I will go to this diner every day if I lived closer to it, the muffins taste fresh and very tasty, their biscuits are probably the best ones I have had, their omelets are delicious, fresh orange juice. I have come here many times but always order the breakfast food, so I can say that if you go to the local yolk and order breakfast you wont be disappointed!

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning with my boyfriend's family. It wasn't too crowded, which was perfect because we were a party of 6.
I ordered the Gidget's Special. It was good, but nothing spectacular. That was pretty much the consensus of my whole party. Everything was well cooked and tasted good.
The service was great and we got our food surprisingly fast. I will probably go back to try other dishes they offer. -

Sunday morning we decided to try something new and go to Sloopy's. Well, there was nowhere to sit so we happened to stumble upon the Local Yolk. How did I not know this existed? I've lived in the area for over a year now.
Anyways, we ordered omelets that were stuffed with fresh ingredients. I got the biscuit which was the size of fat albert (this is a good thing). My only question after seeing this ginormous fresh biscuit was why do they not serve biscuits and gravy? Blows my mind.
Service was meh and we had our coats on and ready to leave for 15 minutes before we could get our server to give us the change to our bill. That definitely made them lose a star. When I'm full and ready to leave, let me leave!!!
I'll be back if 4 Daughters, Sloopy's, etc is too packed. Oh, and if they offer biscuits and gravy. -

Five stars for value and speed. Just had breakfast there this morning, and these guys just know how to get it done.
Steak and eggs done to perfection---quick, cheap, hot and the place was clean.

Much closer in cuisine and atmosphere to its neighboring beach cafes then to many of the overpriced industry type brunch places to be found in LA and that's not necessarily a bad thing!
I had been here once before with family so The Local Yolk popped into mind when looking for a low key place for brunch with a girlfriend before I dropped her off at LAX (which was less than 10 minutes away). We each got an omelette with the accompanying sides and shared everything - which was a good call because it was a ton of food. My Hummus Yummus omelette (goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, hummus and green onions) was tasty and chock full of filling. The fruit salad was fine but the biscuit was AMAZING!! It comes with honey and butter and maybe it's because I'm not actually from LA but I highly recommend you use both. My friend a Mexican-esqe omelette with practically a whole avocado on top. She got hers with hash browns (shredded and always tasty) and pancakes (plural). OJ tasted pretty fresh and for all that it was only $30 including tax and tip. A good deal in my book!
Service was quick and friendly on Friday mid morning but I bet this is one of those places with a long line on the weekends. So come early, order a biscuit, and then pretend to walk off your meal with a lovely stroll along the Strand! -

Stumbled in for lunch and was honestly a bit disappointed. There are few times where I eat at a place and leave feeling like I could have made the dish better myself. This was one of those times. And I feel bad saying that because the staff was very kind and attentive. Maybe I should have stuck to their breakfast items . . .

A friend invited me here for lunch, and I wasn't sure what to expect. They have several small tables for 2 outside, and it turned out to be a wonderful idea to be outdoors on a bright and sunny December afternoon (we're so lucky to live in CA!). A very nice find indeed.
I ordered The Local Yolk thinking I couldn't go wrong with a restaurant's namesake dish. I was delighted that I was right. It is an omelette (more of a scramble) that contains green Ortega chilies, tortilla strips, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, cheese and guacamole. Almost like a distant cousin of chilaquiles, it was very flavorful and delicious. I love the tortilla strips - they make for fun textures on your tongue. Most dishes come with a side of hash browns or fruit. I chose the hash browns, and they were light and crispy. And get this! Dishes also come with your choice of muffin, homemade biscuit, pancakes or toast. I opted for wheat toast (trying to be healthy and all, you know). My friend chose the pancakes and out comes these two large saucers of pancakes. A pretty good deal, in my opinion.
Overall, a nice local spot with friendly service. -

