This is a yet another cute clothing shop on Main Street. They have some brands I've never heard of before, but they also had brands such as Gentle Fawn. The dressing room is average size, but wish they had mirrors inside. Sometimes you don't want to step out to see if something fits right or if something is super sheer.
I never noticed any makeup so I'm not sure they had any. My main goal was to look for a dress or top and although I found the absolute cutest dress, they were out of my size. Noooo! I'll be back to take another look and hopefully they have new stock by then.Listed in: Main Street Love

Someone help me... Did I miss the back room? A secret tunnel that takes girls to the "lip" part of the lounge? Was I in the right store at all?
Read the reviews? (Check, okay so they're from last year, and Kreag S's said 3 makeup lines, but still)
Visited their website? (Check, and checked out all of the makeup brands that look like they're displayed based on their pics)
Went out of my way on a miserable, wet and rainy day to check out makeup and what did I find? Clothes, clothes and more clothes. Oh, and a few lip glosses. Like literally, one brand.
Could a name be more misleading? Sure the clothes looked alright, and if I hadn't wanted makeup I might have been more inclined to browse...but um, where's the LIP part of the Lounge?Listed in: 'Cos I'm Just a Girl, The Best of Vancouver's Main…

I don't really understand this place...they look like a hair salon or makeup store..but they don't do hair..although I think they used to...and they sell like 3 makeup lines..well..more like 3 makeup products...and some jewelry and clothes...I dunno..it's just weird and something feels off...likes it's a front for something else...like underground botox lip injection...thus "The Lip Lounge"????
A good friend of mine did find a super cute summer party dress there for like $60 bucks..it was a Canadian designer who's name I forget...but it was a great dress..she wore the shit out of it and still gets complements..it did nothing for her lips though..so...I think Lip Lounge really needs to work on a new name...maybe they mean your lips can be relaxed and lounge while you shop???..ya..that doesn't make sense either... -

Pleasant Girl, and its successor, Militant Penguin, were two of my favourite clothing stores on Main St. Most things were under $150, and they carried a good variety of up-and-coming and established labels. After the fire at Main & Broadway that destroyed Militant Penguin, I was pleased to learn that Lip Lounge was owned by the same people. From what I understand, Lip Lounge used to carry more in the way of beauty products, but shifted their focus toward clothing to fill the void left by Militant Penguin. Lip Lounge carries most of the same lines as Militant Penguin did, albeit in a smaller space.
I really enjoy coming to this store. They get new stock quite often, and carry some work appropriate items, along with great casual pieces. They carry lots of wool coats, jumpers, dresses, cotton tunics, frilly ruffle-y things. The staff here are casual, but they don't have the hipster attitude that some of the staff at the clothing stores on Main St have. They are honest too. I tried on a jumper that just wasn't flattering, and I knew it, but I really wanted to love it. The saleswoman told me she didn't think it fit me very well, and offered a longer dress in a similar material that fit much better. So much so, in fact, I bought two in different patterns.
The store generally seems to have size L in stock. Some of other stores on Main St (like Front and Company) that carry a few of the same brands either sell out of large-sized clothing very quickly, or just don't order it in the first place.
The only thing I really dislike about Lip Lounge is the change room situation. Lip Lounge does not have mirrors in their change rooms. I want a mirror in my change room. if something looks horrible, I want to know before the rest of the store. I want to look at my butt in the mirror without having someone watch me while I do that. I also hate, hate hate change rooms with curtains for doors. They never shut all the way, and Lip Lounge often has a fan going, which doesn't help things. -

An afternoon of shopping along Main included the Lip Lounge. Inside, the store seemed to have a bit of everything. Headbands-many of the feather kind, jewlery- a miscellaneous assortment, belts for men, hats by DeLux.
I must comment on their jewlery section-it seemed as though they brought in one of each different style were just selling them. There weren't a lot of different styles. I wish the collection was more uniform. I did see a pair of turquoise and cobalt rhinestone ones for $10!
Their clothes consisted mostly of women's clothes (85% of the store). There were many winter jackets, all reasonably priced. A cute mid length purple one for less than $150! There were also many dresses and more formal tops. Dresses were unique in patterns and styles. As well, they had a collection of cute tees.
The Sugarplum Fairies album was playing. Cool!
Not the best selection of items, but you might find a cute dress or a pair of glam earrings! -

This place has a hodge-podge of things the include accessories, clothes, shoes, and make-up (but not really).
When one looks at the name you might assume that this place specializing in make-up. When you walk in the place it also looks like a former salon, which threw me off even more.
They do have a couple odd things that I don't think you could find anywhere else, but considering how amazing Main st. is for shopping, I wouldn't make a point of stopping in. -

Not only does The Lip Lounge carry a range of make-up lines from The Balm and Alison Raffaele along with John Masters Organics haircare, they also have some fabulous clothing designs in the form of coats, tops and pants. Deluxe hats and quirky shoes in rubber...yes, rubber (!) round out the mix. What more could a girl ask for?!

You'd think that they sell things for the lips and they do. Make-up especially. I actually thought this was a hair salon and I went in to get an eyebrow wax, but no, they don't do that. The boutique is like many other ventures that gets its bang for the buck by mixing a bunch of services under one roof. It sells original clothing, make-up, nick-knacks, jewellery, accessories like wallets, hats, and shoes. The shoes are really great. It's something fun, original and colourful for the little girl inside that liked to play with Barbies and feel girly and pretty.

I've been to the lip lounge a few times and have made some purchases there. They have some pretty neat cosmetics and nice fashions. However, on my most recent visit I was really disappointed with the service. The sale staff never once acknowledged my prescence nor offered any help. I tried on some sale items but felt as if the sale staff preferred to invest her time in the customers that were trying on full priced items. She was super attentative to them but totally ignored me. Feeling snubbed, I departed the store, not that she really cared. Unfortunately, for them, they've lost a customer. I'd rather take my business elsewhere.

The Lip Lounge is yet another one of Main Street's must-stops. They have some great cosmetics, but even more fun is the range of funky clothing and shoes. You're likely to find something here that you won't see anywhere, something fun and definitely original. This place is worth the stop!
