Ordered the charcuterie plate. It was very good and plated beautifully.
The margarita I ordered wasn't the worst, and yet not the best - just okay.
My sweetheart ordered the Whistler Brewing Whiskey Jack beer and found it to be very good.
The wait staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was very enjoyable.
We will be back! -

If you have not experienced the mallard lounge with its roaring fire place, piano player and fine cocktails in the winter you have not lived. Always top service, amazing ambiance and top notch drinks.

The waitress was just great but nachos ($50+ bill with 1 ice tea ea & tip) was just awful. burned nachos, no olives, no jalapeño, just burned chips, cheese & chicken. We left without eating.
it's gone downhill Since we used to stay there annually. -

I paid $15 for a Rob Roy here and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Sumptuously decorated, the Mallard oozes sophistication. When my friend and I went we were the youngest people there by at least twenty years. I great break from the usual Whistler scene.
The Rob Roy Perfects we had are the standard I hold all subsequent Rob Roys to. After talking with the bartender, we learned that he and most of the people who work there have lived in Whistler for over five years and have bar tended much longer.
This is not for the budget traveler - but that should be evident from its location inside the Chateau Fairmont - but for those who have money to throw around, I can think of no better place to throw it.Listed in: Heating Up Whistler

Sure, the Mallard Lounge is a gorgeous bar located in the equally as gorgeous Fairmont Resort Whistler, but the prices are through the roof! I sat down to have a drink with my friend, and we promptly stood back up again and left. The cheapest drink was $15!! And there was nothing on the menu worth that price. The $15 drink was a pear cosmopolitan. Something I could make at home for about a buck!
I'm sure this bar is great for people who have cash to burn, but that's not me and these types of prices make me angry (if you couldn't already tell). I have heard that the drinks here are very good, but I have better things to spend my hard earned cash on.
Only come here if you're prepared to spend BIG on minimal booze. -

It's an upscale lounge in a nice hotel. I can't call it good value, but it does have a nice atmosphere. I come here maybe three times a year and I never have more than one drink per visit. That's about all I can afford!
The cheapest glass of wine is $16, beer is $9 and bottled water is $6. The prices ward off the riff-raff, so if you want to get away from the kids - this is the place to be!
There is also a nice outdoor fireplace - a good change from the propane heated patios. -

This was my first stop upon arriving at my over-hyped accommodations at the Chateau Fairmont. I needed a place from which to pre-ski telecommute, so this fireside lounge seemed appropriate for a Friday afternoon.
I ordered a really pricey mushroom soup for $11 CAD (Higher than USD, at the time). It was more like a mushroom purée than the usually texturally complex version that I'm used to.
I didn't bother ordering a drink as I knew that would cost me a pretty penny. If it were cheaper, I may have drunk on the job...
This is the perfect fireside lounge for those who would like to curl up with a snifter of top shelf brandies or a nice single malt in the upscale staid après-ski fashion. I'm probably 20 years too young for that. -

Went to high tea - the sandwiches were fine as were the desserts, however, not much fanfare over the process. That was something i enjoyed when attending high tea at the Fairmont Empress. However, all good - although pricey at $25. One of the others in our party had the prime rib sandwich with fries and thought it was the best he had ever had. For some reason, fries taste better at Whistler :)

Great bar. Music created a great atmosphere. Professional bar staff and a good pint of Guinness. Busy spot and a nice alternative to the bar at the Four Seasons.

The bar feels like a country club on the inside. I would recommend for happy hour b/f dinner or when you take a day off of skiing and want a lazy lunch or cocktail. Would think it would be kinda hard to stomp in here for a drink/lunch w/ all your ski gear.