LOCAL YOLK IS A JOKE!!!!! How did this place manage to ruin the breakfast experience? First of all this place needs to stop living off its legacy. I am sure at one point and time this place was a nice cosy mom and pop place that served up some home made/style breakfast.
Lets fast forward to the morning of October 26th. Some of my coworkers and I went in to have breakfast. First thing I noticed was that there was only once server. The place had approximately 10 to 15 customers inside of it. I could see the cooks were busy retelling pots and pans, desperately looking at ticket orders.
I ordered a short stack of pancakes and a side of hash browns. My drink (iced tea) was brought out promptly. There was no sugar on the table, so I drank it without sugar.
About 15 to 20 minutes later, I received my pancakes and hash browns along with my coworkers food. My pancakes did not have butter. I sat there for about 3 minutes until I flagged down the already busy server and told him I wanted butter. He apologized and assured me he would be bringing me some. So I waited another 2 minutes and still no butter. So finally I decided to take matters in to my own hands and got up and walked up to the server, who was now desperately trying to organize a set of plates to be served. I walked up to him and asked him for butter, and he gave me a look and said, "I will bring it to you", and I said okay and went back to my table.
So I waited another 2 minutes and still no butter, so I decided to eat butter-less pancakes with maple syrup. So now back to the iced tea. Yeah still no sugar and by this time I had already drank all of my iced tea. If you are wondering about a refill, well there was no refill. I finished by meal, which at this point was cold because of all the waiting around for butter. My hash browns were extremely greasy and had a bland taste to them.
Make a long story short, my visit to the Local Yolk ended up being a joke. I have been here 3 times, and the third time was the final for me. I am sure at one point this place was a nice cosy place which built its costumer base on reputation for good customer service, wholesome food, and a down to earth atmosphere, but you cant live off your past legacy.
My experience of this place is not just limited to the service I received on my last visit, but there are other concerns, like the in dining experience. The old furniture and seating are uncomfortable. If you are a loyal customer I am sure you will continue to come here, but if you are looking for a subtle place to have breakfast, don't come here. So sign off with my quote for this place, "Local Yolk is a joke". -

I used to go to Sloppys all the time but now this is my new favorite joint after surfing. It completely hits the spot -- the french toast, the delicious chorizos and omelettes and the re-fillable coffee. OMG The banana muffins + Huge Biscuits are SO SO GOOD. And I dont even like sweets/pastries.
Had my friend not urged for "breakfast" food after surfing, I'd never would've come here. It's kind of a dingy decor and always packed with slightly large people and families.....but get seated and enjoy brunch on a beautiful summer day. theres usually a wait on sundays during lunch time, but everyone gets seated relatively quickly.
The service is also excellent and they treat everyone equally (yes, even in manhattan beach-- or make sure to have atleast 1 white person at the table) -

Let me begin by stating that the coffee here is good, and the service at the bar area is attentive. The staff are nice.
To quote Rem R. below:
"My girlfriend looked at the menu and was pretty stoked to find Eggs Benedict with REAL CRAB. What the description failed to say is that crab comes from a can and tastes like tin. My girlfriend who does not turn her nose up at anything had a few bites and was disgusted and sick to her stomach."
I am not this guy's girlfriend but I did the very same thing. I went here with my boyfriend for the first time a month ago, and was was also thrilled to see the Eggs Benedict with Real (expired canned) Crab on the menu. The crab was nasty, but I was starving so I removed all of the crab and ate the rest. I had ordered hard-poached eggs so the rest of the breakfast was satisfactory. Afterwards my boyfriend advised me to never again order seafood breakfast items at a breakfast dive, it's just common sense. I agreed. Also, my boyfriend ordered the Huevos Rancheros and wasn't very happy with it. How can you screw up Huevos Rancheros? It's so easy to make.
This place needs to be re-decorated and cleaned up, the food is not the best quality either so I don't get the appeal. Yes it's in Manhattan Beach, a very charming location, but the food does not justify the run-down interior or the mess behind the breakfast bar counter. It needs to be on an episode of Restaurant Impossible with Robert Irvine. -

