Ate dinner here recently and it was fantastic! Very easy to make the reservation through Yelp.
Reservation for 7pm, was 15 minutes early but they were able to seat us right away. I did one of the Keg classic dinners (salad, filet, potato, veggies), my husband had the ribs. My bacon wrapped filet was delicious. I ordered it medium, it came medium rare which was less done than I would have preferred but not worth complaining over. The twice baked potato was not that tasty, I would not get that again. My wedge salad was fine. My husband enjoyed his ribs.
Service was on the ball, no complaints there. Dessert was my personal highlight. I had the Billy Minor pie with the Billy Minor coffee and both were fan-f-ing-tastic! MmmmMmmm! My steak was good but that dessert was what really made me swoon.
Price was on the expensive side but we did have drinks throughout the meal and the meal was worth the price. Would return! -

On my first visit to Victoria, I wanted to have steak and seafood with my husband. This was definitely the perfect place to go! The restaurant overlooks the waterfront which gives it a romantic feel and the decor is classy!
They have great service and their prices are very reasonable. They have an anniversary menu which has a great selection. Prices are anywhere between $20 to $35, but lots to choose from and one of them comes with a dessert.
This restaurant is know for their prime rib which does not disappoint. It's juicy and flavorful! I got a top flank steak with crab in mushroom sauce and their twice baked potato. It was very flavorful and satisfying.
$105 for both of us and we got a bottle of wine. Overall, great dining experience and their staff is very friendly. Our waiter was very attentive and courteous. -

We go to the Keg's Lounge very often for the cheap appies after 9pm. This does not include the restaurant at all, but food from the same kitchen. It's a short but sweet menu for these appetisers, & I am addicted to their nachos. It's a huge plate, simple but plentiful toppings. The hot crab dip is delicious, as well as the hot n cheesy garlic shrimp, or the teriyaki chicken wings too. The Caesar salad is very garlicky & authentic & tasty! It can get very busy but never unbearably so. They've got some great & dedicated staff, & some young fluffy girls who just hover around the hostess station. Try to snag the booth on the far end of the bar, it's the most comfortable.

I'm not really a fan of the Keg but in Victoria there aren't a lot of steakhouse options so my craving for a steak could only be cured by the Keg and to my surprise this particular location does a very, very good job of making steaks.
My Chicago style, medium rare ribeye was exactly as I expected - red throughout and a layer of char on the outside. The beef was tender and nicely flavoured - a touch more salt would have been nice but it worked just fine. It's hard to screw up a twice baked potato and they didn't - adding bacon always makes things better.
My girlfriend's filet mignon was also done just right and the crab/spinach dip was tasty with nice chips (although a tad rich but what do you expect?)
Service was good - the servers are mostly young and new to the business so you're not getting the kind of polished service you might get in a nicer restaurant.
It was $90 all in and I walked out a happy customer. -

YUUUUUMMY! Business trip to Victoria and roaming downtown area for a steakhouse and we found this place. We didn't realize that it's a chain, but that's okay, it was still delicious!
Food: Mmmmmmmmm very delicious. I got the filet mignon and it came with a twice baked potato (minor detail that it was slightly burnt but still edible). As an appetizer I got garlic cheese bread which was very mmmmm. Coworker and I shared a bottle of syrah and that was tasty too!
Service: Our server was very nice and explained everything to us very well. Service lagged a little bit toward the end, and the place wasn't busy, but it wasn't too noticeable I suppose. -

It's nice to know that some businesses really do care about the quality of their goods and services. After giving my less-than-glowing review of my less-than-glowing last experience here, I've received a very nice apology from the owner of The Keg and a coercion to come back and try their restaurant again. For that they get another star. I'm hoping after my next visit I can bump them up to five stars. *wink*

Victoria, BC
The Keg, being a national chain of restaurants, should be a well-oiled machine and at this location it is. I've eaten here many times and I'd definitely go back again. As expected the steaks are well-prepared and a good size. The only time I ever had a bad entree at the Keg I ordered a steak with crab sauce (a seasonal special). The sauce was bitter and the crab meat was cold. Yet, that one time was an anomaly and after complaining, it was taken off our bill.
If you want to have some good food and some good drinks with friends, consider the Keg. -

This was one of the few places open until 10:30pm on a weekday, so we quickly walked in. I didn't have much expectation since its s chain restaurant, but maybe theres not so much of that sort of stigma in Canada.
Ambience: date place with dark woods and leather seats/ booths. Look like a pretty new restaurant or well maintained. Bathrooms were clean which is always a plus!!
Food: delicious but a bit salty. The chef was kind enough to make a new crab salad for my friend after she mentioned it was too salty to finish.
Service: mediocre. Not so sincere. Kind of hesitant to take back the salad or do anything about it.
Presentation: I was pleasantly surprised that the salads looked really good. It really ie an art.
Oh yea their own branded mint chocolate candy was so good! I wonder if I can buy their chocolates somewhere. -

appetizers for 1/2 price after 9pm everyday... No where can beat this.... We ordered so much food and drinks, each of us had a mix drink or a couple of beers, with 4 appetizers (chicken wings, nachos, shrimp cocktail) and the bill came out for $14 per person including tips and tax. The quality of the food was decent. What can beat that? Love it love it.
