I'm very sad to say that their bean salad just isn't the same anymore. they have gone through several recipe changes and it's just not as good as it used to be when they first opened.
Otherwise, great soups and service! they let you taste the soup before ordering. The grilled cheese sandwiches and panini are pretty awesome, and while mac and cheese isn't my thing I know others who love it. How can vegetarian stuff be so good? And the price is relatively reasonable compared to say Nature's Garden...1 Previous Review:

Finally, vegetarian food at SFU Burnaby!
Located in the MBC, The Ladle is among one of the few edible food options on campus.
Love their soups but I would stay away from the vegetarian hot dog if you are a traditional hot dog lover. Even with a pack of everything (ketchup, mayo, mustard, relish) it still tastes bland -_- -

I have never had a bad soup at the Ladle, and was very excited at how tasty, affordable and varied their soups were - I had stayed away from it all my years at SFU. However, I am quite certain I got stomach flu from the last time I visited there. Unfortunately, I will never be returning. I informed them of what happened after it passed and they promised to relay my message to management. They said they never heard such a complaint. I am sure of the source of the flu since, other than 2 fruits for breakfast, I ate nothing but a soup and a grilled cheese sandwhich the day I got sick.

The vegan mushroom soup from the Ladle sustained me every day I was up at SFU. So good!