I just had breakfast here during a busy Sunday. I sat at the counter and loved the place. My wife and I got to watch them work and make sure everyone had their coffee and food. They filled my coffee many times and took great care of us. We each picked a different omelet: 1. Local Yolk, 2. Manhattan Beach.
Our favorite was the Manhattan Beach, but both were good. The Manhattan beach had great flavor with a little bit of spicy mixed with salty from the bacon. Both were good. -

I've been a few times. My husband and I are foodies with a penchance for breakfast and espresso. So, in seeking a diversified breakfast option (only because we had been to Four Daughters and Sloopys so many times that we didn't want to wear out the love), we went to The Local Yolk. We have been there a few times, actually. Not near the level of the other two restaurants across the street and next door, but a basic good meal. Think 1970's greasy diner with Highland Avenue, Manhattan Beach appeal. Barista skills are limited but not insulting.
Weekday morning clientele is working crowd and retirees. Nice and quiet. Love the staff, fun to watch.
I'd go back. I'm sure that I will. -

Huevos Divorciados.
Huevos Rancheros with both red and green sauce. They are a special so I think that they are not always here. But if you see them, get them!
Omg, so good. They come with a side of either black or refried beans and they are heaven on a plate.

Four Daughters turned me away for breakfast (boo - curry tofu scramble is so good there and hearty enough to split for a full breakfast and lunch) ... so I walked across the street to give Local Yolk a try. Too bad the girl working at Four Daughters that morning was such a sour puss - every other time I've gone in before 730am, I was able to order breakfast!
It's a old school diner inside, without trying to be. Tables, booths along the wall, counter seating. I ordered the mushroom, onion and avocade omlette, except asked them to make it a scramble. The eggs came out chopped up and overcooked - everything was dry dry dry. They were generous with their sliced avocado on top and I was able to get a side of fruit instead of potatoes. The fruit was good, although the orange slice they threw in still had the peel on it? I also got choice of muffin, toast, or english muffin ... I chose muffin and the lady pulled them out from the refrigerator and popped them into the microwave right on top of the counter. What?! -

My husband I ate here on our second morning in L.A. The food was good, fresh, and pleniful. I got the Arnold's favorite omelette which had spinach, bacon and jack cheese, came with hash browns and for my bread I got the biscuit. The bacon was pretty salty, so taste before you add to it. The biscuit was so good! And huge. I honestly don't remeber what my husband had because I was really enjoying my own food (and it was about a week ago), but i do know he did enjoy it. Neither one of us finished our whole meal because there was so much food. This was a good place for a relaxed morning meal.

We really like the Local Yolk. I have had both Huevos Divorciados and omelettes. It's a small place and you basically sit there and observe service while you eat. Everyone there works very hard. It's the kind of restaurant I like to support. I have never had to wait there like at Uncle Bill's, and I can't stand long waits to eat. They have interesting specials often - different types of eggs benedict or creative omelettes or nice uses of seasonal ingredients. The prices are great and the food is fresh. This is our first choice for breakfast when we want to go out and eat in somewhere local but are willing to drive.

Review from Rem R.
My girlfriend and I decided to give The Local Yolk a shot this morning for breakfast. It seemed like a good idea. The Marine layer was thick, it was a tad chili and I could not think of a better idea than to warm up with a cup of coffee. Wendy's in El Segundo is our normal spot but I thought we would mix it up a bit and try something new. I had been to The Local Yolk before my girlfriend had not.
We arrived and were seated quickly. The crowd was a mixture of locals in pajamas, families and surfers.
Our waiter was fast and nice and quickly asked what we would like to drink.
I have been telling my girlfriend that I have wanted pancakes for weeks now. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash breakfast that was subpar at best. I had the pancakes which were soggy. If I was not starving I am not sure I would have eaten them. I also ordered a side of sourdough toast.
My girlfriend looked at the menu and was pretty stoked to find Eggs Benedict with REAL CRAB. What the description failed to say is that crab comes from a can and tastes like tin. My girlfriend who does not turn her nose up at anything had a few bites and was disgusted and sick to her stomach.
The waiter came by and observed that my girlfriend has placed her napkin over the food. The waiter asked if the food was Ok, my girlfriend told him the food was not good and quite gross.
The waiter returned advising that order was removed from our bill. This is where it gets good. The bill with just my order was still almost $18.00. I am not a cheapskate but $2.50 for toast?
The food was no better than Denny's (Denny's is no better than putting a BOW on doggy doo doo).
I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE.
If you are in the mood for a fantastic breakfast go to Wendy's (Google it).

