My friend and I were totally ignored even though we were the only two people in there (see other reviews) but the interior and its contents are so gd charming and adorable and amazing, I didn't care. Of the gifty stores in that area, I heart this one the most. If you have a girl to buy for, run here quickly.

I was out and about today running in and out of stores along south Granville and I came across this one. From the outside it looks like a nifty little shop with a modern Parisian aesthetic, with funky ceramic birds, cake stands, Louise armchairs in toile, and Eiffel towers in every possible size shape and colour. Upon entering the store I realized quickly that the store was definitely not my style and found it quite difficult to navigate. Who knew I was going to have to hurdle one of the said Eiffel towers, and dodge falling tea cups to get to the back half of the store...Fanny Blankers-Koen I ain't. After digging for a few minute I did find some interesting things that both myself and my shopping mates found had potential, but after being tossed aside b/c the shop keep were to busy watching cell fones pop popcorn on youtube we did not buy anything and went on about our day.

The storefront is small but brims with so much subtle beauty. The New Eclectic is as the name implies. It stocks charmingly quirky odds and ends to make your house a home. Everything is elegantly weird and wonderfully unique, from the champagne glasses to wrought iron wine bottle holders to the picture frames. The atmosphere is relaxed and the people very friendly.

I was so happy to stumble into this little store; it's fresh and fun and unlike many of the larger, more conservative home decor stores in South Granville. The New Eclectic is what it sounds like: a playful place to find whimsical items like pretty/funky lamps, french-made kitchen ware, stationery, candle holders and many other tasteful items for your home. This is a local store run by a mother-son team, and it does feel a lot like stepping into the home of someone with very good taste.
