This bar is the ultimate, relaxed pub with TVs if you want to watch sports with inside voices. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

We got the fried pickles, Mac and cheese wedges, and burgers. Veggie burger here is delicious. This isn't a place to post up for the entire night, but a good place to grab a couple beers, have a conversation, and eat some food.

Walking down Third Avenue and ran into this place. Needed some lunch, so I decided to drop in. Very glad I did.

This is a British pub with British beers on tap (enjoying a London's Pride as I write this) and a British pub menu to match. (Very much enjoyed my Ploughman's Sandwich with vinegar and fries on the side)

There are a lot of British accents throughout this place and English football is playing on all of the tv screens.

The staff was extremely friendly and the crowd was equally nice.

Good beer, good food, good atmosphere. What more can you possibly ask for? I will definitely return to this spot on a future occasion as I'm looking forward to trying some of the other menu offerings.

      My London Pride draft!

I've popped in once or twice with my buddy who's a City fan. If you're a Manchester City fan, this is where you should be weekend mornings. It's a great crowd of supporters and pretty much the HQ for the New York fanbase.

The bar itself is an Anglo-American pub with a decent food menu, solid draughts, and very friendly service. Brunch prices are about what you'd expect, maybe a couple dollars more. The bar also had interesting knicknacks on the walls and warm atmosphere.

Owner and staff were super cool for putting the Spurs game on for me and an Arsenal game for another guy--in the back room--with sound!

There's a beer garden out back with a TV that looks like a good time.

Been here multiple times. I can say the food and service has always been good. However this time around me and my partner somehow received our bill with gratuity included? A party of two with gratuity included? Never heard of this, considering the fact that I work in the food industry. This lead me to question my waitress. She then told me they add gratuity to parties of 6 and more (we were 2ppl), to tourist (we are new yorkers), and to checks over $100 (our bill was $94 before 20% gratuity was included)?
I knew what was going on then but I didnt want to make a show. I quietly paid my check and went along with my day. This server definitely categorized us as "cheap".

Very disappointed and this leads to our last time at The Madhatter.

Added gratuity for party of 2? I have bewn here several times and when I asked, the waiter told me if the bill is over 100

3.5 based on attending 2 private parties held in the outdoor patio.
I love all things British and this pub makes me feel like I'm in London!
I visited twice, last year and last night for the annual St. George's Summer Cocktails social.
The staff are friendly, the food is standard pub food (we had mac and cheese bites, vegetable spring rolls, bruschetta and meatballs) and they have an extensive bar.
I enjoyed the atmosphere in the patio area.
I would consider returning another time for lunch or dinner.

With a plethora of sports bars in the area, the Madhatter Pub & Eatery sets itself apart with it's covered outdoor patio in the back. With projection and flat screen TVs, it's a great spot to watch a sporting event with your friends, particularly British Football. The food is typical pub fare, but nothing special with the service to match.

If you're looking for a no frills sports bar in the area you can't go wrong with the Madhatter!

This Pub / restaurant is pretty fun. It's located in Midtown Manhattan and has this European pub feel to it. Decent price drinks and a lively setting. I had a lot of fun here and we had great service.

Came here with a pretty big group and there was a nice long table up front for us to sit and have some drinks. The bar spread to the back area it look like there was a lot of seating in the back as well. Had some drinks and appetizers here, enjoyed the vibe here. The food and drinks were well-made as well. My favorite thing here is the English style red telephone booth sitting in the bar, and it's full of wine bottles!!! Such a fun touch to this establishment.

Not too rowdy a crowd and an enjoyable place to go grab some food and drinks. Check it out if you're in the area.

Loved the telephone both full of wine in this pub!

I stopped in here for some lunch to go since I didn't have enough time to sit and eat. The bar area was pretty crowded for lunch who were mostly men enjoying food and watching sports on the big screens. The staff were cool and I had no issues while I waited for my food.

I ordered from the lunch special menu and had the pasta with sausages that was really good. If I am not mistaken it was $9-$10 which wasn't bad because it was a big plate and I had it for lunch and dinner. It took a while to come out but the taste was definitely worth the wait. This is a spot I will check out again and chill inside and enjoy my meal with a cocktail of course.

Quaint bar. This review is strictly on a weekend night just for drinks.

If you're looking for cheap drinks, this is a good place. If you want a good crowd and to mingle/meet people, you should probably go elsewhere.

We came with a medium-sized group (10-12 people) and hung out at the bar by the front window and there was plenty of room for us, especially considering it was 11:00pm on a Saturday night. So, yea not a crowded or popular bar that night. But sometimes that's nice and you want a more chill bar. Budweiser was $5 in the bottle which is pretty standard.

      Decor: creepy.

Outside the bar there was a huge UGLY clown head (see picture). I've only been here this one time but I've seen pictures of this bar online and there is no clown head so I'm assuming it's just for Halloween. I sure hope so!

Inside decor was nice: dimly lit, red lighting. I like a bar that's not too bright and not too dark. Not too loud, but not quiet either. It's a science when it comes to ambiance and I was digging the ambiance at this bar. Just not the outside.

      Creepy clown out front (Halloween?)

Came here about a week ago after having some pinball fun next door at Modern Pinball - get 10% off your tab at this bar with your writstband from next door - anywhoo, not an awful spot for a quick pint if you need to kill time or if you know...you just want a cold adult beverage.

I really like their British pub theme and their thorough execution of it. Lots of football (erm...soccer) scarfs hanging by the bottle area and the red British phonebooth are both really nice touches. Decorative elements and friendly bar staff do make this place pretty enjoyable if on a

Drafts and bottles here range around $6-8 with the most inexpensive ones being ciders. No weekend happy hours, just a brunch menu that comes with 1 complimentary drink. The menu itself (both brunch, bar and regular) looked tasty but nothing stood out to me as a *must have*.

I probably wouldn't come here to make a night out of it, but I'd check it out to grab some grub or enjoy 1 or 2 quick pints if I'm in the neighborhood. I'd rank this place 3.5 Yelp stars, definitely could be more inexpensive considering the various other options in the neighborhood, but still A-OK.