Like an old school diner.. it was either this or North End on a cold Saturday afternoon. We chose The Local Yolk due to they still had breakfast on the menu and a bigger restaurant dining area!
Food was decent. French toast was yummy. Looks like they soak the entire bread in egg and then grill it, so all the tastes are not just on the outside but yet inside of the bread.
Their poached eggs was perfect the way I liked it. It wasn't too runny and wasn't too cook.. perfection!
3 stars for the food and definitely 1 EXTRA star to the friendly, honest waiter! They close at 2pm on weekends!
p.s. Love the catchy name "The Local Yolk!" -

The local Yolk is the place to be!! (in the mornings)... I love coming here on a lazy morning with my friends or with my boyfriend and have coffee and their awesome scrambled eggs..
I live just a couple of block from this place and they owners are almost always there to make sure everything is okay, and they are so friendly!!
The food might only be 4 stars, but I am giving them 5 stars because of the lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.Listed in: Dating madness, LA county tours

I really wanted to give this place a couple more stars but I felt that my experience was not up to par as what other yelpers had when they dined at The Local Yolk. So please hear me out!
I'm big on brunch, and after coming from the breakfast/brunch capital of the country, Portland, I have brunch expectations for other places as well. So I thought The Local Yolk would do me justice and represent what I've been having. But sorry it didn't take me there.
So what I liked about this place is that they are open super duper early for breakfast and especially on the weekdays (something I didn't get in Portland). I also liked that the waitresses were quite friendly and attentive to your table.
But what I didn't like was that they were quite TOO ATTENTIVE where you didn't get a chance to take a first bite of your food and they ask you how everything is going when they check up on you. I'm sorry but I would like to go thru at least 3-6 bites of chowing down my meal or even 5 minutes into my meal before you check up on me to see how I'm actually doing. Thank you!! Another pet peeve I had was that I would like to finish my meal before I get the check. My party of four and I weren't even half way done through our meal when low and behold we were given the check. I mean I know it's a diner and I know you can get busy, but that's the job that it entails. But I think OUT OF RESPECT of any customer, I think it would be courteous to wait until people have finished their meal until given the check. (But that was my experience and that's just me).
So what did I order? I ordered eggs because that's what they're known for. I had their special of the house: "The Local Yolk" Omelette which had a Tex-Mex feel to it and tortilla chips. Although my eggs were cooked perfectly, the veggies inside were a bit "un dente" thats what I said "un-done!" And I opted to have a biscuit instead of pancakes as my side with a cup of fruit. My biscuit was unfortunately not toasted with a golden brown color as you would think a biscuit would be. It was kinda doughy tasting and I thought I had a taste of flour in there. Sorry my meal wasn't considered "award winning" as the "claim to fame" is to be.
I don't know if it was the day I came, or what I ordered, but unfortunately I did not have a egg-stactic time here.
Would I come back? I would give you a second try because I believe in second chances. But after being scarred, I don't know if that's going to occur any time soon. -

