Hello Terry J
It was nice to see your new working place. Loved the little birds. Local beer is delicious.Service excellent. Thanks. Wished I could have found some information about the gay Victoria (dancing, music etc...) but Vicky is still very shy. We cannot be more royalist than the Queen. All the best as usual, your team as well. Bravo!

A comfortable upstairs location for drinks, pool and T.V. Music played at a volume that allowed conversation. Speaking of which, it seems Victorians, in all the establishments we visited, have a great knack for setting the volume at just the right level.
Though closed here on a November night, they have a deck that is open in warmer weather.
The very friendly table service from the bartenders was outstanding. They were constantly checking on us and eager to get us additional rounds as we desired.
While there, I thought the (expertly made) $9 martinis were kinda small. However, the next morning I certainly no longer felt that those martinis had been tiny. :-) -

The Ledge Lounge is Victoria's newest GLBT venue. I checked it out for the first time a few days after they opened and I was more than pleased with what there was to offer.
The Ledge is located on the mezzanine of the Bedford Regency Hotel, and the space is large and comfortable, with a lot of couches and tables. There are foosball, pool, and snooker tables, a juke box, a large TV that was playing the Olympics when I was there, and a cozy fireplace.
The bar is quite large, with great prices for mixed drinks and beer. They have a light menu that's available throughout the night as well. I didn't have any food when I visited, but the spinach salad that my friend had looked fantastic. The only suggestion I would have is to hire another server, as Terry (the owner) seemed to be run off his feet serving drinks and food to the entire lounge on his own.
If you're looking for a place that isn't super loud or glittery to have a great time, the Ledge is definitely one to check out. They open at 2pm Thursday through Sunday, so early afternoon would be a great time to stop by and try the food while missing the late night crowd. I wish the best for them in the future and I'll be going back to support them, for sure. -

Stumbled across The Ledge on my first day in Victoria (thanks for the rainbow flag). A Monday night at 6:30 PM and it was pretty quiet, but the cute butch girl bartender was efficient and the pint of Canadian cider was delicious. Not sure what this enormous space is like when it's busy, but I wish them the best.
