I was staying at the Hotel Grand Pacific again and was offered to be taken here on someone else's tab so who am I to say no?
Service is excellent - the Mark is separate from the main hotel restaurant and has a higher staff to diner ratio. Small but good menu with a decent wine list.
Great amuse bouche and bread selection to start, just a bit warm with some nice butter. The food itself was good but nothing memorable. My scallops starter was okay and my sablefish main with risotto was oversalted and too saucy.
Excellent dessert selection and I loved the gelatos. The bill came with some small chocolates and sweets from Thomas Haas - a nice way to end the meal.
It's a solid restaurant and prices are fine for this level ($15 starters, $35 mains, $10 desserts), but it doesn't make the 5 star mark for me.