Rundown
- not in love with this place
- good French toast
- rundown but lively atmosphere
- parking can be a pain
I can here for a late breakfast on one weekend. Parking was a pain and I had to drive up and down Highland to find a parking spot. The one plus is Manhattan Beach finally has meters that take credit cards. No need to carry around heavy coins in the purse. :)
I like it that there wasn't a line and I seated myself right away. I ordered coffee and the French toast combo (with two sunny side eggs and two bacon strips). The coffee wasn't very good to me. The flavor was strong but tasted more like....coffee that was sitting on the pot for too long.
I have to say that I gave this place 3 stars because of the French Toast. It was flavorful and wasn't dry. It had a nice amount of cinnamon. However, the eggs were strange and it was cooked but the bottom was still white!! I like the bottom to be a bit crispy. Bacon wasn't bad.
The service was decent and I liked how fast try took my order and how often they came to check on me.
I don't think I will add this place to my local breakfast favorites but may have a craving for the French toast again. -

Manhattan Beach, CA
WORST. OMLETTE. EVER. I am not picky about my foot. I eat stale desserts & reconstitute stale bread. This was awful. I've eaten here before about 4 years ago. I don't remember what I had but it wasn't bad enough for me not to return. This time the verdict is final. I'm not coming back.
This is a Manhattan Beach institution and I'm horribly dissapointed how bad my omlette was. First of all, my definition of omlette is that the veggies/fillings are inside the omlette, that is, inside the egg mixture. Somehow, I actually started questioning my definition of omlette at this place.
I ordered the LA omlette with mushrooms, green onions & jack cheese and avocado. Oh yummy!!! I love mushrooms. I love green onions. I love jack cheese. I LOVE avocado. I love omlettes. I hated the one I got at Local Yolk.
The egg mixture was dry and folded up with the "fillings" on top of of the omlette. On top? Really? Every fork full the fillings/toppings fell off. The eggs were awful & tasteless.
The server saw my confused face & told me that depending on who cooks the omlette, the fillings are either inside or on top. She offered to have it changed. GREAT, I thought. WRONG.
The second attempt was more of an egg burritto. It was the same super dry cooked egg mixture, kind of like a tortilla, with the same fillings folded between the 'egg tortilla', like a burritto. Again, with every fork full, the fillings fell out. I just couldn't eat it... and I eat anything.
That's not to mention that I'm not sure what they cooked it with but despite the fact that I ate maybe 1/4 of my omlette, at 9 am, my tummy still feels like a rock is sitting at the bottom of it at 1:45 pm.
My kids had pancakes. They were OK. Cute presentation with fruit.
My hubby had a 'banana' pancake, his favorite. Usually the banana is mixed into the batter. Here, bananas were layered on top of plain pancakes. I guess technically that's a banana pancake.
Incidentally, my omlette was pictured in the menu and what they served was nothing like the omlette in the menu. Also, the omlette looked very pretty until I tried eating it. -

Julie & Tracy Kesler are the Local Yolk owners. They have carried on the family owned business and changed little. This is truly the neighborhood restaurant where families and friends congregate for breakfast & lunch. And oh what a menu they have. All the servers have long tenure with LY and treat you like you have been coming there for years.
I think the friendliness they show for all ages makes this a wonderful stop when you are hungry. -

Welcome to Manhattan Beach, where everything is overpriced.......real estate, clothes, parking, food............
Haha, I stopped here for the first time today because I thought it would be really good, and it wasn't all that great. I like a couple of scrambled eggs without all the fattening stuff alongside, like potatoes. But that was not possible, to just order the eggs by themselves. I had to order 2 eggs for $7.95....which included choice of bread, and potatoes or fruit. I didn't want potatoes or fruit, so my server suggested cottage cheese & sliced tomato instead. Wonderful.
I got the biscuit that I didn't want because it came with the meal. Egad it was huge, see the photo. It was piping hot, too hot to touch, hot enough to melt the butter that was alongside it. Well, I cannot resist butter. So I did eat a little of that damn biscuit, about a third, and it was delicious.
Not much to say about the eggs and the rest (see photo). They could have been hotter but one rarely gets a breakfast served hot anymore.
My complaint is that the meal was overpriced, considering it was nothin' special. It was worth perhaps 6 bucks but certainly not 8.
Service was perfect.
I was on my way to Santa Monica, and in Marina del Rey I passed an organic restaurant (on Admiralty Way) I've been meaning to try. And next time that's where I'm going, forget Local Yolk.Listed in: Breakfast Spots

