Review from Evilyn T.
What happens at the Oasis, stays at the Oasis. Welcome to Fag Fridays, the place where all the twinks frolicked to when the Odyssey shut its doors. There's no cover, a $3 charge for the coat check, and doubles are only like $8.50. Score! There is plenty of sexy eye candy, including some beefcakes that dance topless. It gets super hot and sweaty on the dance floor, so you suddenly find yourself grinding on some men who are dressed better than you, and the only thing stopping you from sticking your tongue down their throat is the fear of harsh rejection slapping you in the face like a fishbonk. Anyways....
The men's room is cleaner than any ladies bathroom in a club I have been in, and the hand soap even smells better! However I felt like I had stepped into the Twilight Zone since the toilet seat was up, and when I pulled it down it was clean. Obviously these seats were the only thing in the bar that hadn't seen any ass in a while. After I finished I was dumbfounded, and I politely put the seat back up, which seemed so backwards but respectful ... usually aren't us ladies always trying to remind the men to put the seat down?
Sure, I got a few stink eyes, from some of the fags who don't like wounds that never heal, but they may have just been confused as to whether or not I was packing a penis beneath my jeans and comfortable shoes. I never said I didn't look like a drag queen, or have the attitude to go with it. If you're looking for a place that's gonna play five Rhianna songs in the span of three hours, this is the place you wanna be. Oasis, we are gonna become good friends.Listed in: Best Pubs/Clubs, Beers, Steers and Queers

I went on Karaoke Tuesday and ordered the "European Thin Crust" pizza, which wasn't a pizza at all. It was laid on a paper-thin "crust" with veggie toppings, all for a whopping $13. or something... What a ridiculous price, and food item. It was basically a 'pizza roll' cause you could obviously not eat it flat.
Oasis obviously doesn't care about value.
You made one mistake and I'm not coming back again, whether or not my friends still like Oasis!

We usually go here on Friday nights and this weekend was no different. Good music and friendly, adorable staff. I have never eaten the food but the kitchen is always closed when I arrive. I'll stick to the dancing I guess. Saturday nights are sometimes pretty solid too.
No cover on the weekends but sometimes they try to charge.

The only things saving this from being 1 star are its gorgeous patio and our very smiley server who held it together despite being completely bombarded by customers needing drinks.
It was Pride and you're a gay bar on the Davie strip - why on earth wouldn't management have staffed up?!
We got there early and secured a big comfy booth with window views of the Davie Street mayhem. There was no table service at that point unless you were on the patio. As soon as the place started getting busy a server came on the floor. Then the place got PACKED! This poor girl was working her butt off but there was no way she could keep up. She kept smiling though so hats off to her. Some of our group got hungry and were told the kitchen was completely backlogged and we were welcome to bring food up from elsewhere. OK but really? What business would rather sacrifice sales than staff properly?? It's not like the Pride Parade is a surprise!!
I didn't hit the bathrooms but I heard they were a mess and already out of toilet paper. Considering it was still early I can't even imagine what they were like by the end of the night. Gross!!!
Anyway, I might go back as I do like their patio but my expectations will be low if I know it's going to be busy.Listed in: Davie Street from West to East…, Low expectations

Sticky floors and screaming fans go together like shots in beer. Oasis - you're awesome when everywhere else is jam packed and all I want to do is watch the game. Lots of TV's, Granville island beers on tap (feel free to drink freely from your very own pitcher), and the smell of the deep fryer wafting in from the patio. And the bubbles that blow out toward Davie St - poptastic.

The waitress was super friendly. The bartender was nice too. The dance floor has fog and lasers which in a way make it look kinda cheap. Conversation on the patio involved comments about what Denny's is making (or burning) now, and asking some buff old guy to stop smoking (since I hate smoke, and since it was against the law I thought it was appropriate). You can smell Denny's exhaust vent from the covered heated patio, which includes mainly the smell of grease, burnt hash browns and bacon. Not exactly the olfactory ambiance I was looking for. It was dead too. Apparently they get crazy on Fridays but I didn't see that when I went (on a Friday). There was no cover on Friday. Not a must-go, but not an "avoid" either.
