In the summer the patio makes the line up a great place to people watch and enjoy an extended lunch. It also adds some much needed seating as the inside accommodates about 30 people at best.
The tiny kitchen cranks out an incredible array of delicious and fresh stir fries and I've yet to find a failure. But you can also get fish and chips served in a fascinating paper cone printed to look like a newspaper wrapper. One of my favourite items, however, is the Chicago pizza, a deep dish of almost biscotti-like crust with sausage and cheese. Scrumptious!
TIP: the Chicago pizza takes at least ten minutes. Absolutely worth the wait but if you're with a group order first or you'll be twiddling your thumbs while they're lickin their chop sticks clean.
Also keep an eye out for dinner and a movie deals which gives you great rates if you're catching a show at Cinemateque and want to stop by for a bite.

We had a gathering here during the Fringe Festival. I was a little worried about seating, since they don't do reservations, but it wasn't busy and between their patio and indoor seating there was a tonne of space.
They have a strangely diverse menu, which I was a little skeptical about at first (usually if you try to do too many different things you don't excel at any of them) but what I have tried was quite tasty.
Their fish and chips were crispy and delicious and I really enjoyed their curry fries, which was basically a poutine with curry sauce instead of gravy. Flavourful but not too spicy, and the fries were really nice and crisp.
They're pretty reasonably priced and have neat deals like dinner and a movie or dinner and a ballgame for around $11, which is really cool. It'd be a good option for an inexpensive night out.
It's all counter service and you watch them prepare your food. Very causal. -

This review is going to be short and sweet. When my friends and I go to The Line Up, I always get Chicken Fingers and Fries or Fish n Chips.
You always get lots of chicken and the fish fillets are huge! For a meal thats in and around this can't be beat.
On top of this all the Line Up has the best fries in Winnipeg, thats right I said it the BEST in Winnipeg! -

I had the 3 piece chicken finger and fries entree. I was craving something fried. It helped, but if I wanted to eff' up my diet, this would not be the place. The food was just ehh.
My friend had the BBQ pork noodle box, and it was the most disgusting thing I've ever had. Imagine BBQ sauce on top of chow mien noodles. REALLY?!??! IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GROSS!!! -

For starters, I would really give this place a 3.5, but since yelp hasn't gotten around to making that an option, I gave it a four.
I have been meaning to try this place for years, and the last time I actually worked up the courage to walk in, they were closed. Luckily today we went at the right time.
Initially I was just looking for a small snack. We took a look at the menu and I was surprised at the interesting selection. Falafel? Kung Pao? Fried Ice Cream? All on the same menu! It was quite an array, but knew I wanted that Kung Pao right away.
The portions were surprisingly larger for someone that just wanted a small snack, but it was just mediocre in taste. My husband's falafel was a little bland, but I put salt on everything anyway. Of course I'm sure they aren't trying to come off as authentic in any of the cuisines, but it's a great place for a bite to eat and the atmosphere is satisfactory!
Let's just say, I would definitely go back if I'm in The Exchange with a hankerin' for a "snack" ;-)Listed in: Winterpeg