After a long absence I had occasion to return to my former home in the South Bay beach cities last weekend. One of the first priorities was to revisit an old favorite breakfast spot, and it is great to know that some things don't change over the years. The Local Yolk is still a terrific place for great food and friendly folks. After I ordered my omelette and fresh-baked muffins, Pesky Boss called my cell and I made the poor choice of answering. I stepped out and got stuck in a 20 minute conversation with Bossman. Upon stepping back in I was told that my breakfast had been dumped and would be remade pronto, and within minutes I was feasting on a delicious huge omelette and still-warm muffins. No charge for this redo on my bill, and when I asked to pay for my "second" breakfast I was cheerfully refused. Thanks LY for starting my day off with outstanding food, excellent coffee, and your special kindness.

My My My... I wouldn't disagree with anyone, if they called me a breakfast connoisseur. I have definitely had my share of breakfast joints from NYC to SoCal, corporate to "mom and pop" joints.
This place is almost un-beatable. Yea, it's that good to me...
I live 2 miles away and work from home, so I like to order delivery to get more work done ( and so I don't have to change out of my jammies, haha).
After ordering, my food came in 15 minutes, still hot and with a friendly smile!
I got the Cancun Chorizo
Spicy Mexican sausage and cheddar cheese. Covered with guacamole, green onions, diced tomatoes and sour cream.
The egg was fluffy and filled with a plethora of melted cheddar cheese, the chorizo was flavorful and spicy ...
The toppings were to die for... although I wish I had more tomatoes and green onions on mine.
I'm a big fan of guac. and sour cream... believe me guys, they definitely don't skimp out on the two, and the coolness of the two go really well with the hot chorizo and cheesy egg.
Plus a heaping side of pancakes and hash-browns. LOVE IT!
I highly recommend breakfast lovers to this place =) -

I love when local places are good! The Local Yolk was jammed pack on this cold and semi rainy Saturday.
Their menu is huge but we were there for bfast so that was all I really browsed at. I was in the mood for French toast but when I saw their huge section of omelets my tummy changed my mind immediately.
I went for the first one that I looked at which was the Cancun Chorizo. It was topped with guacamole, sour cream, chopped tomatoes and green onions. The omelet was delicious!!! The chorizo was super tasty and not greasy or oily at all. It was the lightest chorizo dish I have ever had. It was served with super yummy hash browns and I of course ordered b&g on the side. I am sad to report that along with another MB staple (the kettle) these b&g's were the second worst I have had. The gravy had this sweet yet sour quality about it and there was no amount of pepper in the world that was able to fix this b&g.
The girls also got omelets. One California which was filled with bacon, hash browns and cheese and topped with sour cream. I tried this one and it was cheesy bacon yummyness. The other ordered the namesake The Local Yolk and that one was filled with ortega chilies, tortilla strips, bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, jack cheese and topped with spicy guac. I didn't try this one but it looked awesome!.
Their biscuits are big, dense and delicious. They bring you a honey bear without asking which I thought was cool. Service was great and the place is very retro, homey yet charming. Will return for sure!Listed in: Breakie or Bust, My quest for the BEST Biscuits…

