wicked store full of toys, video games (retro and new), consoles, and more.  Don't miss out on what truly is the last cool game store.  Make sure you check out the listings for their after hours events too

I love this store! The size of the store is just perfect for what they sell.
The staff are always friendly and passionate about what they sell. Which is always awesome.

I went in the first time looking for some N64 and NES games and they had most of what I wanted. The second time I went in looking for an A/C adapter for an Atari and I wasn't expecting to find it but I was pleasantly surprised that they had one.
Items in the store are reasonably priced so I would recommend people to check this place out if you're a gamer.

Adam is super helpful for anyone  needing help navigating the vast collection of games, systems, gear, cables and other used/new goods.

In terms of selection, there isn't a shop around with more to offer. With systems, cables, accessories and games going back to Atari and Calico all the way through to the 360 and PS3. If you are searching for something that is hard to find or out of print, this is your best bet.

Although the stock is based on trade in, so finding your hidden gems can be a quest the staff is able to search the shelves for you. Check out the stock on request via phone, e-mail or facebook so if you have a must-have game you don't have to drive all the way out there to check if it was traded in.

Pre-orders for new games are available, anyone who doesn't pre-order still has a chance to grab the new release but stock outside of pre-order copies is usually limited to 3-4 extras.

The trade in values are the best around and for a limited time system trade ins this month (June 2011) are up as part of a special promotion. Ongoing promotions include the buy 2 used games (any system) get 10% off, but 3+  used games (any system) get 20% off. Which is pretty great.

Accepting trade ins on most games/systems especially now that EB/Gamestop has cut everything except the 3rd gen, is an added bonus. Adam's trade in prices are pretty generous and seem to average out around 1/2 the sale price depending on current stock/selling patterns.

The pricing on used games is extremely reasonable compared to the high mark ups Gamezilla (in NB) had for older systems/titles. And they carry all kinds of gaming gifts/collectors items and merchandise which isn't avail in other video game shops.

The only real place for improvement is the location as they are just outside of halifax.

I have also never ever been to a game store where they offer a 6 month warranty on their sales. Nor have I ever seen one where they allow you to try a game before buying. Serious customer service and appreciation. I wouldn't shop anywhere else.

    Wheel Chair Accessible: Yes

Location: Lacewood Bus terminal, so you can bus there from any major terminal it's about 15-20 minutes outside of Halifax. Driving is great because of the parking etc.

Price on sales: Games range from 4.95-49.95$, only the new stuff is in higher I find most titles hover around 9.95-14.95-19.95$ range which makes it pretty damn affordable.

Prices on trade ins: You can store credit, which is amazing. Again, Trade in values are pretty great, they take a lot of stuff not accepted elsewhere and the trade in values are fair.

Atmosphere: Gamer Heaven. I could spend hours just hanging out playing the arcade games or looking over old games. Always something new.

    Selection: Outstanding.

Ok. So I have a few friends.

They. Are. Gamers. My own expertise on the topic will be immediately snuffed and thrown aside by expert dudes with serious merit, but from what I can gather, this spot is pretty on top of things.

Its a cool spot to visit, if anything. The spectrum is there, and for Moms and Dads looking to get the thumbs up next Christmas from your little she-dragon/ warrior.. hit it up! Games, collectables, comics-- its happening.  I will likely not make a purchase, but i direct others with the passion for fantastical lashin' to hop to it.

I love the defiance in the name of this store. With EB Games, Futureshop, Wal mart and so many other big box outlets cornering the market on Video Games it's nice to see this place wear its fate with honor. They are not only the last game store, they are the last great game store!

The nostalgia you'll feel when you step in this place is ridiculous. Not only are there new games for sale, but classics as well! Nintendo, SNES, Sega, N64! So many memories come rushing back if you really dive in and see what they have for sale. I didn't think I'd ever have a conversation about the 8-bit classic River City Ransom ever again, but here I was talking about Alex and Ryan's quest to rescue Cyndi from the evil villain Slick...and I loved it.

The guys behind the counter really know their stuff and it's always nice to see people working for love and not just a paycheck. They were happy to chat and answer my questions about the games they had available.

Another great feature here are the classic arcade cabinets. These are getting harder and harder to find these days, so it was nice to see the classic quarter machines in all their glory.

Overall I really liked this place. From their classic collection of new and used games to their friendly staff and fair prices, The Last Game Store is a paradise for video game nerds.

All your business are belong to the Last Game Store!*

*Only the geekiest of video game geeks will enjoy this reference, typos and all!

I've still in mourning over the closing of Play N Trade but I do have to say that this place is now the King of game stores in Halifax. Good variety of games, consoles and the staff are pretty ok too. The Last Gamestore will be going on my list of places to visit soon.

They love video games and you can tell! I walked into this store that doesn't have too much visual appeal on the outside, not knowing what to expect. I was instantly bombarded by sounds of arcade machines, colorful images of superhero's and an overly enthusiastic man who I believe could be the owner, who was more than willing to help me out and download all of his knowledge about the video game world to me in mere seconds!

I must say I have become less and less of a video game lover as the years go on. But to see someone so enthusiastic about what they are selling can attract people that hate video games to this store! This man's passion for video games was contagious to say the least.

But enough about the incredible customer service and on to the products. What makes this store unique is the fact that it has a lot of older video games mixed in with new ones. If you want to buy an old Sega Genesis or the original Nintendo, they are both there for you. And he doesn't charge ridiculous prices because he believes these are valuable antiques either. But he also has an amazing assortment of video games for older consoles which were fun to look back and reminisce about my childhood.

The store also has full on arcade machines that you can play while you are there. I forgot to ask if you can buy them because I would be curious. My girlfriend would leave me if I did, but satisfying my curiosity at the very least couldn't hurt, could it? Perhaps I shouldn't tempt fate.

The Last Game Store is better than a lot of the latest game stores. Their prices are very similar to the regular game stores. But this store has games you can't get anywhere else unless you love the bidding wars on eBay.

WOW what a cool store. Waiting for my friend to get his order from next door I decided to check it out. It used to be called EB games but has now since changed. So what I was expecting was just games.

Walking in the door I really did not expect to see all the cool stuff as from the outside of the store unless I seen the open sign I would not have guessed what was on the other side. Fun Fun for all ages. it is like a small arcade to pass the time while the kids shop. Not only do they sell games for the newer systems they also have items for those old archaic ones that are under my sons bed from when he was small. Gee to think that the PS1 and the old X box are still around.

This is a must visit for all you gaming freak (in a good way) trust me my nephew rocks all this. They really have some neat things that are different for those hard to buy people. As Shawna said there are some cool pins that are made buy the owner for sale just to add to the gift.

The Last Gamestore is exactly what we all need. Not knowing what to expect, we went in. The outside will not draw you attention, but trust me when I say, enter. The Retro Store.

This is a Blast from the past! Bin-ball Machines, Video Arcade, Marvel vs Capcom, Street-fighter, Super Contra and others.
.25 a game, you can not beat that.

We came across a jar of really cool pins. The owner makes them, they are all the cool characters of your favourite games for only $1.00.
We got Zombies Ate My Neighbour and Super Mario World. They are pretty cool.

You will find mostly older games, cords, attachments for all the old systems. Super-Nintendo, N64 and Sega.

They also have a great collection of comics, for some cheap prices.
    This is a great store!
    Some really neat lamps to!

Here you will get the extra customer service not provided from the larger box stores.
