even they left their Hallowe'en shopping until the end, but at least they could clear the streets getting there! :) No fair! -

If you are planning a theme party, you have found your one-stop shopping destination. For Halloween - it's Ace if you've got money...and actually, Ace if you don't since they have enough random crap to throw together a costume on the fly as well.
The costumes are extensive - you will inevitably find something along the lines of what you are looking for here. The downside - they ain't cheap, nor is the material usually the best. I am not sure about rentals, but I hear they do them so that could be something to look into.
I'm hitting them up for Halloween (again) this year, but I won't be waiting 'til the last minute like last year. This place gets crazy! -

Props for having the wedding supplies I needed, to decorate a car. Only downside was the drive to downtown from where I was staying.
The Party Bazaar is equivalent to a Party City back in the states. You'll find your average over priced party decorations here as well as a wide selection of costume props like masks, wigs, etc.
When I mention overpriced items, we're talking at least double the price on certain items. I found tulle (netting for wedding decoration) for triple the price I paid at Michael's Arts & Crafts. Though I should mention that they have more items here than Michael's.
If cost isn't a factor and convenience is, The Party Bazaar is your go to party store.
Free parking! Definitely a plus for the downtown area! -

You're helpful, you're reliable. But you're also expensive and aloof. With all of your funny and fun items, you'd think you'd ham it up a bit more. But, beggars can't be choosers, and until my many tickle trunks are overflowing and I no longer need any particular themed item, Party Bazaar will win my business.
Now where did I put that life size cut out of Marilyn Monroe, my pimp stick and my captain's hat?Listed in: If Life Were a Movie, Get Your Vancouver Events On!

I came here because I thought for sure any place called the Party Bazaar would have what I was looking for. But surprisingly they didn't, and all I was looking for was a straight, green wig. I didn't think it would be that difficult to find, but I was wrong.
That being said, they had pretty much everything else you could possibly imagine in the way of costumes and accessories. I almost walked out of the store with a new set of Stormtrooper armour, but I'm pretty sure that would have not gone over well with my girlfriend.
Definitely a place to check out if you're in need of a new costume... just as long as you don't need a green wig to go with it. -

Everything you need for your party, you will find here. From wigs to coloured cups and pinatas, all the way to coat check tickets, costume rentals and helium balloons. Prices range depending on what you are looking for, I find some of the costumes that you can buy a bit overpriced, and made of cheap materials.
We have rented their bunny costumes for a party, it was my birthday actually. Every year we have a big party called the Pink N Drink, and two of my friends rented the pink bunny costumes since you have to wear pink to the party (I think it was $80 each for the costumes.) We have also rented on of their helium tanks which will fill 100 balloons for $100, plus the cost of balloons, which was about $35. There is also a deposit that must be left on the tank which is about $500 or so, so if you have a credit card, it should be no problem.
No matter the occasion, Party Bazaar will probably have a solution for your decorating needs. Whether its a stagette, mardi gras, graduation, or birthday, you should definitely check out this place for supplies to liven up the party.Listed in: Tips from the Halloween Queen, My haunts

I think this is as good as it gets in Vancouver. It's a massive store that has all sorts of stuff for all sorts of party needs. Decorations, costumes, invitations, you name it.
For Halloween, they have almost every costume you can imagine, sexy and not-so-sexy! And the prices are less than at other places.
I also came here for bachelorette party accessories and they have a lot of dirty party favours.... and dress up clothes... Well they have not so dirty things too. This place is for anyone, really.
I can't think of another place that is like Party Bazaar. -

Who likes to rock the party? Party Bazaar likes to rock the party. This store is the party supply and holiday decor destination for Vancouver for a reason: they have everything from costumes to lights to favours to disco balls and fog machines. It's pretty well organized, too, with the relevant holiday stuff out front (right now, Christmas and New Years), regular party stuff and balloons off to one side, and costumes and makeup continuously available. For some of the more unusual items, like the the disco ball kit I happened to be in the market for, you need to ask the staff, and they're more than happy to help.
If you are looking for something specific, I would recommend checking the very comprehensive catalogue on their website so you know exactly what to ask for.
Parking is currently a pain in the butt with this location, though, with all the construction in the area. I would certainly recommend going on a weekday, if you can, especially as it gets closer to Christmas. This place is only going to get busier, and their now fabulous supplies of lights and everything you ever dreamed could be made of tinsel are only going to get smaller. -

I wanted to throw a Mardi Gras party. I wanted it to be over the top. I wanted to set the mood for a wild night of escape ... at my little Vancouver apartment. I obviously needed some assistance to make this a reality.
The party bazaar was there for me! I thought Mardi Gras would not be a popular enough event to merit a lot of selection -- but I found loads of stuff at Party Bazaar and decorated my flat like a tacky New Orleans pub and bought loads of masks and beads for me and my guests.
It was a riot. Thank you Party Bazaar! -

This place is insane. It feels almost like a clown's den as opposed to a full on retail outlet. As the website states, The Party Bazaar is an experience. Maybe celebratory chaos is a better way of describing it? Wigs, makeup, swords, moustaches, masks, capes, fake eyes and skeletons... everything you could possibly need for Halloween (or, you know, a standard Wednesday night) is here.
They've been around for over thirty years so they definitely know how to do Halloween correctly. It's like an explosion of colour in there. I can't think of any other place in Vancouver where the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the Grim Reaper can co-exist so peacefully. Honestly, they've thought of it all. Hanukkah, Chinese New Year, St. Patrick's Day....
Also stocked are things that any and every party should always have: confetti, streamers, balloons (and helium cylinders!), napkins, carnival games, wedding-related equipment.... The list goes on. For corporate clients, they also provide custom imprinting for invitations, napkins, buttons, ribbons and balloons.
Visit with patience. When I went there were a lot of over-excited children clearly jazzed on candy from another store (as the other Yelper mentioned, candy is the one thing they don't sell).
FYI hours are often subject to change depending on the season and day so visit the website or call ahead to confirm opening times. -

I personally have always been frustrated when looking for costumes at Party Bazaar. Maybe I'm too much of a DIY person or too much of a cheapskate but to me all the costume stuff here seems too put together or too expensive to even consider. I tend to end up just frustrated and heading to Dressew to fulfill my cheap cheap costume needs.
That said , if you need something ridiculous, this is the place to go. I've gone here for inflatable palm trees and confetti and weird masquerade masks. Whenever there's a celebration or occasion that calls for something strange which I'm not certain where to purchase it, I'm always pretty sure I can get it at the Party Bazaar. If you want to throw something themed strangely or really unique there's no question you should head here to get those little things that make parties wacky like streamers or oddly shaped punch bowls.
Just...maybe get your costumes somewhere else. -

Did I mention I am a Halloween freak? I have too much stuff already.. my barn is crowded with with 10 big containers of Halloween stuff, a full sized coffin and a medical skeleton (thanks little brother, that was a great birthday gift) not to mention a number of robotic crazy stuff.
I haunt eBay all year for that one great new scary thing for our annual mega-bash, so I know my prices....
I do an annual pilgrimage to Party Bazaar to pick up a few little new things. Their prices are really high on most items, but if I haven't planned ahead and already got that must have item, I suck it up and pay.
I needed scar tissue, and incisor blood marks last year, they had them, and they were absolutely fab.
The costumes they carry in their retail area are widely available on line - exactly the same model numbers, half the price.
I do love to poke around the place as it gets me in the mood for the high season.
