I am a big fan of The Mustard Seed and what they do. I have spent time volunteering here as well I have known others who have done the same.
The people at The Mustard Seed really do have great hearts. They believe in what they do and what they do is help people.
They provide food shelter and all kinds of help to the less fortunate and they do it all with smiles on their faces and a song in their hearts.
If you get a chance, check out some of the stories of the lives that have been changed by The Mustard Seed and I highly recommend getting involved with them. What a great organization!

The Mustard Seed is a testament to Calgary's volunteerism and goodwill. It has been around for a long time, helping Calgary's homeless population as best they can. It is a religious organization, but despite that fact most of the people I know have helped them out in one capacity or another. They offer meals, clothing, shelter and affordable housing to people in need, and as we all know it is needed.
They have a lot more services than the ones I just listed, such as counselling and mentoring and day programs. The focus on helping people is so important to this organization and they do so much for the community at large. For its size it is surprisingly well run, and it is always a pleasure to work with them.
I highly recommend volunteering with them in any capacity.
