this place is awesome. the food is extremely well executed and the staff is really friendly and professional. reasonably priced for a steakhouse as well.
the ambience is great too. i wish they were open for lunch though!

Spot on service and great food. I'm not sure where these other people ate but I had no issues while dining here. Then again, it seems I pretty much always get good service no matter where I go (be gracious and it seems like things fall into place)... We started out with the bacon wrapped scallops and I had the creole chicken - my absolute favorite dish here! We ordered a bottle of wine - J Lohr Cabernet (Paso Robles) - and out waiter was nice enough to re-cork and package it for the trip back to my parent's house to enjoy later.
When visiting Coquitlam/Port Moody I think the Keg is a pretty good bet. Yes, it's not a super high end restaurant but the food and service is always consistently good. They take reservations and for the quality of food, I think the prices are decent.Listed in: Oh Canada!

We were slightly unhappy with our steak, they were a little overcooked for rare and poof - plates were gone, brand new cutlery brought and brand new meals came out, this time the steaks were perfect! The hostess and waitress were beautiful and charming and it seemed that our satisfaction were really important to them. Then to top if ott, the hostess comped our meals completely for the inconvenience to us. We will be back for sure.

Server didn't know how to poor wine - tried to fill glass 3/4 full.
Steak was too salty. The manager came over and argued with us that is how it's always done. We said don't want anything for free. The manager insisted there is no problem!!! Who is the customer???
This restaurant is extremely noisy.
We have our anniversary every year for 35 years at the New West Keg and know how to cook a steak. Never had a problem there.

I stopped by the Keg for a quick drink and apps with a friend. Ordered the goat cheese appetizer and a number of cocktails, all were delicious! I plan to stop by for dinner soon! We sat at the bar since it was a busy night, the bartenders were really cool! Loved the ambiance. The seats were very comfortable, and ladies appreciate the purse hooks at the bar!
I highly recommend going here instead of cactus club. -

The standout feature of the Keg has always been consistency. Don't expect the finest restaurant experience you've ever had, but expect a solid experience every time. I've been going to the Keg once or twice per year for almost half my life, and have only been disappointed once (and that at the Abbotsford location; this Coquitlam location has never let me down).
There's a reason that you usually have to wait almost an hour for a table at the Coquitlam Keg every Friday and Saturday night: Good food, great service, and decent ambiance is hard to come by in Coquitlam. They do their steaks and sides right, and the staff is quite well-trained and friendly.