Good god I'm hot for the local yolk. I'll butter up a biscuit and be on my way to a calorie-laden breakfast here in no time.
"Z," as I know her, is my favorite server, always here bright and early in her regalia (you'll see). She takes her job seriously (do not mistake this for curtness) and is very good at it. She's really a sweetheart and loves her customers.
Something I love about the Yolk is that I've been brought my biscuit before my meal many times. I love that because I have time to eat it hot. The biscuit is about the size of my palm--heavy, yet fluffy at the same time.
Following the biscuit I'll usually be brought my meal of jalapeno hash which consists of jalapenos, potatoes, and melty cheese with a side of scrambled eggs. Holy hot damn! It's a big serving, and I have no problem (until afterward, when I pass out) eating all of it after the biscuit.
I've ordered other things at the Yolk like omelets and eaten some pumpkin pecan pancakes here as well. The omelets are decent and the pumpkin pecan pancakes are recommended, but for me it's all about the jalapeno hash and the biscuits. Oh, they also have the RIGHT kind of English muffins.
Can't wait to try the French toast, and when I do, I will add it to this review!
A note--it does get busy here and the parking, it often SUCKS. Bring quarters for meters and/or be prepared to walk a distance.Listed in: Your Most Important Meal

If you're gonna make reference to eggs in your restaurant's name, you've gotta be pretty solid on your egg-making abilities. My "hummus yummus" omelette was pretty disgusting. Not to mention that I sounded like an asshole ordering a "hummus yummus."
Public Service Announcement: resist giving your restaurant or your menu items cutesy names. You can do it. I know you can. -

The local yolk is just a cute place, even the name!!!!! I have been going to it since I was little. I always get the California omlette. Cute place, good waitors, interesting people, bright eyed families crowding into a booth at 8am before hitting the beach and what not.
The one downside is the parking situation. Bring lots of quarters -

What a lovely breakfast hidden treasure!!
A seemingly popular spot with the locals, I can tell it gets ridiculously crowded on the weekends. A typical diner, it has an extensive breakfast menu along with sandwiches and salads for lunchtime, though I noticed it closes at 230pm. So short lunch time? I ordered 2 eggs sunny side up with hash browns, and 2 freshly baked cranberry muffins. The eggs were perfect, lovely crispy potatoes, and mmMmmm i love fresh muffins!!! Their orange juice was delish and freshly squeezed too. A rather hefty portion of the menu was dedicated to omelettes, which apparently they're famous for. Next time I want to try one!! Service was friendly, the vibe was laid-back. Makes me want to wake up earlier in the mornings just to come :) -

Eating breakfast on their patio was relaxing. Enjoying a great breakfast along with the light bustle of pedestrians and their canine friends.
The service was excellent and the food arrived in a timely fashion. The owner or manager came out to give all the canine guests some doggie treats.
It was a very pleasant experience even though I did not set one foot into the restaurant building. -

This is probably one of my favorite breakfast places in the southbay! It's not foofy like Wildflower but just your get down and dirty place to have a really good breakfast!
What I like are the booths they have for seating. Reminds me of my college years when my buddies and I scarf down breakfast on a Saturday morning as we gather together joking and reminiscing about our Friday night escapades.
It's a family-oriented place as was evident by the Mickey Mouse and Spongebob Pancakes which are especially made for kids.
I had the Breakfast Fiesta made up of sweet Italian sausage, diced green & yellow peppers and apples. They mix it with scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese and serve it with warm tortillas. It comes with hash browns as a complement.
Really, really good! The wait staff is very attentive and quick with the coffee refills! Counter seating available if you happen to be dining solo. Can't wait until the weekend!Listed in: Favorite Southbay Eateries

The local yolk is one of my favorite "morning after" Sex and the City breakfast with the girls spots because they have the perfect 4 person sized booths....just kidding... ok no I'm not! I hate circle tables they're just odd!
The Yolk is a great place to hit for lunch also. I can't speak much to the quality of the food as I'm guilty of always ordering the same yummmmmmmy sandwich but what I can tell you is that it's never too crowded, tthe service is fast and the atmosphere is friendly, but sometimes you gotta check yourself mid "sex and the city" story re-cap cuz it is a place where families come on weekend mornings and parents will be shooting you looks and covering their children's ears and eyes to divert their attention away from your VIVID stories! WHATEVER!!! let them eat at home!
